0:43 MacReady doesn't mean the version is meant for Mac, it's a codename for that specific version using a name from the movie The Thing. MacReady is useable for all platforms listed. Kind of confusing for a lot of people, just wanted to let you know for clarity's sake. Great video, well worth the watch!
a it's not really a fire temple as it is a cave with hot floors, there's no semblance of hylians having built anything there than the gossip stones or chests... b I like that lofi beats version of classic music c I wish they made ship of harkinian able to play romhacks instead of just in-client modding options (tho I would like to play as goth malon, zelda, great fairy or one of the pretty lady npcs ofc)
Great tutorial, thank you! I tried it today with a friend and I was wondering if de-sync for world daytime, mobs/boss attacking us is normal or issue on our end? We'd both be in the boss room and fight our own version of the boss instead of together.
You're welcome! I'm glad it came in handy for someone. Enemies are never shared regardless of real-world time or not as this is not a server based program from my understanding. I could be wrong but I think it would take either additional programming or a 3rd party program to create a server for friends to join to have shared enemies and bosses. Me and my brother just dealt with the extra hits knowing the extra hearts are shared between each other so it all compensates.
So when you collect something like a heart piece or a weapon, is it shared with both players, or do both still have to collect it? Can you traverse the entirety of the map separately and do multiple dungeons at one time? Apologies if you mentioned any of this earlier..I skipped ahead to see the gameplay only lol
Around 46:20, the brother collects a Hylian shield and points it out to TBG, who then confirms he has one in his inventory, so items are instantly shared. As for the world, getting into Dodongo's Cavern, the brother was still outside for a while while TBG was inside; this seems to imply you can be in completely different world spaces.
Your Zelda video was very helpful in the setup and insulation was very easy to do with that particular program but i can't figure out how to make the additional C buttons from the d-pad like you did and that's what I'm trying to do so if you can tell me how to do that it would be helpful i can only get the up one to work i want to get the side on both sides of it and the bottom one so I can fit more things out of time on my c bar
Biggest thing is to make sure you activate the dpad in the settings. Then you can map them after that. This is all discussed between 5:30 and 15:00 minutes on the best way to set this up and map it out so you don't overlap buttons and other controls for the best quality of life changes in my opinion.
More specifically between 11:30 and 13:30 is how you map the controller and then go into the settings to click the button to activate the Dpad. If you don't active the dpad the button mappings for those won't work.
Easiest most simple way is download the co-op version, link your legal rom and set up a network password and you're done. Everything else is quality of life.
@@TheBitGarage I also tried with pal 1.1 and Debug. But still crashing as soon I open it. I think isn't the rom, instead, I think it's the SoH 8.0.3, because when I tried it also crashed in the same way. What do you think about that??
I haven't seen a split screen version unfortunately but I think that would be awesome! If you come across one let me know and I'd love to do a video on it.
How do I join a friends game? I have already connected to the anchor server with the id, how do we start a game? sorry for any mistakes in this, I'm Brazilian
You each have your own enemies and can't see each other's enemies but some damage will affect you like an explosion from the other person's game. Definitely adds a whole new difficulty and challenge to the game that we actually find kinda fun. You also both heal from a single heart in one game, so if you each pick up a heart from a pot you'll both heal for two hearts. Makes managing healing and damage easier.
If they're showing up and playing as just a fairy, that's a different game mode that you downloaded on anchor. You'll need to download the other mode with all characters as link.
I did see a Mac downloadable version but don't know if that's a code name for PC download or if that's truly for Mac. Also I don't own a Mac so I can't test it. Let me know if you guys try it and if it works!
You may have downloaded the single player version instead of the multiplayer version. Make sure you downloaded this version. github.com/garrettjoecox/OOT/pull/64
Ship of Harkinian is absolutely not an emulator. A Nintendo 64 emulator would not be able to (completely) support this level of modding. Ship of Harkinian is a complete PC port of the original game. The code has been painstakingly reverse engineered and ported over to PC, and calling the end product an emulator is an insult.
It was me being undereducated and a mistake. I mean no disrespect. I'm just a simple dad trying to share a cool experience I had with this amazing PC Port, "if that's that correct terminology".
All of your crazy grammar issues aside, the guide as explained does not work. You're obviously missing a step somewhere, your explanation about how to connect at 17:00 does not work whatsoever. Like, not even a little bit. Will be moving on to another guide to figure this one out I guess.
Thanks for showcasing my Hyrule Warriors Link mod!
You did an amazing job with it! It looks absolutely amazing!

I do appreciate that! I thought Mac ready meant it was for Mac. I'll make a pinned comment soon and share the info. Thank you!
Amazing Guide! wish there were more high quality guides on youtube like this.
Thanks!
Thank you for the video I'm super excited to play this with my friends!!!
Glad you enjoyed it! It's been a blast to relive the glory days with my friends in the co-op mode.
Very Helpful Guide you got here, Thank you!
Thank you for watching and the comment! Much appreciated!

