I like the idea of these bit holders as a means of holding the screw for one handed work , but i have rarely ever needed one . My left hand is the ideal screw holder and i have never misplaced it .
I bought one. I was at Lowe’s for something else and I couldn’t resist picking one up to go with the DeWalt driver/drill I got for Father’s Day. Nice add to the DeWalt tool bag that the drill comes with. Thanks.
Saw your video and had to order one!!! The item I didn't know I needed so bad!! Thanks
The silver ring on the end with the magnet is removable. Useful when removing a screw that was recessed to deeply or if you need to clean metal particles that collect on the magnet!
Thanks Geoff! I actually forgot to add that to the video, and was kicking myself right I'd the butt for it!
geoff are these good bits, or should i get a different make eg wera or makita?, thanks
@@lazycarper7925 Wera is my preferred still. The dewalt will get pulled into action if I want the stronger magnet. Never used the Makita version. The dewalt releases when you pull back while the Wera releases by pushing forward. This difference prevents the bit from being accidently released when driving a screw in to deep.
@@geoffgranger718 thanks wera is 10 quid, the dewalt is 7 quid, would you still get the wera based on that price?
@@lazycarper7925 Yes. This is one of the beefier items from dewalt, however dewalt can be more hit or miss to quality. Wera does use more plastic but not in a way to reduce quality. Unfortunately the plastic does feel cheap.
Great idea to incorporate right into the impact driver itself. Like the Ridgid (except the magnetic is still missing in the Ridgid).
Thanks for 5he tip, purchased the kit. Now I know what that bit will do.
I've had this tool for at least 5 yrs and dug it out of mothballs, because i was building a wooden fence and got sick and tired of dropping my screws on the ground and used it for the first time yesterday and loved it.. ps the only draw back i have found is when the screw is set the tip bounces out , but not always tried the dewalt , but the magnet kept breaking and i have two of the dewalt holders featured here.
I been using that for a few years now, I also have its bigger brother the 6" extension with the magnetic ring, after using these bit holders I couldn't imagine life without them. Nice review 👍
Thanks Gravity! I agree, they have all been pretty cool so far, but I have a few more up my sleeves
As a hardware installer I love the pivot holder, no quick release mechanism but it's super handy for tight situations and I keep a pair of needle nose pliers to switch bits which I don't have to do often because I mainly use Phillips screws. It is magnetic too.
I actually just bought it, but haven't had a chance to use it yet. I've heard a lot of good things about it though
Hey Clint! Great Video! I just got the Milwaukee version in the mail and gonna put it to the test. I might even purchase the DeWalt and do a comparison video. Awesome review dude, thanks a lot!
Thanks John! Keep up the great work bo
Ha ha ha, I have this bit holder and it is a very cool addition to my DeWalt tools
this would be a cool bit holder to talk about I own the same one Bosch ITBHQC201 2 1/4", Impact Tough Quick Change Bit Holder
Just what i need!
Nice review. I will look for one of these. If only it came with a stainless steel magnet.....
That bulky head is a hassle for me. Tnx
Thanks , but as a mechanic my main issue is bit breakage I’ve been using Irwin bits for last year but last week I broke 3 🤢 they just can’t win on these as if not hard enough they strip if to hard they snap. The heat treat is hard to do when cost is the goal
I have the little yellow one. It does the same job, but it is much more of a pain in the ass if you are changing bits alot. To the good, it is a more compact setup.
Depends on what you are doing and where you are doing it, I suppose.
I like these, but when I don't want a magnet on the end, or a need a longer reach, I go with an impact extension made by Bosch - them come in 6 or 12 inch lengths. It has a blue ring that you pull to release the bit, and I've never had any trouble getting a bit out of it, or had a bit fall out when in use.
I have the Dewalt angle bit holder,it fits into my Bosch 1/2 /1/4 square drive impact driver, it is just right to fit in the pull back locking collar, I am amazed I never had one before, and the magnetic hold is ok,
Currently clearance at tractor supply in a small kit. 5.99 with 8-10 black DeWalt 1" drive bits. Grabbed 3 of them. Magnet works great. As for the lock and release it works okay but compared to my Wiha locking bit holder the manufacturer quality is night and day. Action of the Wiha is easily
superior. Feels very precise and tactile
Wera ring magnet! With that, it releases the bit by pulling the collet forward so it won’t drop the bit or release it if you overdrive the fastener. The dewalt will get pushed back by the material you’re fastening and then release the bit. The wera has much better construction than the dewalt as well.
and three times the cost
I was so impressed with the video, I just ordered one off of Amazon. Just too lazy to go to Lowes to pick it up.
Barry
Let me know how you like it Barry!!!
The magnetic holder is amazing, helps one handed driving of screws. But this looks to me like they've ripped of Wera Rapidaptor as it's effectively the same thing and been out over 10 years.
Thanks for demo, must get one
Siiiick intro!!!🔥
What if your driving screws at an angle? Does it set the screw below the surface?
That's cool! Thank you!
