I appreciate the effort to help people learn this fight and it will help people who have no clue how to do this fight, but wish you had spent more time making sure you have all the mechanics nailed down properly. You usually make top-notch well-informed videos, so I want to give you some criticism for this one. You don't mention the degens at all, and those are the thing that will brick your run the most in the 3rd phase if you don't have enough damage and damage uptime on him. They completely disable your leech, lower your max res etc, shock you with no way to disable it with shock immunity and deal decent amount of damage too. They are always created on the spot where the spinner was once it ends, so the longer the fight takes, the more of these run-bricking degens you'll have. Another thing is the 'influence' or arena of safety; if you leave it, he will ALWAYS create a new storm which can increase the the moving storms from mandatory 3 (one between each phase, phases can be recognized by the amount of circles his meteor attack has - 1 in 1st, 2 in 2nd and 3 in the final phase) and it is actually well explained in the fight unlike you mention; if you leave it, he will say "Why run? What's the point?" And spawn a storm right after. This audio also happens between the three mandatory storms he creates. For the death beam combo; there is a sound cue every time he does it; "DIE" so while you ideally want to see him, you can expect it without seeing him. It also doesn't always only happen after the other attack you mention either, but after any of his other abilities. As for the narrow wall attack; it is one the best options to deal damage to him so I wouldn't advice one to ever break the ability by getting out of it, unless you absolutely have to due to degens inside it that make it impossile to dodge or leech through the rotating balls. He doesn't target you, so you can just stand in one spot and leech/regen/pot through it safely, or block the projectiles with something like summon skeleton. And finally his movement during storm phases; he will hover around the arena in a circle regardless of what you do (no need to engage him), so if he is close to the staircase that can make the meteor maze slam much harder to dodge, you can actually just wait and let him circle back to the center before proccing the next phase.

Yoji's prediction came true. Only Karv could make complete sense of this boss fight. Good work still Grimro. What kind of damage does the chaos storm do? Any possibility of lasting long enough to pass through one?
My problem with the fight is the storms, each time you die in phase 1 = 1 extra storm, it's expected to die a few times while learning the mechanics, problem is Everytime you die you take a massive step towards bricking the fight. No problem with bricking the fight, bricked a few shapers back in atlas of worlds when I was learning him. My problem is the turnaround time to getting a new attempt, it takes me about 2 days to get 1 attempt with my play schedule, I used to be able to do several attempts per day at Uber elder with only 1 RNG wall which was the amount of time needed to spawn elder influence. Now every influence spawn of the conquerors is an RNG wall placing Sirus behind a 12 layer RNG wall. If that weren't enough the storms themselves have way bigger AoE than their visual effects, you also have to learn their actual AoEs to consistently do the fight. Also there is no way anyone learns all these mechanics alone with so little explanation, again, no problem with no explanations, I usually play dark souls bosses blind and prefer learning them myself, but in dark souls the turnaround time for another attempt is the few seconds of the walk of shame back to the arena.
The audio cues also seem pretty important. For example when he does the multiple laser shot, he always says "die". There are a number of these cues and they can really help quickly identifying what to watch out for. Other than that, very solid guide! Always enjoyed your content!
my first Sirus Kill today on my cyclone facebreaker gladiator, last league i only got my first attempt at him and it looks like i will usually just get one per league the way i play so thank you for helping to make my goal for this league happen :)

Man thanks to you I just beat him easily on level 8! Thanks! The storms leaving the red ring was the most useful tip because you just have to get below him a second and then it spawns the ring.
Thanks, I did Awakener 5 now, 2nd try and I got the kill down to the last portal because I struggled with the deathbeams a little bit. The storm got easy for me though. I got awakening curse on hit :)
Hey Grim! Excellent guide, I'm really surprised you don't have more subscribers, but if you keep this up I believe thats going to change. I just had two things to mention that you may have left out or forgot to put in your guide. One is the degen spots that occasionally appear on the ground when your fighting and the second is sometimes the stationary storms get pushed and block off exits. How would you go about dealing with that or is there a for sure way of knowing how and when to manipulate it? I suspect it happens if you form a ring to close to a stationary storm.

