    Good review video, enjoyed the info. I’m new to 3d printing and have been messing with my A1 mini for a month or so now with PLA. I just recently got some Voxel PETG to try as my first PETG. I’ve only made a few prints so far, started with something very small I had printed before in PLA and I was very happy with how it came out. My next one was something a little bigger and I had some bed adhesion lift on one side. The part was still usable for what I needed but definitely need to solve that. I’m sure it was an issue I created myself but looking forward to trying to dial it in.

      That is awesome! Some tips for PETG and the A1, and A1 mini that I found work well for me. Up the bed temp a bit, 2 to 3 degrees to start. Under speed, slow down your initial layer infill 10 or so mm and see if that improves your first layer adhesion! Thank you for watching.

    I print pretty much exclusively petg on my P1p the cheapest I can find mainly now but have used esun, polymaker, overture, bambu and more. I cringe at the thought of having to have a seem let alone a gap or defect in my prints.
    I found nearly all of the stringing issues I have disappeared after disabling z hop. I also found that many of them don’t like retraction, you seem to get a lot of defects at the start of each layer for around the first 50-70mm and after every retraction I discovered this by printing a long tall wall with a seam dead centre and a series of 0.8mm pillars and just played with one setting at a time till I got somewhere . I use 0.4mm most of the time more causes issues and bump up the deretraction speed and pretty much every petg prints grate.
    I always print 265 first layer and 260 everything else and bed at 80, no fan first 3 and then set to 10-40%fan 30% seems to be produce more strength overhangs at 100%. I found better strength and layer adhesion at higher temp and low fan. Also lower speeds with petg seems to give stronger parts.
    Hope this can help with you in some way if you haven’t tried already. It’s allowed me to use almost any petg with good results.
    Forgot to mention I’m currently printing tinmorry petg from Amazon costs £10.99 for 1kg

      @@ThePrintasaurus thank you for your very informative content and no worries hopefully my musings will help others out. I also found to get a good surface finish you need to under extrude but this leaves little gaps better to adjust the z offset by 0.02-0.05mm as petg is oozy and likes to leave ridges.

    My goto all-around, particularly for PETG and ASA, is Polymaker (Polylite). Great, consistent results and the cardboard spool works just fine in the AMS.

    If you're into easy printing PETG with a great color selection you should check out Protopasta. Not as many colors as CA filament (14 vs 40+) but the colors are different than most places. Also thier stuff is a bit expensive, but I really like it - esp the Amy's Blood of My Enemies translucent red. Also, they were the original cardboard spoolers, if that matters to you.
    One critical comment on the video: the printed parts you were showing off while holding in front of yourself were not in focus. Maybe you're using autofocus with facial priority or something IDK, but the parts should be in focus if print quality is the 'focus' of the video. Otherwise I say good job! I like your choice of filaments and also your choice of test prints. I've never heard of California Filaments so I'm gonna give them a try. I have tried Atomic and had some issues like you did. Since there are plenty of others I don't have trouble with I'll probably stick with those.

    The VoxlePLA PETG has a recommended 260C nozzle temperature. I found that I need that at least their white PETG needs this temperature or it falls apart while printing. The bambulab preset is 245C which is considerably lower. The Voxle white PETG is VERY white and loaded with TiO2.

    • @ThePrintasaurus
      @ThePrintasaurus  4 месяца назад +1

      Yes the Voxel was 260C, I have it on my graphic but could see how it may of been missed. Need to make those settings larger so they are easier to see. I really liked the voxel petg, I wish they had more color options as I do a lot of multicolor prints in PETG. Appreciate your feedback, and thank you for giving my videos a watch!

    There were guesses on who makes Bambu filament -- some were suspecting polymaker -- which would make sense with printing profiles being similar, some tweak here and there to formulas. I like their PETg -- very similar to bambu

    Gotta love how hard your printers are working but they don’t intrude on your voice. Also interesting video. I’m currently printing mainly eSun petg due to how easily available it is at my local electronics/maker retailer 3 minutes from my house and I typically buy petg as a last minute/emergency “I need it now” kind of thing instead of planning 😂. I’m looking at a more budget/online option however as I know I’m paying too much for my PETG.

      With the Bambu Printers after one of the more recent firmware updates the noise cancellation has been great. I've used a lot of esun PLA. Have not tried the PETG. I have to order everything, unfortunately I'm not close to anyone that sells filament locally!
