Nice Jason! I remember talking about this drop. Crashing dad 140 travel in the chunk? I like how light short travel bikes are and how nimble they feel, however I like how 160mm bikes are more forgiving and feel through the chunk.
Yeah I think that kashima coating, xtr and carbon fiber is the major key. Just like wearing air Jordans on a ride, you can clear any gap jumps no problem.
Congrats on your new RM. I had a 2018 that was 140mm/140mm. Personally it was a great all rounder trail bike. I sold it because I wanted little less wheelbase length whip.
Beauty of a rig. Don't mean to be this guy but...I strongly suggest you slightly raise your dropper post. Oneup among other brands strongly recommend you leave an inch or so of room between the Collar of the dropper and the seat post clamp. Cheers!
Thanks Jared 🤘🏽 Interesting… I dug into the one up v2 dropper post Item Info page, the length selector tool, and install instructions, FAQs, and I don’t see any mention of that… they do say that they’ve optimized their droppers to have the shortest insertion for length and shortest stack from collar to rails… That makes me wonder if I’m screwing something up by fully inserting…😬 I think I’ll reach out to OneUp for clarification 👍🏽 Thanks for the heads up
I had a 2019 BC upgraded to the XO 10-52, etc. and i sold it maybe 8 months ago, i have a line on a 2021 caron 90 for an excellent price and its MINT, Not many carbon 90's around, thats good to know you feel the GEO is improved and also the cables under the BB and hidden now, cool paint job also. My 2019 was that beautiful orange
I think you’ll be pretty happy with the new Geo (nothing against the old geo… I felt at home on it) but it’s a different ride experience. In a good way 🤷🏽
@@TheCrashingDad Yes considering the list price and that bikes are rare now especially the carbon 90 a great deal but it's the economy that's scaring potential buyers, it's been for sale for a while, i think i will grab it though.
Hello CD, Can you tell me if the bike comes with the wheelbase set in the short or long position? And if the wheelbase numbers RM gives is for the short or long wheelbase setting? Thanks so much.
They come out of the box from Rocky Mountain in the SHORT position - which is also the measurement that they list - and then the chip lengthens it by 10mm. happy to help! Cheers!
my bike has 62deg head angle, and it feels great, no issues at all. Chris Porter from Geometron used a bus analogy, but in the opposite direction. to describe old bikes with long stem and steep head angle. in the video Geometron Bikes: an interview with Chris Porter at 6:16 he talks about steering.
