F Yeah, the pimp step! I've been using this with a lot of success, and people keep asking me what it is. I tell them: The Pimp Step I'm working on making this name stick 😉
Thanks Coach. I’ve been working on this since you first put this video out, and I’m having a lot of success with it. Combining it with Rafael Mendez’ method of shin pressure to pass is really effective.
I have seen Rafa Mendes show that sort of cross-side shin on shin position (or w/e it might be called) and I have seen him show that cross step pass, but I have never seen or thought to combine the two. That is brilliant. IIRC when Rafa does that shin on shin position, he likes to transition to a reverse knee on belly position to continue the pass, at least as one option.
Thank you very much, I will really try this when I can train again. As I am big I always get into the guard and from there I try to pass, but I think I can do this without problems.
This is awesome. I usually go straight in for split squat or straight hamstring and deal with half guard if it happens.. but this is so much less effort. If it doesn't work then oh well, you get caught and work the split squat or half guard game.. win / win!!
Man! I love your channel. I have learned so much from you. Love your enthusiasm! I share your videos all the time. Can I buy your PG tshirts somewhere?
Nice! I use this entry to initiate most standing passes. I thinks going ankle to ankle gives a better control;then you can push off the other leg and make them spin like a toreando pass. Most good guys check the cross shoulder, hip escape, and square up. Flexible guys step on the hip and invert. What would you do in those situations?
I love this, but I find most higher level guys will rarely have both their feet on the ground when they play off their backs. Works on whites and blues though!
Then they've reset the position and you are back to square one, but at least they don't have a guard on you. I feel like good guys might try and spin under you, underhook the far leg and get some xguard going.
Hello coach Brian.. how are you and I think this is a AWESOME move.. works great however, this one teacher at the school I attend says, " this is a dog shit move !!" And he constantly mocks me about it and tries to claim I just " walk around the guard" and will not give me ANY PROMOTIONS saying my / your jujitsu is shit. I go 3-5 days a week past 4 1/2yrs, I'm at 1 stripe blue however my last promo was 1yr 4moths ago. It's like he's trying to get me to quit and hurt me when I would roll with him. I use a lot of your stuff and it works great and will continue to study your moves and tapping this guys students hahahaha 🤣
You have to hit it during motion. If you don’t set it up, he will grab you. Break grips and keep your feet moving. Don’t step too close when you go and don’t wait. Move! 🤙
Hey I’m a casual fan and I want to learn. I just went outside sand my gloves were dusty and dry. It hurt me deeply. I’m 32. Let me wake wake up with u. 🐲🐲
This is such a silly yet brilliant concept. Love it!
My God, how I have never thought of this?!
I pulled this off the first time I tried it on my coach. It worked. But then it never worked again on him afterwards. 😉👍😁
Best bjj instructor online Imo. There are lots of scenarios provided by instructor and the videographer is awesome with the camera angles.
This is an awesome move. I don't remember who taught it to me, but he/she called it "The Pimp Step". Fitting name :)

yes definitely! I do that as well.
Brilliant.
Not gonna lie, I can't wait to try this today.

tnx so much sir...
"Why put your leg in the middle, you're in the guard, I wanna pass the guard!" Simple genius.
Muy bueno!!! Oss!!!!
beautiful
Love it!
Well that is pretty much fantastic🤓 Thank you, Coach
Good job
Awesome so usefull, i need try this!!! So thanks.
good stuff I always do the same shin to shin type move but I never do the stomp over part xD
Ha ha! More crazy Kung Fu. I'll be using this for our open guard drills. Thanks coach!
Man! I love your channel. I have learned so much from you. Love your enthusiasm! I share your videos all the time. Can I buy your PG tshirts somewhere?
Love it
Oss coach
Crazy how effective this is I am a white belt and I managed to pass a blue belt with freakishly flexible legs three times
멋있어요
감사합니다

So simple and so difficult to think
I just watched a video and got better. :D

You're going straight to side control i'm guessing,go to knee on belly first, block the hip then go to side control

Would this also work against a seated opponent?
dude you get so little credit, thanks for the vid, your awesome.
What I don't get is how is that leg wrap at 3:42 "half guard"? You're still able to pass there with a basic knee cut.
It does work just gotta get that timing, ive done it and failed it
Excellent tactic. How would you suggest defending against this though?
The simplicity of it all doesn't make feel stupid one bit
I love this, but I find most higher level guys will rarely have both their feet on the ground when they play off their backs. Works on whites and blues though!
Broooooo!
What if they hip escape away instead of trying to reset their leg first?
Then they've reset the position and you are back to square one, but at least they don't have a guard on you. I feel like good guys might try and spin under you, underhook the far leg and get some xguard going.

That doesn’t sound like a good place to be.
Didnt know Adam Sandler was that good in bjj! No but for real, this video helped me as a dumb wrestler a lot, gonna smash them guard players tomorrow
Icy Mike told me to go here
Coach, what to do if he straight away grabs your foot with his hand? That's what's happening to me when I try it on someone 🤷♂️
You have to hit it during motion. If you don’t set it up, he will grab you. Break grips and keep your feet moving. Don’t step too close when you go and don’t wait. Move! 🤙
Thanks Coach! 🙏
😄 Had the same question as it kept happening to me as well! Either dudes keep grabbing my sleeve thats on the knee, or grap the ankle...
Option! Step on his thigh😆😁💪
You look like Adam Sandler in thumbnail hahah
Hey I’m a casual fan and I want to learn. I just went outside sand my gloves were dusty and dry. It hurt me deeply. I’m 32. Let me wake wake up with u. 🐲🐲
Adam Sandler grapples now?
Whos that adam sandler
Whyyy is he playing guard with his feet on the ground lol
This would be somewhat demoralizing. It looks like you just walk through their guard.
