Create a safe haven. I have created a safe haven for my daughters and their friends at my home. I made a special comfy room in my backyard where they hang out, eat pizza or work out. These young ladies can visit me when they are feeling stress. It has been very rewarding for me to be a part of their lives. Helping them gives me so much joy! And these young ladies are good company for me.
"sometimes you can't grow into the next best version of you because you're keeping score on the last version of you." Yep sounds like me!

I spend so much time by myself, and it's tempting to say that I sometimes feel "alone". But, I'm beginning to appreciate this time that I have to get to know myself. God is teaching me His ways, and showing me who I am. In that time, He has led me to people like you who say things that affirm that spending and ENJOYING time with myself has value and is actually fulfilling...versus allowing myself to feel "alone". To say that your expressions are BOLs for me is an understatement! You are one of the first speakers that I encountered in my journey, and I am eternally grateful that God led me to you! Even through RUclips, I can feel your passion and sincerity for doing the work that God created you to do. I can only imagine how life-changing and transforming it will be to meet you. I believe that our paths will cross one day, and I look forward to sharing my journey with you, just as you are being so gracious and obedient to God by sharing your journey with us! Dearest Lisa, I am in awa what you talk to people about, what you talk about is my inner critic saying to me over and over again. I listened to many teachers, I read a lot of books, I learned and learned and learned. The hard way, just like you. I am challenged in so many ways, that I wished that I had only one challenge. If you think that being a black single mother with no skills that others appreciate. And you inspire people to make their future. I hear that you go boldly, and want to be just like you. With all my challenges, I want to be like you. I want to stop telling myself that I am not good enough. With all my challenges I had shown up in my life. You are my ultimate challenge, to be just like you. What do I admire in you? You show yourself, your total self. I will learn from you how to show myself, with all my challenges. And they are many. A scared little girl who sat hours each evening at table with my dad next to me who forced me to eat meat.. That was when my drive was born and that was the time when I tried to stand up fro my beliefs. All challenges that came after that time, got worse and worse. Because I was afraid to get punished. Afraid to be rejected, afraid to be shamed. Afraid of life. I learned from just one speach from you, that I can be like you. That in fact I am you, but am afraid to be you. So I am going to battle and go beyond the fear. Thank you so much... I really, really love you and realise when I write this sentence, that I finally allow myself to love me. I will follow you dear Lisa. You are amazing. Lots of love.. I am sending lots of love and light to you.. At the same time that I send this to me. I feel deeply connected to you. Even given the fact that I look totally different. For I am a white woman, past her youth, 59 years old, challenged by being an empath, being highly sensitive, conquering effects of brainhemmorhage when I was 17, and hernia, trombose, lung emboly. Challenged by feeling not enough. Challenged by giving and giving without daring to receive.i cannot say it enough, you are my inspiration to finally break through my fears.. I share your heart.
I thought this life was only for me. I to spend a lot of time alone, but I love it. I'm now spending the time to know myself better and have the presence of Jesus as my guidance counselor. I feel free coming out of a toxic relationship which drained my soul. I'm looking forward to meeting the better version of myself. May God be with you in your awesome journey.

I'm just finding this channel but never to late right. This so resignated with me learn how to ask the anchors in your life for their time "I feel lonely and I'd keep myself alone. Self care requires raising my hand" amen I needed that.
Carrying so much light. But living in an environment with so much darkness. Can be challenging. I definitely can resonate with Lisa. But listening to her struggle,acknowledging her gifts, and focusing on the big picture is truly inspirational. Much blessings 🙏🏾
It is not easy to take care of my mother who is always negative, so I get creative. I cook alot to help me deal with her negative moods. And I put her favorite movies to change the mood. I tell myself, I will still have joy, despite her mood. I don't feed her negativity. And fortunately, I get her to laugh and be happy by changing the home environment. And giving my mother hope, it a gift God has blessed me with.