Good info. A couple of things to add. After the first spawn, you do not need to use the same tier map for 2nd and 3rd encounters, I use a tier 1 or 2 map and as soon as he/she appears I pop out and go to the next one. The other thing that helps me, is that you can search(highlight) in the map tab, or stash tab by area of the maps you want to use and it will highlight the maps that are in that area (Like Valdo for instance).
Thanks for the tips. I just did the fight and died like 5 times to storms (stupidly) and killed him on the final portal. It's a pretty cool fight actually, but the storms are too unforgiving since you just instantly die
The fight itself isn't hard but the blobs are so annoying, I'm even going with chaos res and ametist flask and it's still a pain to place them somewhere else also since I'm using golemancer the golems in this fight rip a lot since I don't have all the gear, I'm aiming and I'm with kinda bad gear but that aside the blobs are the biggest issue by far. I will give it a few more tries since practice is the key after all.
The storms don't have a damage type, they will do unmitigateable damage that "rips you apart until you die" (maybe degen pantheon works, not entirely sure), and they will do much more damage the deeper in them you are.
Super helpfull, thanks alot. Killed him as a low life Stormbrand Inquisitor. Super easy once you know what to do. Died 1 time to a missplaced storm tho. The small "brick wall" on the stairs should be removed, almost killed me.
Grimro - Thank you for taking the time and explaining this fight - I am glad I found your video. Because of this video, I went in to Sirus for the first time, at only Awaking level 2, Sirus fight, and defeated with ease. I did die 3 times, because it is a new mechanic for me, but with this, I was able to understand what was going on. Again, thank you.
Imo what makes it feel bs, is that laser auto attack dealing a ton of damage, you go in, you get 1-2 shot, try again, if you have a build that likes being static to deal damage (i.e. anything else than minions or cyclone), it's pretty awful, the counter is just to run around in circles, just means if your build has a bit of a ramp up you'll struggle for no good reason. there are no adds, so builds that rely on adds will struggle, though vaal breach or a flask charge on crit precision watcher's eye can be used. and the biggest complaint I have is that it's red on red, which makes a lot of attacks hard to see if you don't know what to look out for. the shaper is probably on par mechanics wise, but it is a lot clearer and you'll have time to adapt to the mechanics throughout the shaper influenced maps, where he shoots his balls and you see the vortexes, once you fight him the only new mechanics are the slam, which is the most deadly if you aren't prepared for it, the laser, which is fairly obvious and the bullet hell with an obvious "come to me" compared to that all of sirius's mechanics are mostly new, in lower contrast and still requiring fast reactions.
Is he supposed to heal back to 50% at the 25% phase and follow the chaos storm and then sit inside it forever? I eventually danced around for 5 minutes and the chaos storm moved. By that point, Sirus was at the far top left and sat at the stairs and refused to move again. Arena just felt bricked, as those stairs coupled with a smaller area to work with just made it so much harder to dodge anything without a clear floor.
i didn\t know you had to be under him to get out of storm phase, i been dying to storms all for like 3 attempts this makes it soo much easier knowing this

