I just recently heard that if you are entitled to alimony it is still the law that you have to provide it if your ex is in jail. At least until you go to family court to have it reversed. I believe they covered her and the alimony issue on Surviving the Survivor but can't recall if that's where it was with certainty

Desperation. When the previous judge said she had to defend herself she quickly realized that she was not up to the job.
She really thought she could delay this longer. She thought her case was so remarkably different, it would pave the way for landmark case law. Then the judge slapped down some unyielding deadlines. She ran out of time, and had to choose whether she is the smartest person that excels at everything, or an unprepared, unstable, and incapable disaster; can't be both at the same time.

Owens drives me up the wall. The spaghetti-on-the-wall with irrelevant and bad faith motions is one thing. The worst is his notion that the prosecution must and has not provided particulars of the cause and nature of her charges and that this is a "unique" case. No! It's absurdly simple. She zipped him in a suitcase and didn't let him out. What bizarro world is this where that is not obvious?
After watching her take the stand the other day I realized how wrong I was. I realize that she is THE POSTER CHILD for raging narcissism but I also kinda thought that these years of incarceration and being forced to get sober may have given her some clarity and realization regarding what happened that day and how horrendous her actions were. Clearly I was wrong. She has decided to double down on this crazy "battered women and self defense" approach. It solidified the disgust I already had for her and is making a mockery of women who genuinely have had to use the battered women's defense. I believe that the jury will feel the same disgust once she takes the stand.

My opinion is that he swooped into this trial planning to get her a sweet plea deal, which he did. He seems a bit nervous regarding the trial going forward because he is totally unprepared and perhaps expected a continuance. Doesn’t seem like he is still fully aware of his clients back history with this judge.
