The emperors biggest mistake was thinking Ruyi was like the Fuca Empress. The Fuca empress would've taken all his disrespect and not oppose him. He can't take someone standing up for themselves. Hence, why he liked ling all she did was please him and he liked that in her.
That's very true! In addition, unfortunately Ruyi had no strong family to back her up, so the emperor thought he could get away with treating her however he wanted. Plus her love for him made him take advantage, assuming she would never give up on him. Luckily he was wrong and she made it clear she was fed up with his nonsense!
Exactly like in the historical records. Ling even 8 month pregnant would break taboo to entertain him with fattening food. All the ministers opposed Ling being given honors much less made an Empress, so the Emperor never bothered. While Empress Nara was cherished by the entire court and people would risk advocating for her even decades after her death.
@@20PINKluvr Yes, indeed he viewed women as nothing more than doormats, sex dolls and baby-making factories. What an insufferable asswipe. It's a good thing that Ruyi finally came to her senses and saw his true face. She had wasted her life away loving a man who was incapable of love.
I can't help but keep thinking about the fact that this is the first time jingse called ruyi "Royal mother." I think she has realized how mistaken she was about ruyi
I wonder if she realized that ruyi wasn't the one who harmed her mother but more so her father did it. Even though he didn't directly kill the first empress, the pressure he put on her, along with the pressure of her clan was too much to bare
Jinse probably remember what Consort Ying told her about those who wants to climb to Empress seat and when she saw Ruyi's cut hair, she starts to realize that Ruyi is not after power and greed for Empress seat plus she investigate what Yanwan is teaching on her own son.
Just by seeing Hejing's extravagant head piece you can tell how spoiled and immature she is. Also, clearly can see how she regrets supporting Yanwan all this while instead of Ruyi.
I think jingse was thinking she got revenge for her mom but hurt her dad. She never realized how much losing ruyi would hurt her father. I think she might regret hurting her father but she still doesnt feel nad for what she did to ruyi
Because she sees Ruyi through her mother's eyes. Empress Xiaoxian thought of Ruyi as a threat, so Jingse will also think Ruyi was a threat to her mother, like Ling here is for Ruyi. Jingse also believes Ruyi is responsible for her bad match with the Prince of Khorchin, which made her mother heartbroken and contributed to her death. She truly believes Ruyi did harm her and Empress Xiaoxian. At least she saw Ling was a pile of shit and acted on it.

@@CantfeelthepainI thought that was his sister's husband that was living in the Forbidden City. He stayed drunk, shot the birds in the city and was generally a slob. His sister abandoned her husband and moved back in with her mother. The series never said what happened to her child.
@@Cantfeelthepain The emperor's. Both his daughter and sister came back to the Forbidden City due to bad marriages. His sister's first husband was killed. The emperor didn't do anything to protect her from her husband's killer. In fact he let the killer marry her to prevent a war that would have been very costly to him. Her husband was allowed to live in the Forbidden City. I never understood how both women were sent off to marry to keep peace and tribe loyalty, yet both returned to the Forbidden City with husbands in tow. Who is leading those tribes?
A Chinese history channel was of the opinion that she cut her hair because the emperor had promised there would be no Noble Consort while she was empress and the emperor made Yawan the Noble Consort. This is just speculation. There is no record of the reason.
Somebody here explained that she got estranged from her husband and he lives at the princess' manor, while she stays in the palace. It seems kind of weird to me, but maybe it's her priviledge as the emperor's daughter. Considering how important her clan's reputation was to Empress Fuca, Hejing Gongzhu should have cared a little more, I suppose. Maybe a tiny plothole? 🙂
Apparently, her husband did a lot of political mistakes and it enraged Emperor Qianlong. The Emperor says in one episode when she's back in the palace that he only didn't execute her husband because he didn't want to leave her a widow at such a young age. Jingse then told her father that her husband became estranged from her because she had a hard labour with their only son, and it made her unable to have more children, so he took concubines and started neglecting her, his official wife. Jingse then begged to live in the palace with her son instead of going back to her husband, and Qianlong of course approved it, because he was mad that his son-in-law would mistreat his daughter and grandson as well, besides the political thing. Pretty hyprocrite of him actually, since he did much worse with Ruyi. @@HSK.Lerner
