- The plaintiff and defendant met in high school, and they dated on and off over the years. They decided to take a cruise together, but the defendant had no money to pay the bill at the end. The plaintiff says she fronted the bill with the promise the defendant would pay her back, but he hasn’t, so the plaintiff is suing. The plaintiff claims the defendant also owes her money for a trip to Disney World. The defendant insists the cruise was a birthday gift, and he never agreed to pay for the entire Disney World trip, just half the cost

The ending was very telling about his sense of self-worth. The only thing he values is what other people think of him. It's not even about the things he has. He looked so conflicted when the Judge read those texts. He probably felt vulnerable and scared that the truth was coming out. But all his mind was telling him to do was "lie some more."