Alexandria Reynoso thank you for sharing this I was going to ask Lisa about dealing with a negative elderly parent whom you love dearly. I’m not taking care of her but she lives in Georgia I live in Tennessee so we talk a lot over the phone. Everything she says is negative about other family members I state I’m not interested in others siblings or family information only what going on with her but sometimes I don’t know if my mom knows how to say positive things maybe possibly because of her up bringing so I sometimes let her calls go to voicemail. My dilemma is she is up in age I need to speak with her about certain health issues. Thank you for giving me more ideas to consider 🙏

I love her dearly, but she is going through depression and may not be aware of it, and I take care of her, so I find it a struggle living with someone who can be negative and give off negative energy, but I see this example given and I will execute it! Thanks!
My mother is negative too. Dont think she'll change and its draining. I have to keep my distance

I was listening to Les Brown (and still do) but somehow found Lisa. I am so glad she exists. And she is real.
My #1 BOL is her comment from her grandma, “if you want your ‘yes’ to have more power you need to excercise your ‘no’. ‘No’ is a complete sentence, it requires no explanation.”
I truly appreciate finding this. I am in the process of creating my own photography biz and brand and of ALL the folks I’ve listened to (Robbins, brown, ziglar, goggins, amongst others) she is the most real and relatable. But like she said use 3 or 4 things and make them yours. That’s been my life for the past 6 months. And those around me have noticed.

BOL!!! The YANA for me was that I’m the one to whom everyone can come, but I wouldn’t go to anyone for anything! I could do it, figure it out, etc. on my own, which was/is is correct, just not HEALTHY! When your 60-70% is the 100%+ of those who draw from you it can be daunting, but I’m beginning to create my own tribe of like-minded people and God is just stacking them up in my path...total strangers! I met one in the gas station just yesterday. Lisa, if it were not for you sharing your love the way you do, I would NEVER even have imagined that I need and want people in my life the way I do! My tears dropped when I saw your tears because I realize something about having faith. It is not about expecting great things to come all the time. my BOL was absolutely the part where you write down where you are, and where you want to be. And then inbetween you write the steps to get there. you both work well together. I had extreme negativity when I was a teenager from my parents. My aunt was a life saver for mr. She told me that it was not my fault and to stay strong. Mentors are so important for all of us no matter what our age. Now in my life I'm looking for financial freedom. I needed this😘😘😘😘😘😘

Thank you for providing content that speaks to my heart, mind, body, and soul. I feel like I'm late to the party, but I'm here now, and the DJ is playing my favorite song. I get up between 4 am and 5:30 am each morning and listen to you as I walk. I just now figured out how I'm going to record my #BOL moments from now on. I'm going to take an old cell phone and use the voice recorder app and everytime you give me a #BOL I'm going to repeat it while recording it.

"I just know that I am out there in different forms"......"Because once there is evidence that you can do it, then there is no excuse for you not to. I AM YOUR EVIDENCE! Lisa, I love this episode because you have really put yourself out there. I have a dream. I will build tiny houses for homeless single mothers. This is a cause very dear to my heart. I have been there raising my grandchildren with no place to go, and nobody to help me. Everyone needs someone sometimes. Thank you for your inspiration. You are a daily motivation for me.

Ahhhhhh Lisa!!! When you talk about being born a motivational speaker, I CAN RELATE SOOOO MUCH! Teachers would tell my parents, shes really smart but she wont get her own work done because she is so busy helping the other kids and not getting her own work done. And yesYES ABOUT things that other people found easy was hard to me, but speaking came natural and I have always thought till now that I could not fulfill that in a career until I finish my college degree that is still not done. LOL. I believe now is my TIME though and I am so excited to be apart of this tribe, and I love YOU!!! MY HEART HAS BEEN JUST THAT SINCE I WAS A LITTLE GIRL! I loved the part Lisa where you talk about enjoying your own company. The difference is not about "enjoying being alone in the absence of others" but "enjoying the presence of Lisa" ... Thank you for creating this space 🙏🏾 what I’ll be taking away with me is giving myself 6 months to emulate just a 5 traits of a leader I admire . I tend to be hard on myself sometimes for even within a week falling off a habit i that was mentioned to be beneficial in a book or seminar. I’ve always known God has called me to something big but like you At one point, I don’t know what that end looks like but I’m down for the ride of crazy faith and for funding my dream before I even know what it looks like! I felt it when you started talking about how u take Good care of yourself lisa.
About how he survived all those years in prison, Gandi replied "I didn't survive, I prepared." This is the perspective I remind myself of when I'm trapped in a negative situation/season of life.
Unfortunately, we can't control our mind but the good news is that we can change the relationship with our mind 🙂

I really needed this. I am you and you are me. So much you spoke about I can relate to. I still feel that if it is not hard or difficult then it must not be worthy to be a calling. Then there is the saying thank you. That's me all day. I will now say "I receive that". Next there is the asking for help as like a form of self-care. Whew am I guilty of that. Lastly, being feeling lonely but not reaching out. I love solitude because it refreshes me. However, I love people and want to help them. That's just some of the ones I can identify with.
