Once you have any project at the leather-hard stage, a really cute thing you can do is use alphabet pasta or any other pasta shapes to "write" a message. Don't really need to worry with removing them or anything, as they can burn off in the kiln during bisque :)
I don't do pottery, but I make things out of air dry clay or Fimo or foam clay, and the wind chime shape made me think I could make some fun present tags out of that, which could then be put on the Christmas tree in years to come. Or if you have a bunch of people in one household, each tag could be one piece of the wind chime. Loved this video. Some real gifts people would love.
Here a few hints from an illustrator for the palette: Make it white! Make it real smooth. And make the divits round like a bowl, so they don't pool in strange places. Some also like other textures and colours, but this would be a safe bet!
Peanut is SUCH a good name. It's so cute and most animals have some brown so it would fit for a large variety of critters. Your peanut is so cute in his little sweater in the snow. What a good boy!
This is what I call "inspiring"! Such fun ideas! I guess everybody found something. The lamp and the buttons are my new inspiration! Everything is manageable and everyone can add their own touch of creativity to it. Love that! Thanks Mia! ❤
Those little buttons could work as fabric weights as well. I mean, you might want them a little heavier if that is the goal. I could see then working though.
Great video! Really cool and inspiring ideas. I really liked the little house with a candle. I don’t do ceramics so I’ll try to recreate it with crochet and a electric candle instead.
This video was so soothing to watch. I loved the background music choices. Your cinematography and editing skills are really shining! I hope you & yours are having a cozy holiday season. 🕯️❄️☕🐕⛄
Thanks so much for this fun video, Mia! I make lots of little pots to sell my succulents but you've made me realise I can make candles and then once it's finished, it's still a cute pot :) already ordering some soy wax and it'll be a fun project over Christmas. Happy to have a break from doing markets and have a play around again. Sending love from England - if you're ever in the UK you should come visit Birmingham and Stoke-on Trent, we have so much pottery activity going on here.
Would love to see a link to similar lamp hardware bc when you google lamp kit it just brings up the old fashioned kit. How does the cord attach to the base that holds the bulb? Great ideas!!
Such great, accessible ideas. Are the wind chimes glazed? If not, are they only bisque-fired, or did you also fire them (w/out glaze) at a glaze fire temp so they're vitrified?
How do you easily get the ginger or garlic you’ve grated off and into your mug/pan/bowl, whatever cooking you’re using it for? It looks like it would be very stuck in the grater grooves and hard to get any off to use..?
I’m confused. If I let my clay sit for two days it’s hard not leathery, is this a different kind of clay? Also are you firing these in a kiln or is this a special glaze that just drys that beautifully?
I wrap my pottery in plastic to keep them wet if I want to keep working on them. I talk about this in some of my other videos. I fire all my pottery in a kiln and use different colors of glaze.
Hey there, recently found your vids! Do you think you could do a tutorial on a "blate"/"deep plate"? Seems like mixing both a plate and a bowl isn't too hard, but maybe you got some tips? :)
Does anybody know where to get good stoneware clay? I'm just getting into ceramics and I don't know a good type to get (I do know that I would like cone 6). Thank you
Omg "would you buy it"....YES HARD YES. If you could tap into the ADHD market we'd buy them all this is genius. You should patent it IMMEDIATELY if you haven't already.

Once you have any project at the leather-hard stage, a really cute thing you can do is use alphabet pasta or any other pasta shapes to "write" a message. Don't really need to worry with removing them or anything, as they can burn off in the kiln during bisque :)
Now that's an idea!!
could you maybe do a video of projects that don’t require a kiln!! I love all of theses ideas they are so cute :)

I love “peanut” so adorable.

I don’t make pottery but I do love watching these videos so much, I get so excited to watch these videos every time there posted
aww thats wonderful to hear! ❤️
Peanut is SUCH a good name. It's so cute and most animals have some brown so it would fit for a large variety of critters. Your peanut is so cute in his little sweater in the snow. What a good boy!
Thank you! Peanut is a sweetheart ❤️
The flower frog could be really cool with crochet flowers or similar, as a mixed media centerpiece!
Omg I ended up doing the ornament idea out of airdry clay, and made a little okra ornaments for my parents
They loved it
awesome!!

i really full-joyed this ❤ i’m always looking for things to create with my clay and you gave me more than one idea ! ❤❤❤
The wind chime is my fave! The sound is amazing!!!
There is no way we are in December... you just posted that "planning/scheduling" video in January a couple weeks ago 😂😂
hahah that feels like forever ago for me 😂
Great video! Really cool and inspiring ideas. I really liked the little house with a candle. I don’t do ceramics so I’ll try to recreate it with crochet and a electric candle instead.

