“Curse of Crovan’s Gate” sounds like a ghost story that Edward would tell about an engine that was set to be overhauled, but, due to financial issues, was scrapped mid-process, leading it to roam Crovan’s Gate for spare parts or something like that.
Timothy, but better.
@@wumpus976 I don’t see how that has anything to do with Timothy at all, but ok
We need someone to write this story
@@a_midland_engine preferably not me. I just make mediocre music.
@@smittyg513 I dunno, I just jump to Timothy whenever I hear “Ghost Train”
I know that sounds stupid, especially since the ghost trains in Duncan Gets Spooked and Percy’s Ghostly Trick are already around, but I guess actually giving a name to a ghost engine just makes it more memorable in my mind.
Got a perfect backstory for this fella!
One day, the chief mechanical engineer at Crovan’s Gate smoked a frick ton of weed and then decided to design it.
“And so, Thomas was born..”
Truly making him the Dank Engine
“And the Thomas fandom was born! And books, toys, and a tv show would be part of thousands of childhoods, Until the Mattel nation attacked, they took Thomas and ruined the show and left the fandom with nothing, leaving a path of destruction in its way.
The fandom was heartbroken, never seeing the blue boy ever again.
But then, the fandom began making Thomas content themselves, Mattel lost the war and Thomas fans lived in peace once again.
I spent to much time on this 🥲
So that’s what happened he had 1 to many
This is fantastic.
He's adorable.
We need more cursed concept models that end up looking pretty damn good!
Thank you so much brother man 🙏
And let me tell you- this is gonna lead to some STRANGE projects to say the least!! 🤣
@@ItsTrainBoy there's nothing stranger than the Rev. Awdry's tendency to explain away engines that shouldn't exist as "experimental prototypes that never went into production".
Also I kinda sorta challenge you to make something that makes me take back the above statement!
I agree with that
@@TheGreyTurtleEntertainment IT MUST BE DONE 😤🤣
VERY soon my dude!!
@@ItsTrainBoy xD.
Looks like Thomas if he was an experimental prototype, similar to Henry.
Your models always look the best
Thank you so much man :)
Wanna play toss the dirt?
That thing is a truly cursed creature. The next thing that would challenge this thing's cursedness would be a mallet Gordon or Henry, an articulated.
Gordon is coming soon; he won’t be anything like that though lol 🤣
Never in my life did I think this custom would ever be made, but here you are, and you did so dang well! 😆
The Hornby 0-4-0 Thomas vibes this gives me is amazing
I love that shade of blue you used on him!!
Honestly we need 3d prints like this cuz they're adorable.
Yesterday when I went out to lunch on vacation I saw a steam locomotive in the middle of the restaurant and her name was Daisy and she was made by Baldwin Locomotive works
I don't LOVE the real life J50 design...but this little model is just...sooooo much yes.
Nice video! Keep up the great work Trainboy!
Thank you so much!
@@ItsTrainBoy No problem!
Finally a good J50 Thomas model
Edit: Sorry I was wrong. Finally a J50 Thomas model which looks like he was pulled straight from the show. He looks amazing. I wonder why we never got an official J50 Thomas (i know about the anniversary one).
Awesome custom as always, TrainBoy! I would like to mention that the LNER J50s did actually have pistons, however the difference is that engines like the J50 and E2 had their cylinders and pistons in between the frames. In the case of the Curse of Croven's Gate model, it has outside cylinders. Inside valve gear wasn't well liked by maintenance crews because compared to outside motion, it was a hell of a lot more difficult to service the piston rods and cylinders when they're inside of the engine instead on the outside. Internal cylinders did sometimes boost the performance of engines in terms of horsepower, but engines with only basic side rods were mostly a UK thing. There have been engines in the US with multiple cylinders, but most American railroads preferred conventional valve gear for the sake of simplicity for engine servicing. The most successful of these engines were the Union Pacific Class 4-12-2 9000 series engines, the longest most successful single-frame steam locomotive. The 9000s used Walschaerts valve gear on the outside, however in between the outside cylinders sat a 3rd cylinder with Gresley valve gear, designed by Sir Nigel Gresley himself. Because of the 3rd cylinder, it boosted the engine's overall strength, and for a time was the most powerful engine on the Union Pacific Railroad
If you look at MSC 67 (another Hudswell Clarke tank engine), the water tanks are almost like a J50's side tanks, just less slanted and lacking an extended bunker
In my head cannon Thomas was a J50, then was bought by LBSC. Then after a horrible train wreck he was rebuilt into an E2 but more efficient.
I'm fairly certain half of N scale Percy's don't even end up being the little green caterpillar, they end up being the basis of someone's custom.
Great job as always!
now we need an 0-6-0 percy "WHO'S THE CATERPILLAR NOW THOMAS!!!!!"
Beautiful outro. “This guys a gangster? His real name is Thomas!”
I understand he’s supposed to be cursed, but this looks great!
Thank you so much my dude 🙏
He’s so adowable!
I love this kind of stuff.
I’ve been asking for this for so long. I hope he saw those comments.
It might be a random comment, but I think it would be a good idea for a movie
A "thomas " movie that I would love to watch would be the "Enterprising Engines" book: A 1 hour or something film, that condenses the stories of the book into the movie format. The starting point would be the visit of Flying Scotsman to the island, but it would also explore the end of steam in the mainland and stories such as super rescue. It wouldn't exactly be "Thomas Centric", but I think it would be nice to watch nonetheless
This is too beautiful
This is so cursed but also cool at the same time
It's funny how I am in the middle of making a J50 Thomas when you upload this and I've only watched it now
At this point trainboy could run a whole army of thomas'
That's kinda great because Thomas was originally another type of tank locomotive known as the J50.