I have watched this video several times now and I am convinced I am playing a different game. Perhaps the mechanics are different on the xbox, certainly some things are harder (can’t precisely position the destination of your flame dash for example ) but in my first encounter, awakened 0 , level 91 freezing pulse totem heiroohant I was unable to lay a single hp on him and suffered 6 deaths, all nearly instant. When I first find him after threading through the storms, I am following your advice to stay under him. I plant my totems (which in 6 deaths never even fired once) then he drops what looks like a great blob - I am assuming it is one of these storms based on your vid - right on top of me and I am instantly dead. When I got smacked like this twice, I got clever and dashed in, dropped totems and dashed out only to have a bloody great thing fall on me and smash me dead. Another time dashing away from his “blob” at the start I dashed into a storm and - dead. Another time I drop totems and run away - this time well out of range of his meteor and storm and flame rays, my totems do absolutely nothing to him, and I wait around for a very long time, finally getting bored I carefully walk towards him and when I get close enough - bam I am dead. The last time I don’t even make it to him, threading two storms I guess I got too close (there is NO way of seeing the edges of these storms as they are black/red on black/red and on my Xbox screen they are almost indistinguishable esp to someone is partially colour blind ) An unbelievably f*cked uo boss which has totally put me off the game, and now having lost 60% experience I haven’t a clue how to get back to this fight, even if by some miracle I thought I might be able to kill him. A bitter ending to what had been the best league ever (I have played one character in each league since I start midway through harbinger - addicted to the game, but this has left a very sour taste ) Great video - much respect - but I would like to see something that resembles what I am seeing on the screen which doesn’t look anything like what yr video and others are showing (in no other video am I seeing sirus drop a big bloody blob on top of the character at the get-go) Maybe it is different on the xbox. Would love any suggestions thanks again
Thanks for the video, was informative, though I think its just my current build isn't suited to this fight at this point, and my DPS is lowish. 700k with pots but only 400k without. stormburst as main dps so stationary channel, and on console so no control over dash distance.
Subscribed. I went from getting completely owned through all 6 portals... to the very next time I tried I won with no deaths at all and I dont believe my health ever went below 50% at any point. Very very easy fight. Thanks for your guide!
Got him to the last phase, and, of fucking course, got the dreaded stair case. Now what? I have to run a shit ton of maps before getting a shot to fight him again!? GOD DAMN FUCK THIS GAME. Thanks for the guide, though. Helped me get past P1 and P2, although fucking scuffed Storms in the wrong spot.
It can be a tough fight to learn. Him drifting to the stairs sadly is one of two things (fight RNG (there is a bug that causes it) or you taking to long in the storm phases.
Interesting to see how many mechanics don't show up on my potato.. i knew the mazes existed, but i never actually seen them spawn on my screen. never seen any degen puddle either.. and with some luck storm spawn before i'm dead :P did kill him 1 time, through the power of luck it seems :P
That 2nd beam without clones always kills me when i am returning to the arena because he's off-screen. I think this is a mechanic that everyone complains about for this boss.
I still play specter build and for sure I dont like mechanic where key of fight is to go through narrow paths between storms because my specters just die. Thank you for all the informations, I did enter arena 2 times used two portals, then I start reading about the fight and when I was back into game partals were gone :( Now I have bricked atlas, no infuluence spawning,16 watchstones, ggg on vacations... I will try to get more life to minions, see how it goes but propably after the patch :(
Watched this video before my 2nd attempt. 1st attempt i didn't get even close to killing him. On my second attempt, I had trouble baiting the storms during chaos storm phase, but i got Sirus down to 20% hp! on last phase. Then I died for the last time :( Next time for sure!
Just watched this after yet another sirus fail so can't tell you if it helped yet but I definitely feel more confident for the next fight knowing how I can ditch the moving storms and dodge that 1shot kameha bullshit xD
Pretty sure the storm thing doesn't work any more. I couldn't get them to follow me whatsoever, they just went in a random direction, even if I tried fetching them.
I bricked my first fight, and I spawned him again (Awakening level 6) I got him with 2 deaths (both deaths were again to the degen storms - the fight itself is a cakewalk). I need to perfect those dang storms...I don't like the fact that a seemingly innocuous mechanic is the actual "difficult" part of the fight, but hey, now that I beat him I at least appreciate the "spectacle" of the fight. It's a pretty fight. Compared to the uber Elder fight, to me the fight seems far too easy, but hey I'm playing a minion metacuck Necro, so there's that.
Killed him for the first time with my slave driver summoner after seeing this, would've been deathless but I dragged a storm into the corner and didn't have enough space to get out! :D.
@@LifenLifestyle2023 Yes, the only way I made them survive was with a cast on channel/cyclone/desecrate/spirit offering setup, (sadly this requires a melee weapon). But it helps immensly since it keeps them topped up with that 20% hp -> shield, just keep spinning and convocing to keep them away as much as possible from the storms) at 5 stones, 4 spectres is easily enough to dps him down, so sacrificing the 5th and keeping them healthy is probably the way to go (since slave drivers are super spastic -_-)

