    Listening to this as someone who's recently entered the world of work and unsure if my current role is really for me, I find this so inspiring! Thank you for sharing your life journey and lessons with us, it means more than you could imagine!

      Totally Andrew. A lot of things seem so linear in hindsight but at the time is really uncertain. I’ve felt that way so many times in my career because of the number of transitions. And that’s okay. It’s all part of the discovery process to find what’s truly for us. Good luck with your own journey Andrew and may the new year bring you closer to what you’re looking for.

    Thanks so much for sharing your full story :) Today I was also reading a PM newsletter by Deb Liu, and she suggested exploring a multi-platform career such as writing, advising etc., instead of focusing on a single platform. Really looking forward to your future content!

    Thanks for sharing your story. It is so easy for people to dismiss others who do not have a linear career path. Your professional journey is proof that we need to think creatively about professional value and how it is attained. "A jack of all trades is a master of none, but oftentimes better than a master of one". Thanks for sharing!

      Ahh thank you for sharing the second half of that quote! It is becoming even more important to have diverse mindsets and skill sets in the face of an uncertain and rapidly changing future. There are a lot of antifragility elements like optionality we’ll talk about in the future.

    Wow thank you for sharing your journey with us. I'm a change management consultant, but before that I experience so many things and I'm glad I did, curiosity is my motivation, I'm like a little kid looking to learn and discover something new everyday. 😄

      What better experience for a change management consultant than going through change itself? ;) Let's never stop being childlike and curious!

    Hi Sheng! Thank you for sharing! Newbie here, bio and econ major and two years in startup operation. I rather work at another startup than go back to organic chem!
    I was wondering if you can do a video about the signs to look for in organization restructure, lay-offs or failing startup, something along the lines of how to know when to leave. Also, a video on execution, having a detailed plan can be different from executing the idea in uncertain and evolving companies. As always, keep the videos coming! :)

    • @ShengHuang
      @ShengHuang  2 года назад

      Hey Annamaria, thank you for dropping by! Great questions that I'll keep in mind for future videos. In the meantime, I came up with a framework for determining when to quit: www.silverandsteel.org/steel/when-should-you-quit-your-job. There'll be a video on this soon too. Yeah I agree the startup environment is very different from large corps, especially as we go into uncertain turbulent times.

    What is the purpose of life @Sheng Huang

    • @ShengHuang
      @ShengHuang  2 года назад

      This is part of the answer Muhammad: ruclips.net/video/_JgWVAPsXas/видео.html. Ultimately I think it is for each of us to find meaning in our lives through connecting with others, nature, the past, present, and future. This is my definition of spirituality in fact - that is the feeling of being connected to a greater whole. The inverse is also true - things are anti-spiritual if they tear us and divide us. Anyways, that is topic for another video and another time :)
