People are constantly arguing between Khezu and Gigginox for the best leech monster, but this... This guy right here earns that award with actually implementing blood sucking into his gimmicks.
@@goldenhydreigon4727 I... yeah, that’s pretty obvious. I didn’t say he was a leviathan. I’m saying that we need more leviathans and I would much rather have had this guy take fish boy’s place in world than having fish boy.
Unironically, this this is a really terrifying monster. He's violent as hell and the blood draining thing is surprisingly graphic for monster hunter, what with all the blood on-screen. I hope he comes to the main series one day, it's one of Frontier's best designs, and considering that Sunbreak's new elder might also have vampiric undertones given what we've seen, might be time to bring the oversized leech out of retirement.
@@Godzillakuj94 Fair, probs decrease the AOE of its slicing whip-lash and probs have it target other bird wyverns if the dromes don't come along with it - like Pukei.
I absolutely loved this "MH Showcase" videos from frontier since I have never played this game. Your editing is amazing and all the explanation and info u gave to us is really good, keep doing this it's pretty unique
That's because they tested a lot of things with Frontier, new skills, new monster (and new mechanic), new weapons and on and on. Since it isn't a "main monster hunter game" they had a lot more freedom on what to do.
This monster is definitely, uh.. a bit of a tonal shift. It'd be pretty interesting to see him in a new MH as the first "wall" for players, considering that.
Never played Frontier so I might never experience these fights in person but your videos help give an insight of what makes them great. Thank you so much for that, however, you could improve the videos by keeping the same text style from the hunts in some way during the equipment overview as white over white is not fun to read.
This is the kind of monster I definitely don't want to meet as a random encounter in the open-map format of the 5th gen main series. You can just heal from carpet bombing, but sabotaging your weaponry with unblockable attacks is such a crippling power to face against.
In general, I’m not a big fan of Frontier’s monster design philosophy. I think many of the designs feel very artificial fantasy, and lack both the creativity and biological depth of the main series’ monsters. That said, this is by far my favourite Frontier monster and I wouldn’t be the slightest bit disappointed if it came to the main series as is with little or no changes. I also like Espinas and the Kamu/Nono Orugarons.
How are they very artificial fantasy? I mean i can see the monsters from monster hunter frontier z and monster hunter frontier z zenith. Monsters like Disufiroa many look overdesign but do have a reason for why look like that.
Frontier Monsters are creative. They all come with either very unique ideas or good executions for ideas that aren't unique. You've got both a rock-tunneling leviathan covered in weather-reactive organic crystals that interact with the enviroment and react differentely wether it's sunny or rainy, and just a pretty well rounded status monster that detonates explosive gas.
Just one question : is it classified as a high tier monster (like Espinas, Seregios or even Bazelgeuse) ? Because I'd really like to see it in sunbreak as a "special guest" like Bazel in the first title update of rise
He first appeared in a G-rank update, but was pretty early in G-rank. They made a Style Rank version and made it a key quest, so he's considerably harder here.
@@Weedbongz Welp, I'm late, but in hunter notes has the same threat level as elder dragons like frontier kushala or frontier teostra and even pariapuria
"he doesn't have to be changed that much" I disagree, baru has so much blood going on, it would singlehandedly raise the ESRB rating to M, making it a no-go unless that stuff is tamed.
And that's why it's good, you are legit hunting big monsters yet there is no violence and blood going on, hope mh6 is different and is based on horror quests where you are hunted.
Wish World got more unique monsters like this in its roster. Most of the new monsters in that game didn’t have a cool gimmick or design. Just angry dog thing or T. rex with fire.
And Frontier has the most generic, over the top, braindead repetitive designs you could point to. Most of the monsters that were released during the last 3 years especially were pretty much a lot of spikes + neon colours.

The best leech monster is Primordial Malzeno, he can fire a leech laser

Lavasioth is a PISCENE WYVERN

If there was one monster to come to the main games from frontier (Not counting Lavasioth and the bird) I would want this vampire loch ness monster
I like how it gibs other creatures, surprised it can do that since you don't see that level of violence anywhere else in Monster Hunter

Can I ask what the music was during the showcase, it sounds familiar to me but can't put my finger on it.
It's Moga Village at night, exclusively in Tri. It's not in MH3U because there's no active day/night cycle, it's determined by the quest instead.