Don't know how I killed him the first time, I just did. 2nd time around, got ABSOLUTELY WRECKED by the chaos storms. Went it half asleep, instantly died to the first chaos storm. Died 5 other times to the chaos storms that followed you... I didn't really know that only ONE of them is following you, and that you should "place" it somewhere, and maneuver around the map to get back to Sirus. I just thought that if I go in a corner, it's going to hopefully go back (lol). With this explanation though, it just looks like a shaper fight, but with tons of fucking balls already exploded on the ground, and touching any will insta kill you. Still, just did shaper and elder for the first time today (after a few years of playing PoE), and those fights were 100x easier. - Maybe because I already knew the mechanics too well from watching videos like these. But yeah, degen storm, pretty wack and hard. Other than that, the fight is also easy. I can see why a lot of people get frustrated from that, but I also understand why it needs to be hard like that (since you know, they killed uber elder, and is supposed to be fuck tons better than them).

About 10 minutes into this video, I decided to do something else besides fighting Sirus... 10-20 minutes of dodging one-shot mechanics doesn't look very fun.
hate this fight man, lower awakening levels he is fine but I've died twice now at a5. Dont get to see him enough to practice. Such a bummer to get another chance I think I'm over it.
So I just tried it. He just locked himself up so I could not get to him. Shit fight. Without watching anything, I accidently opened when I thought it was ust normal boss, and could not watch vids before, was afraid the portals would timeout.. Now to prepare for next time, but holy fuck that was sheit.
After one death the entire fight was immediately ruined. I enter my second portal go up stairs run for the center and BAM!!! Chaos storms spreading out in all direction from the center. Instant death. Third time entering the portal and there is a chaos storm blocking my path to the center, so I try to go right and down but there is one going that way too. I am completely cut off from the boss. Hands down one of the worst mechanically bosses I fought in a video game. Could it have been a bug. Maybe so, maybe not. All I know for sure it put a real sour spot on the game for me.
First guide tell me save spots that the storm travael automatic away. Then i was died first time Phase 3 i cant go back to him because the storms block the way... Fight was over when i died first time...
The more I play this fight the more I love it, you have to actually engage on the mechanics and you have to learn them to do it. The only thing I think is kinda "bullshit" is the degen ground being almost imposible to see. Also, you missed it, that degen ground disables all recovery, so its REALLY dangerous. Loved the guide, but you need to add that degen ground to the list of mechanics you should know.
Not a true statement with a8 Sirus...he gets health back all the time and even almost at death he does extra phases. That beam locks down at your location when come back from death and you don’t get a good angle to attack those beams=instant death. Good luck at consistency with this boss. Because it’s crap weird mechanics. Not usually worth my time.

Despite me calling them chaos storms they do know chaos damage. My character is CI and I still get instantly degened by them all the same.

The storms don't have a damage type, they will do unmitigateable damage that "rips you apart until you die" (maybe degen pantheon works, not entirely sure), and they will do much more damage the deeper in them you are.

Because of this video, I went in to Sirus for the first time, at only Awaking level 2, Sirus fight, and defeated with ease. I did die 3 times, because it is a new mechanic for me, but with this, I was able to understand what was going on. Again, thank you.

Imo what makes it feel bs, is that laser auto attack dealing a ton of damage, you go in, you get 1-2 shot, try again, if you have a build that likes being static to deal damage (i.e. anything else than minions or cyclone), it's pretty awful, the counter is just to run around in circles, just means if your build has a bit of a ramp up you'll struggle for no good reason.
there are no adds, so builds that rely on adds will struggle, though vaal breach or a flask charge on crit precision watcher's eye can be used.
and the biggest complaint I have is that it's red on red, which makes a lot of attacks hard to see if you don't know what to look out for.
the shaper is probably on par mechanics wise, but it is a lot clearer and you'll have time to adapt to the mechanics throughout the shaper influenced maps, where he shoots his balls and you see the vortexes, once you fight him the only new mechanics are the slam, which is the most deadly if you aren't prepared for it, the laser, which is fairly obvious and the bullet hell with an obvious "come to me"
compared to that all of sirius's mechanics are mostly new, in lower contrast and still requiring fast reactions.

Is he supposed to heal back to 50% at the 25% phase and follow the chaos storm and then sit inside it forever? I eventually danced around for 5 minutes and the chaos storm moved. By that point, Sirus was at the far top left and sat at the stairs and refused to move again. Arena just felt bricked, as those stairs coupled with a smaller area to work with just made it so much harder to dodge anything without a clear floor.