Thank you so much!
That orange glaze is so beautiful 🧡
🧡🧡🧡
my gosh Peanut is CUTE
❤️❤️❤️
I've made so many of these, great little fun projects!
4:50 how do you get the grated ginger or garlic out?
I usually use it for tea so I pour water over it into my teacup. But you can just use your hands too.
I've seen some people use a brush, like a paintbrush
Thanks for all these fun ideas!
Glad you like them!

I didn't know garlic graters existed, cool!
I like them so much better than those handheld lever things… those are such a pain to clean!
What is the tool you use for the angle cut? Cute ideas!! Thank you!!!
I have it linked on my website :) www.potterytothepeople.com/tools
Amazing! Thanks so much.
Would love to see a link to similar lamp hardware bc when you google lamp kit it just brings up the old fashioned kit. How does the cord attach to the base that holds the bulb? Great ideas!!
What kind of glaze do you use on the frog? Is it a celadon? It's a really nice color and finish.
yes it’s a commercial celadon I bought from a local supplier :)
Hi, what clay did u use for the teacup? I love the effect.☺️
Hi there! Nice video :3 I'm thinking of making some of you DIYs with air drying clay since I already have some at home
Sounds great!

I have the same questions. Hopefully she will see this.
I wrap my pottery in plastic to keep them wet if I want to keep working on them. I talk about this in some of my other videos. I fire all my pottery in a kiln and use different colors of glaze.
Where is that green rotary table from? Its so sweet, Ive not seen one so simple and light they're normally are so heavy duty!
i'm missing the charity organisations in the description :-) wanted to check them out
thanks for the reminder! I forgot to add them! 🤦♀ they are there now :)
Hey there, recently found your vids!
Do you think you could do a tutorial on a "blate"/"deep plate"?
Seems like mixing both a plate and a bowl isn't too hard, but maybe you got some tips? :)
Would any of these be possible using low fire clay and a Rakuten type kiln? I love these ideas. Merry Christmas to you and yours.
Are you bisque firing before glazing or are these bone dry and glazed before fire? Is it just underglaze that can go on bone dry to fire?
I bisqued them all, I just didn’t include that in the video. My underglaze can go on leatherhard or bisque. I painted it on when it was bisqued.
I can’t seem to find the strike anywhere matches on Amazon. Do you happen to have the link😊
I so wish I had a community kiln nearby
have you check local schools? Sometimes they have a kiln.
@PotterytothePeople great idea! I never thought of that! 🤞🏻
@@lindseybotelho Or search in kilnshare website for a kiln near you. That’s what I did and did not realise I have plenty nearby!☺️
I have an idea for a video. Damascus cly pots similar to. Your nerikomi video
how do your solid peices like the candlerstick holder and dog not explode in the kiln.
If the pieces are completely dry before firing, they shouldn't explode in the kiln.
this may be dumb, but can you make the tealight house out of air dry clay or is that a fire hazard?
Does anybody know where to get good stoneware clay? I'm just getting into ceramics and I don't know a good type to get (I do know that I would like cone 6). Thank you
Hello Mia, can air dry clay be treated in a way it can contain liquids? Thanks!
sorry it cant! You need to use real ceramic for that.
How is peanut feeling?
Using a small hand extruder for some of these would make them sooo fast and easy. Great list!!
Meeegnets, have you thought about making meeeeeeeeeeegnets? 🤭👌
😂
Vague is pronounced “vayg” FYI…
PS: Everything you make is great!
that’s my midwestern accent 😂
Hello
Are you you Blue Sky?
Omg "would you buy it"....YES HARD YES. If you could tap into the ADHD market we'd buy them all this is genius. You should patent it IMMEDIATELY if you haven't already.
Put your face too in thumbnail. Helps connect people better with the channel. If it make sense 😅

was looking for ideas for christmas crafts to make for my grandma, first one is a weirdly specific one that barely anyone has, except for her 😌
