Great Information thank you for this video. I have a friend that didn't go the dietitian route but works in the food service equipment industry and gets paid REALLY good.
I have a bachelors in nutrition and dietetics completed outside the US... Now I'm stuck and dont know what to do since I'll need a lot of effort to actually become a RD here which seems worthless after all (as I see from other people's experiences). I'm considering changing my career to become something less stressful on the longterm like dental hygienist, I'm just afraid of taking the wrong decision
With dental hygiene just keep in mind the stress on your body. Carpal tunnel in your hands, neck and back pain. I was a dental assistant for 6 years and no longer want to be a hygienist.
Nutrition professionals with a Masters degree can qualify for state licensing and can bill insurance, you dont need to be an RD, look up your state laws
Thank you. I have been trying to figure out how I am going to live after graduation. I dont want to be an RD! But I did want a consist/steady income/career.
I love food health and nutrition but I wouldn't be able to help others or give nutritional advice if I'm not a dietitian or become a cde in my state of Louisiana. Thanks for this video!!
wow.......thank you for the information. But I am pretty sure there are not many positions in the food industries... I am seriously thinking of dropping out...
@@EatRightGuy I did thought of it when I was in 1st grade... but not anymore :( sorry for all these complains...I got annoyed after seeing bad emplyment rate from my major :((
Anyone here looked into getting the "Certified Nutrition Specialist" certification? I'm an RN currently looking into a MS in clinical nutrition. Looking for any experiences?
@@EatRightGuy I'm still working in acute care as well as cardiac rehab which is an outpatient setting. Great video thanks for the content. I'm currently finishing up my bachelor's in Health science and pondering entering the nutrition field. Do you have any recommendations for a health/nutrition related career with this type of degree?
Hi everyone, I'm in my last year of high school and I'm so confused about picking a major: I love cooking and eating healthy, reading nutrition info and helping others, so I thought Dietetics was right for me, but now I find out that I don't enjoy working in hospital and lab setting. Should I go another path and just take food and nutrition as my personal interest - like being a food blogger for instance - or are there any career in dietetics that don't require working in hospital and lab setting? If someone can tell me something about this, I'd really appreciate it. Thank you in advance!!
If I go down the BS in Nutrition (Dietetics emphasis) route but not complete the internship or exam - basically get the degree and stop there - would I still be able to use it and get into one of these careers? What about pursuing a BS degree in Nutrition and Fitness (no Dietetic emphasis)? Which is better?
Yes you will be able to get into one of these careers. A bachelor's degree in nutrition and fitness and a bachelor's degree in dietetics without pursuing becoming a dietitian are basically the same thing. You just won't take the medical nutrition therapy classes that are required for the dietetics major
Hi, do you have any advice for someone who is majoring in a Bachelors of Public Health, but wants to work in the nutrition field, without being a dietitian?
@@EatRightGuy Thanks for your response. It's really a shame that people put the work in and it's not worth anything. Is AFPA Fitness a credible program?
