- For just $30 US or £35 UK (Even though $30 should be about £24 at the time of writing) the SteelSeries Rival 3 is a fairly budget gaming mouse. It’s a step above the $10 mice from no-name brands on Amazon without reaching the more premium gaming mice. SteelSeries have a reputation for high quality products which is clearly seen in the Rival 3 despite its much lower price than some of their other options. I tested this mouse in Fortnite, CSGO and other games and collected my thoughts for this honest review. Make sure to watch this video as the SteelSeries Rival 3 isn't for everyone!

You're welcome, and you should be able to fine, it may not be ideal as the mouse is really small but I doubt you will have any problems. Unfortunately you never really know until you try so if possible purchase it from somewhere with a good returns policy.

im an r6 player and my mosue stutters for whatever reason when i siwtche dto my razor or my logitech mouse it dosent stuetter but with this one it does any fixes?

Bought a Logitech g305 wireless, 5 small pads blocking into the mousepad texture, not gliding smooth.. I returned it to the store 2 days later. Bought a new Rival 3, I acommodated with it from the first match of cs go :) very smooth gliding over the mousepad, i recommand it.

Im having issue with buying this or the older Rival 310. I have medium to large hands but dont cramp up using smaller mice, i just want to know whats worth buying in your opinion.
Thanks, I really appreciate it. I have never used the Rival 310 but it does look like a slightly better mouse. the Rival 3 is very small so the extra size on the 310 would probably be nice for you even if you don't usually mind small mice.

Do you have big or small hands? If you have small hand I think Rival 3, if you have big hands then DeathAdder Essential is probably better.

just bought it and opened it up. mine is stuttering whenever i rotate the mouse fast. i tried everything to fix it but failed. maybe the sensor is broken... i don't know yours didnt stutter when you flick the mouse while playing csgo.

mine came defective with a double click issue. It's a shame because i like the shape, weight and the scroll wheel is awesome. returning mine for a trusty Razor mamba

Yeah, it's really easy. They feel very good in my opinion

I think the Glorious Model O is a better mouse (although I've not used it) so it depends how serious you game and how long you plan to keep the mouse. The Rival 3 is still a great mouse but if you are very competitive the Model O may be worth the extra money

You could consider the Razer Viper Mini, I think it's €40 and I thought it was better than the Rival 3, I did a video comparing them too if you want to have a look

You should be able to save your setting to an onboard memory profile on the mouse and it should save

Yes, both can be clicked simultaneously
When you press that middle button does it change the dpi between 800,1600,2400etc?
By default, I think so. You can fully control it in the software. It should say what the default DPI steps are in the manual.

Do you think that's better than Corsair Sabre for big hand and fingertip? What you said about the side buttons made me dubious
I've never used a Corsair Sabre and researching it didn't really give me enough information to help you properly. Do you already have a Corsair Sabre and are looking to change it or are not sure which mouse to buy? The side buttons aren't too bad once you get used to them but with fingertip grip i guess it may make a bigger difference if they have a higher resistance. The Logitech G203 is something to consider. I have a review coming out in the next few days so I have been using it. It is well suited for fingertip grip and the side buttons are better in my opinion.
@@Tekify First of all, thanks for the reply. I don't have Sabre, I don't even know what mouse I own honestly. I'm looking around to find a good mouse for fingertip/big hands for an affordable price. I've looked the Logitech you said and it looks cool but on amazon ita, I can only find the new version (lighsync?), so maybe I should wait for the old version to become available again and save some bucks buying it. @@gianluca3131 Good luck finding a mouse you like. The Lightsync is the new version which I will be reviewing but apart from lighting it is exactly the same as the previous version (Which like you say should go down in price) so that could be something to consider.

Please don't blame me if you do, but I have personally used Aliexpress and know someone who does alot so you should be fine. Just don't expect it to come fast, shipping can take a very long time.

