This video REALLY took off due recent news, so I wanted to say a few things... 1. I said in this video that Espinas was gonna be in MHFU but was cut due to fan outcry. This is actually FALSE, and the only existing screenshot comes from a poorly done edit on GameFAQs. A LOT of people believe this now, so I'm super sorry for spreading misinformation. 2. I never expected a Frontier monster to actually come to the main at all. Capcom hasn't treated Frontier well these past few years. Any attempt to play it today is taken down, and a lot of the reason Frontier was shut down was due to Capcom completely mishandling the company that made it. I expected them to never mention Frontier again, but they actually went and did it. This is freaking HUGE, and I feel like Frontier actually has a future now. 3. Because of the news, I just reached 500 Subs. I want to thank all the new guys here, as well as the people who've stuck with me all these years! I'm honestly shocked that you guys still watch me despite how little I upload, so I couldn't thank you enough! Ohhh I'm glad to see that be cleared up. I too hope for frontier to have more monsters added to the mainline games. There's some really neat designs that are..far far better than lavasioth. >_>

I like the way espinas hunt start. Hunting a monster that starts out sleeping, then even after waking up, it barely gives a shit about you.I find that somewhat funny really creative
They also flipped out that we got Lavasioth and Hypnocatrice because those two were also frontier originals. Naturally the one we kept was Lavasioth even though Agnaktor is just way more cool.

You really gotta wonder if you are the true monster in the series when you attack this sleeping monster who does nothing but try to nudge you away, even when you wake it up it barely fights back only knocking you around and trying to get you to piss off so it can go back to sleep. It has zero malice towards the hunter at all yet the hunter still insists on fighting and killing it. Also holy shit that insta charge is ridiculous. Loads of damage, inflicts poison, zero windup and big hitbox? Doesn’t het much more old gen than that.
Would love to see espinas in the main serious with some more polish on him and have more of his own moves instead of borrowed ones, also the look of an espinas charge blade would be amazing

It seems they changed the fire from Poison + Para to Poison + Fire in Sunbreak, judging from the trailer. But who knows, maybe it gains the Para similar to how Nerscylla can inflict both sleep and deadly poison with its stinger.
I can easily see this in the new monster hunter style in world, like it aggressively attacks any large monster that attacks it during its sleep, ecen overwhelming a Deviljho with its toxins

Yes he was but the people who played frontier felt annoyed that they basically had two would have been three monsters that they would've need a paid subscription to fight even though they could've fight them mhfu for free so in the end espinas was scrapped from mhfu and made frontiers flagship monster. Which is quit sad that we never got to fight him he looks interesting and could fight right at home in mainline games.

But could've been cool if they had a voting pool for MHFU to have espinas as a dlc on a later date after that because frontier already have dozens of exclusive monsters, but I guess that was not possible back in the day. I really hate how so many players get agitated when someone wants a monster brought into the newer games. Even now people are pissy when someone mentions Gore Magala or Dire Miralis for a candidate for 5th gen for reasons ranging from “it would break the lore” to “4th and 3rd gen is so good, people need to play it instead of the new games”.

Frontier ended up getting A LOT of exclusive shit later, so that point was null and moot a long time ago. Still, even though Frontier's dead, Capcom refuses to acknowledge it. There are several private server projects, but I hope Capcom does a re-release of it at some point, maybe in an HD Collection with other older games.
Because it was "Too extreme". The vast majority of Frontier critics have never touched it, even when the TW version was F2P since the shutdown got announced, AND had an English patch. Thing is, Frontier's monsters aren't focused on lore or ecology, but the fights themselves. They didn't try to make fights realistic, but make them interesting and unique. That's the reason so many designs are similar to each other.

It's Lao's theme, and they probably picked it because of how well it goes with the atmosphere. Either that, or they didn't have another song to use.