I hit the like button around the 8th or ninth “cool” lol too funny bro. This is the first TRZ video I’ve seen so I’m headed over to the channel now to verify whether I shall be ringing the esteemed “bell notifications.”
You are the man Jay. Thanks for the comment brother
Maybe they'll make on of the same with a stronger magnet. Lets hope
What is the “Makita magnet we’ve been using” that is stronger than this one. Model please. Thanks
Type makita in the youtube search box. Don't be lazy.
@@mynameisgladiator1933 Yes, like Makita only makes magnetic bits, nothing else is going to show up when you type Makita 😒
@@Zink66 kkkkkkkkkkkkk
That is definitely ...
*COOL😎👍💯 KOOL 👀👍KEWL 🤩👍Cewl !!😍👍💓*
SO KEEEEWLLL!
Can u use large sockets say in a garage on cars with a hex head impact end driver and use to drill metal wood and masonry and concrete
Oh man I thought it had a swivel feature there for a second. This is another I'll most likely add to my other bit holders. Great job on your videos.
I actually have the one with the swivel head slams. I haven't used it yet, but I'll be posting the video this week. 👊👊👊
@@ToolReviewZone Awesome, looking forward to it. I just picked up the Makita Gold and will be using it soon.
I’m going to try this bit!
Does this product hold up well screwing it on metal surfaces constantly?
my brother gave me a dewalt dc925 xrp and it's not working and i wanted to change the brushes to see if that will make it work. but i don't want to spend money on an impact wrench so my question to you is can i buy the dewalt impact wrench adapters 1/4 3/8 and 1/2 to change parts on my car so please let me know
I was watching this video, when my wife walked in during the "Whaaaaaaaaaa? Cool! Cool! Cool! Cool! Cool!... " segment. She said, "That guy's weird, Danny." LOL!
Lol, can't say she is wrong hahaha
LOL!
@Fretboard Burner, she was walking through the living room, into the kitchen. She was actual cooking my dinner at the time. So I should get bonus points.
She made cheeseburgers for supper, which are technically sandwiches. So she was actually just passing through on her way to make me a samich.
Would like it, would love it with your suggested improvements.
I tried it. I like it. Does good things. Good addition to the tool box.
Thanks for the feedback Hubby
I just bough the impact driver is it normal for the chuck to have some play to it?
As a mechanic, I’m relieved to know I’ll no longer be dropping wood screws into my engine with this attachment.
Have one and I've used it regularly. No sign of wearing out or getting wonky.
Love it Sir 👌👌
I use this bit holder... It's very practical and handy. Nice video.
Great video thanks, but for me the best is Wera Suporte drill bits👌👌👌 lenghts here from Portugal 🇵🇹🇵🇹🇵🇹
For roofers the ejection tool (like on the Bosch) is a little bit too good... some bits get thrown out and you have climb to find your expensive little tool.
i have one of those exact pieces, and another one that is a bit beefy- ier one that came with a screw driver (dewalt), i love those things, but i'm having a problem finding them locally anymore, i've had mine for at least 5 years and they are finally getting a bit beat (no pun intended, it just worked out that way) i spray them occasionally with whatever lube i have on hand, and occasionally blow them out with the air line at work (auto body, 120 lbs per sq ft of pressure) and they still work, it is a permanent resident in my main drill driver
I love the bit driver but Rigid impact driver has this feature built in with the 1 hand bit removal.
Does it require special bits or any short ones will do for holding a screw ?
This bit isn't bad still love my makita magnatizer little better but it's a good set of accessories
I have this type of bit by Dewalt but the tip is plastic but it releases the same way. I also have the dewalt plastic magnetic sleeve too. I like this being all metal. Keep the quest going.
The quest shall continue my bro!!!!!
The metal one is much more robust and adaptive than the plastic dealio, I have the plastic ones also but I never use them...
I like the Bauer bit
I wish the business end didn't have such aggressive knurling to help prevent scratching the work surface if the head brushes over the material stationary or while spinning. Otherwise, it's a really good design utilizing one handed operation. Perfect for ladders and tight spots.
I went online and ordered one. Simply cause j made me chuckle with the cool cOOl Cool Cool.
Haha, thanks Chance!
@@ToolReviewZone Cool
where can i order it online?
Great video Clint
Thanks Antonio!!!!
@@ToolReviewZone sorry about the link bro was just trying to help
Great review Clint 👏
Thanks Fab 👊👊👊
Thank you
OMG! All this time I've been yanking it out with pliers. Tried to remove the inner ring many times to loosen the grip without success.
I go to my toolbox, wrong dewalt bit holder. Still need pliers.
Yep, will get it next home depot trip
Let me know how you like it Howie!
i have the same type of holder but its METABO it wass in the bit set i bought 20 years ago
Sir i have dewalt titer model number dcd 796 this adapter set the model pls tel me
I know older videos but I have one use it in a lot of times good investment 👍👍
I like the look of it closest bit holder I have to that dewalt is my Bosch it has a collet like an impact driver but the bit is not seated as low as the dewalt version
Many thanks for this, I will have to get one. Kind regards, and greetings from Africa.