Me and my brother just dealt with the extra hits knowing the extra hearts are shared between each other so it all compensates.
Here I thought Modloader 64 was the only project like this.
Modloader is good for a bunch of other games.

It's all shared loot so you could be in different towns collecting loot and everyone receives it. Definitely speeds up the campaign.
im confused. is this ONLY for master quest? This isn't very clear. Does this work with base game?
I believe you can select standard, master quest or boss run.
banging guide
Thanks!

Ok that’s a lot of information. Is there a way to just make a simple default coop experience, not wanting to change gameplay?
Easiest most simple way is download the co-op version, link your legal rom and set up a network password and you're done. Everything else is quality of life.
Sadly it's similar "coop" to the emulator version. I hope we see some shared world coop at some point.
My friend isn't wanting to play because of the lack of enemy sync 😅
Yeah it's a pain but you get use to it! Still pretty fun to play together.
aweome
It can work with any OoT Rom Hack or not all of them?
Only certain ones. Use the rom checker website to verify.
I don't now why, but my game just crash on the ships logo. I'm using a 1.0 pal rom (n64) without any mods. Any solution?
Double check the rom with the rom checking website. If it says it's good I would reinstall a clean version of the program.
@@TheBitGarage I also tried with pal 1.1 and Debug. But still crashing as soon I open it. I think isn't the rom, instead, I think it's the SoH 8.0.3, because when I tried it also crashed in the same way. What do you think about that??
When I used the texture pack, Link's face would be glitched(I am using Meele Link).
Yeah I loose the eyes on it for some reason.
Can barely see what's on the screen it's so tiny.
"If you have a monitor that has vsync" lol
Every monitor has vsync
Is there anyway to do this on one pc? Like a makeshift splitscreen.
I haven't seen a split screen version unfortunately but I think that would be awesome! If you come across one let me know and I'd love to do a video on it.
Cool
the other person's character model is invisible. only shows the fairy. how do i fix this?
Make sure you downloaded the version that says anchor + player models #64 and not the anchor 52 version.
github.com/garrettjoecox/OOT/pull/64
Is there any chance someone can tell me how I can play the standard version here? No matter what rom I get it just automatically goes to master quest
I'm not positive but I think SOH is only master quest.
How do I join a friends game? I have already connected to the anchor server with the id, how do we start a game? sorry for any mistakes in this, I'm Brazilian
If you both put in the same game name and password in the ID it will link you two up.
@@TheBitGarage You mean that if my game is named as "Link", my friend must have his game named as "Link" too?
Can you also play majors mask with this?
No. They'll be making a different program for that.
i can only have one mod at a time, so it only shows up with link mod, not oot reloaded
That's odd, I haven't ran into that issue yet. Have you tried loading both mods from the same file in the same game session?
@@TheBitGarage nevermind i got it fixed 😅
how is the multiplayer are enemies and other stuff synced?

Sorry. PC Port.
How do I get the network tab to show up?
You may have downloaded the single player version. Make sure you download the anchor version.
How do you see your friend in the game as for me I just see his fairy
If they're showing up and playing as just a fairy, that's a different game mode that you downloaded on anchor. You'll need to download the other mode with all characters as link.
how do i synch gameplay
WTF IS WRONG WITH EVERY TUTORIAL VIDEO THAT ALL OF THE ICONS ARE 5 PIXELS AND I CAN'T SEE NOTHING
🤷
Ship isn’t an emulator though
Apologies, PC port/program
How do you get co op to work on Steam Deck?
Sorry but I'm not entirely sure on the steam deck. If I find something online I'll let you know.
Anyone aware if this works on a mac? my boy only has a macbook but we wanna do this!
I did see a Mac downloadable version but don't know if that's a code name for PC download or if that's truly for Mac. Also I don't own a Mac so I can't test it. Let me know if you guys try it and if it works!
Can you save the game in multiplayer?
Yes you can. Save it just like you would in the original game and close down the program and you're good to go.
@@TheBitGarage hey thanks for the reply! can't wait to get this going for the GF and i :)
Can and how can multiple players use different skins?
It hurts to hear you call ship an emulator
but how do i join the game
If you both have the same game name and password in the network tab you'll join the game.
There is no network option?
You may have downloaded the single player version instead of the multiplayer version. Make sure you downloaded this version.

@@TheBitGarage turns out I just didn't fully extract the anchor soh so I redownloaded it and then fully extracted it so I then had all the files.
Local coop?
You can start two clients and have them side by side with each have a different controller assigned
I haven't tried that but i'd imagine that could work
Working on iPad/ios?!
I hope so!