I have watched this video several times now and I am convinced I am playing a different game. Perhaps the mechanics are different on the xbox, certainly some things are harder (can’t precisely position the destination of your flame dash for example ) but in my first encounter, awakened 0 , level 91 freezing pulse totem heiroohant I was unable to lay a single hp on him and suffered 6 deaths, all nearly instant. When I first find him after threading through the storms, I am following your advice to stay under him. I plant my totems (which in 6 deaths never even fired once) then he drops what looks like a great blob - I am assuming it is one of these storms based on your vid - right on top of me and I am instantly dead. When I got smacked like this twice, I got clever and dashed in, dropped totems and dashed out only to have a bloody great thing fall on me and smash me dead. Another time dashing away from his “blob” at the start I dashed into a storm and - dead. Another time I drop totems and run away - this time well out of range of his meteor and storm and flame rays, my totems do absolutely nothing to him, and I wait around for a very long time, finally getting bored I carefully walk towards him and when I get close enough - bam I am dead. The last time I don’t even make it to him, threading two storms I guess I got too close (there is NO way of seeing the edges of these storms as they are black/red on black/red and on my Xbox screen they are almost indistinguishable esp to someone is partially colour blind )
An unbelievably f*cked uo boss which has totally put me off the game, and now having lost 60% experience I haven’t a clue how to get back to this fight, even if by some miracle I thought I might be able to kill him. A bitter ending to what had been the best league ever (I have played one character in each league since I start midway through harbinger - addicted to the game, but this has left a very sour taste )
Great video - much respect - but I would like to see something that resembles what I am seeing on the screen which doesn’t look anything like what yr video and others are showing (in no other video am I seeing sirus drop a big bloody blob on top of the character at the get-go) Maybe it is different on the xbox.

Thanks for the video, was informative, though I think its just my current build isn't suited to this fight at this point, and my DPS is lowish. 700k with pots but only 400k without. stormburst as main dps so stationary channel, and on console so no control over dash distance.
Subscribed. I went from getting completely owned through all 6 portals... to the very next time I tried I won with no deaths at all and I dont believe my health ever went below 50% at any point. Very very easy fight. Thanks for your guide!

Got him to the last phase, and, of fucking course, got the dreaded stair case. Now what? I have to run a shit ton of maps before getting a shot to fight him again!? GOD DAMN FUCK THIS GAME.

It can be a tough fight to learn. Him drifting to the stairs sadly is one of two things (fight RNG (there is a bug that causes it) or you taking to long in the storm phases.

Interesting to see how many mechanics don't show up on my potato.. i knew the mazes existed, but i never actually seen them spawn on my screen. never seen any degen puddle either.. and with some luck storm spawn before i'm dead :P did kill him 1 time, through the power of luck it seems :P
Beat him today as a summoner had 1 portal left . Felt so good to take him down and would of been easier if i had watched this beforehand.

That 2nd beam without clones always kills me when i am returning to the arena because he's off-screen. I think this is a mechanic that everyone complains about for this boss.

I still play specter build and for sure I dont like mechanic where key of fight is to go through narrow paths between storms because my specters just die. Thank you for all the informations, I did enter arena 2 times used two portals, then I start reading about the fight and when I was back into game partals were gone :( Now I have bricked atlas, no infuluence spawning,16 watchstones, ggg on vacations... I will try to get more life to minions, see how it goes but propably after the patch :(

Watched this video before my 2nd attempt. 1st attempt i didn't get even close to killing him. On my second attempt, I had trouble baiting the storms during chaos storm phase, but i got Sirus down to 20% hp! on last phase. Then I died for the last time :( Next time for sure!
Just watched this after yet another sirus fail so can't tell you if it helped yet but I definitely feel more confident for the next fight knowing how I can ditch the moving storms and dodge that 1shot kameha bullshit xD
Pretty sure the storm thing doesn't work any more. I couldn't get them to follow me whatsoever, they just went in a random direction, even if I tried fetching them.

