Hi Marie - fellow learner (beginner) and Hailey fan here. I think I’m more of a visual learner, and one technique that’s worked wonders for me is writing crazy (and personally relatable) sentences with the word and translation. The weirder and wackier the sentence, the easier it is to remember.
Here are my notes/examples from Hailey’s Face Vocabulary video:
“The office pet lion bit my hands off when petting him, so I sent my resignation EEMAil with my FOREHEAD.”
Then when I thought of forehead these came mind: “office lion” “bit my hands off” “quitting my job” “email” “EEMA”, then 이마! Eventually 이마 came to mind first.
“Jennie won the 볼 (POLl) by a landslide for the cutest CHEEKs in k-pop.”
This obviously takes longer initially, but saved me time in the end. I also try to visualize it in my head like I’m recalling a memory. I first tried this with Hailey’s awesome face vocab video and it took about 2 hours to learn like 10 words, but I quizzed myself an hour later and only got one character wrong. I then purposefully forgot about it for a day then aced it. A week or so later and I can now recall the words without the sentences.
Excited to learn living room lingo today! =)