There is a N gauge J50 model about to come out in the UK. Its from a company called Sonic Models and you can get it from Rails of Sheffield.
😱woah you never cease to amaze
Curse Of Crovens Gate is a freaken Metal title for an engine it just sounds so cool.
Keep up the good work Lance
- XR the J15
It’s a very nice custom the j50 body looks great on a 0-4-0 chassis
The blessing of Crovans Gate
Wilbert would’ve been proud to see his original J50 concept come to life!
Bro never fails to entertain me
You know I gotchu brother man 🙏
What would a industrial Toby look like?
That looks really good.
Also I love how there’s no views yet five likes.
the fact this was almost posted at 3AM my time is kind of scary
WASSUP GAMERZ
Wooooooooo. Yeaaaaah Babee. That's what I've been waiting for that's what's all abou- wooooooo
Thomas was tired of being a e2 he reverted back to a j50 killed Percy and stole his chassis legend has it he wanders around crovans gate
This is not a curse, this is a amazing model
There is a N scale J50 due out around the end of the year by Sonic Models through Rails of Sheffield.
Might be a bit expensive for a Thomas custom though.
thank you! I'm very happy
*we need this in OO now*
Awesome video trainboy
I really like this Thomas, I would say i love this Thomas
3:38
Okay, What’s you do to yourself this time, Trainboy?
While for a custom of Thomas, it's an interesting take, to say the least, but if you remove the Thomas face and put it in an industrial livery, like put it in the same livery as Arry and Bert, you'd have an excellent industrial tank engine, like this could be the previous privatized engine at the Sodor ironworks or a departmental shunter at Crovan's Gate engine works.
Commenting on the video to help my guy in the algorithm
🚨Real One Alert 🚨
🚨 A goat has entered the chat🚨
We out here
Damn, your J50 Thomas custom looks really cool!🔥
This ….. is perfect
That is the best Thomas model EVER!
Its really good!
One of the best train youtubers apart frome tugs trains
You showed this model on twitter. Great model!👍
basically, if Thomas had a j50 cousin that was somehow a 0-4-0 and was a narrow gauge locomotive-
Me: Crovan's gate is probably just a normal workshop
This model: Oh ,no, I exist now
Me: why must i be a thing in this world
J50s look nice
Awesome model,
Also, you want some b-roll of Royal Scot pulling out of a station? I had time off and was able to see it when it made its round trip around Fife a bit back,
Awesome 😎
Bachmann makes a n scale 0-6-0 chassis as well if you decide to make a cursed n scale Percy or other characters
"what would happen if you shrunk a J50?" you'd get Hudswell Clarke Short Tank Canal Type No 67 and 70 of the Manchester Ship Canal, just putting it out there lol
So we've got Thomas the Jank Engine, Percy the Pug Engine and James the Dean Engean
I bet all models you made and buy are great.👍
Boi I’ve been subbed since the beginning
Alright I know this is an old video but police make the curse of crovin's gate accessible to anyone this would be fun to have
You oughta do a comparison of this with the Bachmann N scale Thomas
I LOVE HIM!!!! Also im super curious but what is that face from?
That’s a very interesting way you went for Thomas what about ho scale to go with your James and Percy
I’ll have a water, thank you bro
Water machine broken ;(
Cher-e Sprite for the 🐐?
@@ItsTrainBoy oh of course
Thomas didn't look bad tho he looked pretty cool actually
Hi TrainBoy it's Christopher Ray Lee from aurora Illinois today is my birthday.
I think you should get a ivatt class 2mt tank engine and turn it into Arthur the lms engine
Im waiting for the ho scale model from you to go along with james and percy
I like your curse of crovan's gate.
You’re editing really good
this looks fu *thomas whistle* amazing
That model is beautiful 🤩
In 2 steps your train already looks done I wouldn’t be able to do weathering broooo
This looks amazing, I would love to see a six wheel version. Also the shapeways models look pretty rough, how do you find them?
This is a great model but DAMN look at that flat ass funnel and dome
Why the hell didn't they make Thomas a smaller j50 that would have looked so cool I swear bro one day I hope I like by the show that way I can bring back the old models I really hope someone or myself like that does that one day
I was gonna do this with track master thomas
Do it!! We need more J50 Thommo’s around the fandom! :)
My favorite thing ever
I do have a question, do you have a idea for a hawin custom of some kind? Maybe i could offer some suggestions for a hawin custom
It's amazing
amazing
Well looks like he’ going to be a test dummy for next engines.
Love this also Da Pole!?
is crovans gate a place that you can get small trains
sir are you you ok do you need a hug cause I’m not sure what that is cause it looks like Thomas but I just can’t tell if it is or not?
How many n scale Percy’s do you have???
Did you know they made a oigawa railway Thomas by tomix
I did!
I think the 1 would look better on the bunker, the 1 on the side just looks weird without lineing.
That’s understandable, I personally disagree myself. But thank you anyway!
@@ItsTrainBoy everyone has a diferent taste.
...'Cursey', for short?
I was planning too make a j50 00 Thomas but I realized that I’m at good as modeling as a 4 year old
What kind of controller do you use?
Would you be willing to buy a hornby j50 model and make it a Thomas custom?
Maybe, I’m more on the N gauge and G1 side of modeling for the next bit to save space but eventually perhaps. :)
