Tony, thank you so much for this incredible series. It's been a pleasure to follow and priceless to my bonsai learning journey.
I look forward to seeing this tree in person one day
Ah, fellow pumice/lava enjoyer! Good choice. Root growth in theese stones is insane.
Amazing just by changing the angle totally transformed
26:10 This must be the bonsai equivalent of the sewist's "bobbin roulette"! Just enough to finish the project (repotting) without having any unusable length wasted! It is oddly satisfying. But to focus on the bonsai; I love how the new angle shows a pleasing curve to the lower trunk that was not obvious in it's previous angle.
I love Hawthorns. What a lovely tree. Thank you for your videos. I learn so much listening and watching you 😊
Thank you very much. Inserting reference pics is much appreciated.
Great video. Made me realize my hawthorns are potted up in a way too wet soil mixture.
Thanks Tony, that's a beautiful tree, and I love that light coloured nicely textured bark. Beautiful!
Beautiful...fantastic work Tony
Fantastic looking tree, I have a very similar hawthorn that I collected this year.
Yes Tony! We’ve missed you. Knowledge like no other. You’ve taught me so much. Cheers
great video and great repot. she's a beaut and that new pot is great to take this to the next level.
Thanks Tony for sharing this informative series on hawthorns. Simply bonsailicious.
Timely video! I have a similar decision to make. A two year Yamadori Hawthorne but I think I will leave it another year as the roots are still lacking a bit of lateral flare from the air layering!
I must admit, I wouldn’t be so brave as to put it in a Bonsai pot after such a big root prune!
Great tutorial Tony. I’ve watched every episode and learned so much. Thanks for sharing your experience. Keep growing
A great front shows itself @ 7:10 at least from the perspective of the camera.
Hows the tree doing now after the repot, any updates please. Be nice to see how much growth its produced
Nice results 😮
Hi Tony, great video thanks. Which soil mix did you use? I've sources soils from the same supplier this year.
EXCELLENT 👍👍
Su'mae from 🏴 Tony! I've been using the "black bag technique" for a few years now with great success with collected/unhealthy decisuois trees, thanks to your blog/videos. Quick question though: Is this method also applicable to conifers, and to Pseudolarix/Larix?
only for deciduous trees
Great video Tony, amazing how much root it’s put on, I can only hope my bin bag hawthorns work out like that!
By the way, I also think the position at exactly 27:58 into the video could make an interesting front, it’s just hard to see which way the apex is pointing from the video at the point, just a thought anyway! Great work!
I tell you what, the image at right about 6:41 shoes a great image of a potential front from the back.
Hi Tony, any suggestions where to buy repotting mix here near Manchester area or online shops? Just curious whats the best mix for soil here in the north. Thanks!
I carry potting mix if you want some
@@TonyTickle wow that would be great. How can i get it? :)

How long do you keep your yamadori in the black bag?
watch the other videos in the series
What was the name of the pot maker? Gorgeous pot.

So put it in a training pot fir a few years to grow more roots. Then cut off most of the roots to repot it . Confusing
Change of angle and place in a proper bonsai pot… still confused?
Nice stuff. For how long have you kept it in the black bin bag?
Watch the other videos
@@TonyTickle I've watched it and I didn't get that info, till when you are keeping it in the bag. Only that you are misting daily and to keep it in full sun.
@@michastruzik4372 have you watch 2b? It’s covered in that video
@@TonyTickle I clearly have missed that one, thanks!
👍👌👌🙂🙂