I've been using the cyberpowerpc mouse that comes with your pc since november 2018, I picked up this mouse fairly recently and compared to the cyberpowerpc mouse it is way smaller, its prob gonna take some getting used to for my hand to use a smaller mouse since the cyberpowerpc mouse is really big lmao

the lod distance can be easily fixed by just putting a piece of electrical tape right behind the lens, I have done this in genuienly just 1 minute, however I haven't tried this ever before, trust me, if I can do it, anyone can do it.

I wish I saw this earlier. The lift off distance pissed me off immediately lol. Was wondering if it would be a problem for anybody else, returning it asap.

@@martimneves7132 I only lift the tip of the mouse a few millimeters, it's bloody awful. I readjust constantly and use a high sensitivity so it was jerking around everywhere. I ended up getting the logitech g203 since it does the same things without the awful lift distance and is the same price.

It is a little bit small for palm grip. If you are hands are very small then it will be okay. Have a look at the Razer DeathAdder and Glorious Model D

I play somewhat competitive FPS. I claw/ fingertip grip. Should I get this mouse or Logitech G203.
In my opinion the sensor was a little bit better on the G203 so for competitive FPS that is probably one of the most important things. They both feel very similar to use though. I personally like the Rival 3 more as the shape is a bit more comfortable for my grip however for fingertip I think the G203 would be better. Hopefully this helped.
No rival 3 is better than g102, g102 has lower lod but rival 3 has 300ips compared to 200ips of g102 again it has max acceleration of 35g compared to 25g of g102,(g102 and g203 are the same mouse) I had a g102 but now shifted to rival 3
What’s the cps on that mouse
I think it can hit at least like 31 with drag clicking? I haven’t tried but I saw a vid on it. I think I’m going to get this mouse and see how well I can drag click on it, because apparently it’s very good for that purpose

It should work on xbox but I have not tested it

The LOD issue is easy to resolved, all you need is a electrical black tape to put it under the sensor lens and it works.

Was *not* my issue, heard tossing the mousepad in the wash works good to help the issue I have but will try cleaning the sensor first

Yes you can

Yes you can but you won't be able to change the settings. You will need to download the Steelseries software on a computer, plug the mouse in and save your settings to the mouses onboard memory. Then you can use it on the PS4 with whatever settings you want

Hey is the LOD problem fixed , someone claimed a firmware update fixed this. If you can confirm the LOD is now 1 dvd max i will totally buy one ! Lots of confusion going on help me out on this one bro, as a rival 100 user i cant wait to upgrade ( same shape)
It is possible I haven't received the latest update yet but the lift off distance is still the same as in my video. The mouse does not track on 2 DVDs however is noticeably more than one dvd if that makes sense. Using my measurement of playing cards one DVD is about 5 playing cards and this mouse tracks at 8/9 cards, almost 2 dvds

In this video some bloke talks about a mouse. He's quite young, but not too ugly. I'm a bloke, and if you're a bloke too you're either lucky or you've made the right choice. I've not used the mouse this bloke talks about, but I might try it as we're both blokes and I think we can trust each other.

Yeah, for the price it's still a good deal I think. Coming from more expensive mice it annoys me but if you are used to a slightly higher lift-off then it'll be fine

It's a bit small so for alot of people probably not. If you have small hand you might be okay though, maybe with a bit of adjustment to how your grip normally

Steelseries is a crap danish company with plenty of problems. The switches are badly made,meaning that the clicks will not last long. On my Rival 310 i had click problem on the 4th day after buying it. It was replaced with another that had the next well known problem , adhesive. The sides would peel off ...and after the warranty end the clicks start double clicking. I then replaced it with this Rival 3 trash of a mouse that on the first day had sensor problems,it froze and will not resume until plug/unplug . Updated the engine,made some changes in control panel,made sure the sensor did not catch dust..same thing happened.So i got my money back. Shit sensor and this is a very well known problem that many had encountered. Some in the first days and others after some months. Just search reddit or the web. So SS ask for money and deliver bull$hit products. I'm not saying others are better or worse,but SS is very bad and i'm sorry to say this because i really liked their mice shape and feel.