You welcome David!!!!!
Great videos. Thanks for making them fun and interesting. Can you provide a new affiliate link to purchase this bit? The current link doesnt work . I’d like to order one and give you the credit.
I'm buying it right now!
Let me know how you like it Jose👊
@@ToolReviewZone what website can i buy it?
Here's a question, why don't manufacturers just make those damn bits magnetic!!!!!!!!
Soft metal
Then they couldn't sell us these things.
Just buy a magnetizer
@@Tre16 I use an old subwoofer magnet
so what's the best bit & screw holder?
Got a new link on where to purchase this, the one in the description doesn't go anywhere?
COOL!
Certainly makes job easier.👍👍
This is my favorite part too 😍 Waaaaaaaaaa!!! Cooo😂😂😂oolll!!
Great tool
is this adapter have a model number? ask because i want to buy it . i went to HD they don't have it n LOWE'S they don't know what is it. thanks for the video. have a nice holiday. BE BLESS
That’s cool. Also congratulations on 28k
Thanks Dan Da Man!
I like that bit... thanks for the GREAT VIDEO and your thoughts too.
Thanks for the feedback and comment campmeim!
Cool, I dig it
very nice job well done keep up the good work
Thanks David!!!
I just purchased a dewalt XR dcd991 drilldriver and it makes a click / thud sound when I let offf the trigger. Is this normal or should it be returned?
Sometimes on my ridgid it makes that sound when it stops, but not sure what the thud sound would be? If you don't feel right about it, you could always turn it in for another
I prefer the magnetic rings that slip over any bit
I love the Makita one, and also have a really powerful one that I was going to show from another brand
@@ToolReviewZone i think the one i have came in a set of irwin bits
The perfect drive was made over a century ago: Robertson. The bit will hold onto the screw like nothing else. So much so that it's sometimes difficult to remove! Overall, better than Phillips.
I’m assuming these wouldn’t keep a fastener magnetised whilst using a 50mm long bit as opposed to the little bits as it would be too far away for the magnets to pull the screw ?
really would depend on what material the 50mm bit is made of.
I was about to say are you starting a collection of magnetized bit holders but it's great because we'll find out which one is the best one
I may need to mortgage the house for how many are out there lol. I've actually tried a few that I just tossed out because they were crap, so only putting the cool ones up
Tool Review Zone lol maybe you do have a lot or maybe you can give them away
@@ToolReviewZone Tell us the names of the crap ones so we won't waste our time...
It looks great but I embed screws into wood at angles and close to inside corners. It's a no-go for my purposes. I'll stick with the perennial drywall screw gun style magnetic bit holder with which there are no restrictions. I love innovation in any case.
As a specialties contractor, I work ins9de a home, typically 9’ or more u- from the wood floors. I wear a holster for my drills and drivers. I re ent,y had a DeWalt Quick-Connect fail, and the 6” bit fell to the floor, much to my chagrine. Customers don’t like OT hear, nor see the damage a tool ca make on their wood floors. How does this DeWalt work when holstering / unholstering a drill all day long? I’ve temporarily gone back to my Ridgid 12v impact with quick-connect, but I’d like to find a solution for my 12v drill.
This actually holds the bit in very well. As for the screws, the magnet is not as strong as the Makita one that I reviewed, but does a good job
link does not work. what is the part number and name of this dewalt device?
Amazing
I wonder what benefits were to that bit and I'm on my way to buy one now
Let me know how you like it 👊
I absolutely love the idea of it being a magnetic bit holder. However, as far as using it for small framing tasks, I can't see how the head of the screw will self-counter sink when toe screwing through the end of a 2x4 like you can with a commonly used straight shank bit. It seems the shoulder on this bit holder would be prevent the countersink. I could be wrong. Anyways, nice locking feature.
Works good. I likes.
Good video
The link doesn't work. Where would you buy one please?
Cool tool
how do adjust the bit for sheetrock application? As it is out of the package...the bit sinks the screws too far into the sheetrock.
I did a review for an adjustable one that actually works well. This not so much for sheetrock
What is the difference between this and the regular DeWalt magnetic screwdriving bit drive guide with the sleeve? Don't they both do the same?..... I am sold. I am going to get the DEWALT TOUGH GRIP 27-Piece Steel Hex Shank Screwdriver Bit Set at Lowe's today as it is currently on sale for only $9.98 (retail $19.98) and it actually comes with this Tough Grip rapid load tool as well as the regular magnetic screwdriving bit drive guide too. It even comes with 4 hex drill bits too. I compared the Tough Grip rapid load tool to this magnetic screwdriving bit holder and the difference is a "SureSet magnetic fastener holding system".
I have 1 but will get more the r so awesome bro
Yeah bro, absolutely 👊
Will it drive a sheet metal screw into sheet metal?
Nice video can it work on cement to ?
Cool 🤣🔥
2:14 A mechanic don't use construction, deck screws or even general purpose screws. Screws are usually used on some interior trim pieces, but you don't need a power tool to loosen or tighten those.
Cool
