    I like everything about this flashlight but the magnetic charger. Exposed positive and negative contacts with that charging pad and its the same size and shape as the button which adds confusion in the dark. Much rather a USB C port and no proprietary charging anyway.

    Hey, love my Skilhunt! I’ve been considering one of these but wondering one thing about the UI. Do you have direct access to turbo and strobe from moonlight mode? The UI graph makes it look like you have to turn the light off first, that would be a bit of a disappointment if so. Thanks!

    Thank you for this great review! Can you tell me which of the three led versions you prefer or recommend? I currently own a Fenix PD32 version 2016. How does the Nichia 519A version affect brightness or lumen when compared to the cree xp-l2 version or the Samsung LH351D?

    • @macvos
      @macvos 2 месяца назад

      Cree is brightest but worst quality. Samsung is less bright and in-between quality. Nichia is the least bright but the best quality. Depending on your view, the Samsung can be considered the best or worst of both worlds. Most people that have been using and collecting flashlights for a long time tend to prefer the 519A.

    The orange Olight i3T still looks the best (of all of them) and definitely a simpler UI but the Skilhunt is a real nerd machine. Olight need a 10440 i3r but they probably will make a one off battery as with the i5R which is an ok torch also I think. I guess I prefer low stress simplicity.

    • @kodyschmautz7799
      @kodyschmautz7799 Год назад

      The thing about olight is that they market to anyone and everyone they hope will buy a flashlight, to people entry-level in the flashlight game who are still focused primarily on max brightness and ease of use for the average Joe -almost all current models have on board charging and all come in turn key packages which is fine for a casual user or some ones first kit. But once you delve in a bit deeper you start looking for better emitter options and more run time and longevity. I admit it's been a while since I even looked on olights site but last time I did there was very little mention of what emitters we're even in specific models let alone a choice for the user. Not just only one choice for emitter but they could at least offer different bins and tints of said emitters that way nothing would really change from a production stand point.
      Skill hunt is most comparable to zebralight for the most part imo..and that is a good thing zebras are sorta the complete opposite of olight, they have almost zero advertising cuz they rely on a solid product and word of mouth within the flashlight/gear communities, and they don't release new models every week they find a platform that works and then just update it as technology progresses. USA founded and based company with Chinese manufacturing, but you can tell they have an exclusive to them manufacturer that makes shit a notch above the rest. I'm completely ok with the set up and saving 100-200$ a light. I recommend zebralight over olight

      @@kodyschmautz7799 They've done something recently with the i3t (voltage regulated?) and my new Carbon version takes a 10440 without going crazy bright as with the original and it seems slightly less cold in colour temp so I think it's better. I'm enjoying a white light Trustfire L2 atm amongst others but I definitely have enough now so can actually resist Olight or any sales, atm lol.

I was about to buy a couple Convoy s2+'s for a couple dollars less than another ts25, couldn't do it. Anduril 2.0 is amazing once you get the hang of it. Have mixed feelings about wireless charging.
      Stationary it might be convenient, but outdoors it's the worst way to charge a device.

      Don’t think this will happen.
      Copper and silver are very good conductors, so wires with these materials and a high enough diameter (depends on current) will have up to 99 percent efficiency.
      Air is a very bad conductor, efficiency really depends on distance between the devices and air conditions. 60% is a theoretical value of the Qi standard, which already is optimised, in reality it will be (much) worse, especially these proprietary standards.
      For really long distance lasers are used, but their efficiency is at best 60% (system) and in usage 15%

      Good morning. 6:00 a.m. getting up at 6:00 a.m., that's just not like me, it's still dark outside. I must be crazy. I don't have to get up at 6:00 a.m. today or tomorrow or the next day although I bet I will, lots to do I need to figure out if I've maxed out my credit card or what cuz I processed orders for these flashlights but I still have a nephew and a niece that need their orders placed. So to start the day, off on the right foot, I'm thanking you again. That light that incredible light with the colors with the strobe with the SOS that works the one smaller one that works both on rechargeable batteries and double a batteries, I mean wow. That's crazy incredible. And then the big one with the colors and the crazy light output and the user interface wow what a find. Each one of them is getting the small flashlight an extra rechargeable battery and a pretty decent backup of double A batteries, and they're getting a big flashlight I think it's the ec300 if my mind is awake and I'm remembering correctly they're getting that flashlight they're getting a spare battery based on what it says it comes with and they're getting a charger both incredibly reasonably priced I mean less than $20 for an extra battery less than $15 for the charger that looks like it may charge both rechargeable batteries for the big flashlight and maybe even the rechargeable battery for the smaller flashlight. Do you see? Why and how you solve my light issue? The only thing left as far as lights concerned is a headlamp. A good quality crazy bright headlamp. I have one I bought many many years ago, you see I used to do disaster rescue work after well, after disasters. Floods tornadoes hurricanes wildfires you name it unless it was a volcano or gosh did I work everything but a volcano hurricanes wildfires flooding tornadoes oh I haven't finished my first cup of coffee so I'm not awake quite yet yet if you know of a headlamp, I'm going to ask you for another favor, can you point me in the right direction? Something that uses rechargeable batteries it is crazy bright something that fits on your head really well not just wraps around it like a 70s jogging headband, but something that wraps around your head and goes over it too with a battery pack in back if necessary to balance the weight. I have one, I used to have two or three I bought them and use them they were great so they've been out for a while but I guess I bet there's so much better now where is my headband I'm literally looking for it can't keep track of my own head if it is an attached. Anyway a headband that uses the same batteries maybe one maybe two because I think the charger I got if it's the same they can all go in the same charger. If you could point me in the direction of one that you'd buy yourself or you'd buy a loved one that you want to be able to give the gift of light in the dark, hands-free to do with they want or need to do that can both light up a dark wood, or a long dark hallway, blinding anyone in its path.... Old rat, my talk to text transcription stopped I kept rambled on cuz I'm not awake yet I'm getting there with coffees help but it's taking a while. I just want to thank you. If you can help me find a headlamp that maybe uses the same battery rechargeable battery that the ec300 that amazing super cool unbelievable wonderful light you showed me yesterday. Showed us yesterday, you want to realize that all your hard work is worth it, stop and listen to to me here, you literally have given me the gift of light. So that I can give it to my nieces and nephews as gifts. You've given them The gift of Life light I meant light it said life but I'm leaving it because it's right light is life not just the gift of light, The gift of Life potentially. Wow I'm not used to having my mind blown it at 6:25 a.m. in the morning. I'm used to normally being sound asleep until noon. Wow. Thank you, sincerely, chris.

      @@maxlvledc Ya I don't think they updated their data. Not uncommon. Zeroair had a similar experience

    After Olight I’m no longer interested in any other battery/micro usb powering system…batteries are probably the most annoying thing in my household.

      Magnetic charging and stock cells is the best combo IMO.

    Side switch interfaces are _the tits._ Most AA or AAA flashlights use some wonky tactical half press/full press tail switch or twist/twist again head interface and they're all garbage nonsense. Olight really nailed the UI and I am glad that most manufacturers are copying their homework. I want an intuitive flashlight, I don't want to learn 100 different user interfaces and secret modes.

      The clip can be flipped any way you want on this light.
