Thank you Ima! I’m currently making that transition to become a food scientist. After my 10 year career in Nutrition & Dietetics. I’ve done so much and realized where I really want to be. Your videos really help to make it clear where to go next.😊🧡✨
I thought about baker science, or grain science or milling science or feed science or even dairy science. This is because I loved baking with my mom growing up and always wanted to help food especially baked goods become more healthier and combine protein and deserts together. I enjoyed more of doing the work then the math and science. I was a very slow student and did not take chemistry and biology in high school. I also took an animal nutrition class and loved it.
Hmm. that's interesting. It seems as if nutritionist in the US is more similar to dietitian than it is in my country (Sweden, it's in Europe). I'm going to study nutrition and there's a big focus on public health and also quite a lot of focus on biology and chemistry and I even think some physics. I'm super excited about it and even though food science and nutrition aren't exactly the same, they're close enough for me to feel inspired by you and your videos! My dream is to work with public health and helping as many people as I can to become more healthy and help spread information and try to make healthy food as accessible as possible.
Hii Ima. Im 17. I have been searching for jobs that study the science behind food (how they are prepared before they come to our tables). I didn't want to be a chef per say, but i wanted to study food and i was so stressed out that what i wanted to do didn't exist. However, now that i found your channel, i am so happy and relieved that I'll able to follow my dreams. Thank you for talking about food science in depth. Also, you're very pretty. I hope to be like you one day. :D
Hi Ima! Though I'm not studying food science or nutrition, I found the information you've shared so insightful. I'm finding food science and nutrition really interesting lately, as my family has been adjusting our diets for health reasons. I did just graduate, majoring in kinesiology without having taken a single nutrition class. But I honestly regret it because I'm sure I would've taken so much from it. You seem so sweet and passionate about this field, it was so motivating and that example with the avocado was actually really helpful. I hope to be as excited as you on my path as well! Thanks:)
Yay I love your videos! I’m a Food Technologist in R&D. It’s cool to see a lifestyle vlogger who does something similar to me :D especially someone from Chicago, I’ve always wanted to move there!
Hi, Ima! I am a food technology student from Asia, specifically from the Philippines. It is nice to hear you are working in a project in Asia. In my university, our curriculum includes Food Laws and Legislation which is a subdiscipline under Food Technology. It is the specific track for those who want to become regulatory specialist :) It is nice to see and watch an FT from this part of the food industry. Regarding Food Science and Technology vs. Nutrition
just wondering if you have a friend or someone you know that study nutrition and do a video together talking about certain topics around food, diet, health, science, event to business or marketing, sustainability etc and see if you both will have different opinions or similar opinions.. I thought that would be something interesting and cool to watch. just a thought for some content to add in your channel :)) otherwise you did very well explaining the difference between the two fields. well done hope you are doing well :)
Hi, thanks for the video its really insightful, I wanted to ask whether a food and nutrition student can pursue their career in the food industries and not on clinical side? I have done my bachelors in nutrition and dietetics and planning to pursue my masters in food and nutrition. My interest mostly lies on the industry side, looking forward to your reply!
hi i’m a sophomore in high school and i’ve always been interested in food related topics. i’ve been thinking about food science as a future career. though i don’t like human biology. i don’t wanna regret my future decision. i just wanted to ask what led you to being a food scientist? did you always want to be one or did something else lead up to that?
They do have some similarities, but they are not the exact same. Consumer Science focuses on relationships between people and their personal environments. Food & Nutrition is a subject that gets highlighted in Consumer Science because it is an important aspect that impacts a persons well-being & relationships.
Hello.. I am from food science and technology background and looking forward to do masters in food science in the UK.. Would you please recommend me the best specialization in food science for women..