I bricked my first fight, and I spawned him again (Awakening level 6) I got him with 2 deaths (both deaths were again to the degen storms - the fight itself is a cakewalk). I need to perfect those dang storms...I don't like the fact that a seemingly innocuous mechanic is the actual "difficult" part of the fight, but hey, now that I beat him I at least appreciate the "spectacle" of the fight. It's a pretty fight. Compared to the uber Elder fight, to me the fight seems far too easy, but hey I'm playing a minion metacuck Necro, so there's that.

Killed him for the first time with my slave driver summoner after seeing this, would've been deathless but I dragged a storm into the corner and didn't have enough space to get out! :D.
Mriswith2k I’m gonna attempt this with my slave driver summoners too. Did you have issues with your spectres dying to the storm?
@@LifenLifestyle2023 Yes, the only way I made them survive was with a cast on channel/cyclone/desecrate/spirit offering setup, (sadly this requires a melee weapon).
But it helps immensly since it keeps them topped up with that 20% hp -> shield, just keep spinning and convocing to keep them away as much as possible from the storms)
at 5 stones, 4 spectres is easily enough to dps him down, so sacrificing the 5th and keeping them healthy is probably the way to go (since slave drivers are super spastic -_-)

Don't know how I killed him the first time, I just did.
2nd time around, got ABSOLUTELY WRECKED by the chaos storms. Went it half asleep, instantly died to the first chaos storm.
Died 5 other times to the chaos storms that followed you... I didn't really know that only ONE of them is following you, and that you should "place" it somewhere, and maneuver around the map to get back to Sirus.
I just thought that if I go in a corner, it's going to hopefully go back (lol).
With this explanation though, it just looks like a shaper fight, but with tons of fucking balls already exploded on the ground, and touching any will insta kill you.
Still, just did shaper and elder for the first time today (after a few years of playing PoE), and those fights were 100x easier. - Maybe because I already knew the mechanics too well from watching videos like these.
But yeah, degen storm, pretty wack and hard.
Other than that, the fight is also easy. I can see why a lot of people get frustrated from that, but I also understand why it needs to be hard like that (since you know, they killed uber elder, and is supposed to be fuck tons better than them).
i still cant get it the storms and phasing him doesn't make sense to me

About 10 minutes into this video, I decided to do something else besides fighting Sirus... 10-20 minutes of dodging one-shot mechanics doesn't look very fun.

mine survived, I have meat shield so it is close to me and also have minion life support.
I always get killed either by bugs or by the beam. When dashing to find him, I end up dashing into the beam. Hate this fight. Great video though!

hate this fight man, lower awakening levels he is fine but I've died twice now at a5. Dont get to see him enough to practice. Such a bummer to get another chance I think I'm over it.
So I just tried it. He just locked himself up so I could not get to him. Shit fight. Without watching anything, I accidently opened when I thought it was ust normal boss, and could not watch vids before, was afraid the portals would timeout.. Now to prepare for next time, but holy fuck that was sheit.
After one death the entire fight was immediately ruined. I enter my second portal go up stairs run for the center and BAM!!! Chaos storms spreading out in all direction from the center. Instant death. Third time entering the portal and there is a chaos storm blocking my path to the center, so I try to go right and down but there is one going that way too. I am completely cut off from the boss.
Hands down one of the worst mechanically bosses I fought in a video game.
Could it have been a bug. Maybe so, maybe not. All I know for sure it put a real sour spot on the game for me.

First guide tell me save spots that the storm travael automatic away. Then i was died first time Phase 3 i cant go back to him because the storms block the way... Fight was over when i died first time...

The more I play this fight the more I love it, you have to actually engage on the mechanics and you have to learn them to do it. The only thing I think is kinda "bullshit" is the degen ground being almost imposible to see. Also, you missed it, that degen ground disables all recovery, so its REALLY dangerous. Loved the guide, but you need to add that degen ground to the list of mechanics you should know.

Not a true statement with a8 Sirus...he gets health back all the time and even almost at death he does extra phases. That beam locks down at your location when come back from death and you don’t get a good angle to attack those beams=instant death. Good luck at consistency with this boss. Because it’s crap weird mechanics. Not usually worth my time.
