When going into a job site, you should never have to go back out to get more tools from your car. In this video, we show you all of the tools that you should be carrying with you to a job site as a technician. At Bridge Cable, we go through this checklist with ALL of our technicians on EVERY job site. It is so important that all of our team members have everything that they need to get a job done safely and correctly, and they should never have to stop working on their project to retrieve something they forgot.
Tools every technician should have either handy or in their toolbox include: Ladder, rods, level, cordless drill, snips, label maker, toner/wand, screwdrivers, drywall saw and outline template, network tester, studfinder, RJ-45 crimpers, impact punch, tool belt, flashlight, stocked clipboard, walkie talkie and charger, uniform, hammer, tape measure, pencils, laptop and charger and RWC tester
Safety gear every technician should have handy: Helmet, steel tips, shields, high visibility vest, OSHA lift certification, first aid kit, lift safety harness
Some extra tips for having your tools and gear ready to go:
    1. Carry extra labels with the label maker
    2. Always have extra batteries or the charger for the tool or device
    3. Always test the network tester and similar devices before going to the site
    4. Add colored tape on your walkie talkie so you know who it belongs to
    5. Don’t use markers or pens!!!!!!
Our techs carry these basic tools and ensures success. For example we all carry the same label maker for either faceplates or the patch panels. If needed we can swap out each others gear and for speed it's all a standard. We have learned to streamline our gear and makes for a time reduction onsite and cost savings for your project.

Testing a new installation of CAT6 for security cameras is crucial in ensuring the system is functioning properly and that there are no vulnerabilities that could be exploited by hackers or other malicious actors. The best ways to test a new installation of CAT6 for security cameras include conducting thorough network scans, performing penetration testing, and implementing security protocols.
First and foremost, conducting network scans is essential in identifying any potential weaknesses in the system. Using tools such as Nmap or Wireshark, IT professionals can scan the network to detect any open ports, unsecured devices, or other vulnerabilities that could be exploited by hackers. By regularly scanning the network, IT professionals can stay ahead of potential threats and ensure the security of the system.
In addition to network scans, performing penetration testing is another effective way to test the security of a new installation of CAT6 for security cameras. Penetration testing involves simulating a cyber attack on the system to identify any weaknesses or vulnerabilities that could be exploited by hackers. By conducting penetration tests regularly, IT professionals can identify and address any security issues before they can be exploited by malicious actors.
Furthermore, implementing security protocols such as encryption and access control mechanisms is crucial in securing a new installation of CAT6 for security cameras. By encrypting data transmitted over the network and implementing access control mechanisms such as firewalls and authentication protocols, IT professionals can prevent unauthorized access to the system and protect sensitive information from being compromised.
In conclusion, testing a new installation of CAT6 for security cameras is essential in ensuring the security and integrity of the system. By conducting thorough network scans, performing penetration testing, and implementing security protocols, IT professionals can identify and address any potential vulnerabilities before they can be exploited by hackers or other malicious actors. By taking proactive measures to secure the system, IT professionals can protect sensitive information and ensure the safety of the network.
