Way too fast, don't need the crappy music nearly as much as some good commentary about how to do it - especially the completely missing part about seating the new seals!
Hi I think this is the first time i have seen some one using a very long socket to be use as inserting into the folk to aid the removal of the Allen bolt at the under bottom of the folk housing my question is what is the name of this extra long socket ? and are they only needed some times thank you in advance , john from Manchester England
Thanks for replying, only asking causd just got my bike, and never really needed to buy tools before until now. And my folks are leaking a small bit. Just ordered a seal mate. I'll see how that fairs
Bro... Today I changed fork oil also by the mechanic. But now front fork suspension is harder than before. Is it ok ? Or after some kilometres it will be ok? What can I do bro?
Hi man, could be different viscosity of oil, or there was a little bit less oil before the change :-) If it's not really bad, I think it's nothing to worry about.
there is no unusual tools needed, only special tool is the long key to loose nut on the bottom inside fork which can be made out of usual stuff as a threaded rod with 2nuts on it (size depends on your type fork), set of alan keys required.
The video does run a little fast. My biggest complaint is that U skipped actually installing the seals. Sure! U hit the seal with the ol' meat hammer a couple whacks but I'm thinking U had to use more than that. Didn't earn a sub from me this time...
ok i see another problem at 6:13, you're pouring in fork oil back into the fork tube, did you just reuse your oil fork oil? and what about the bottom 6mm allen bolt I didn't see you install and torque that bolt into the damper rod
you made a mistake, because I see at 5:15 you are about to install a new oil seal onto the inner fork tube, but you cleaned off both inner and outer bushings, you really should replace the inner and outer bushings also with new because by just changing the oil seal on your fork it is going to leak again and you'll have to change out to new oil seals again, to do this job right change out the inner bushing you see there on the lower part of the inner tube, and the outer bushing that you removed and cleaned off then re-installed on the inner tube, reusing the washer that goes on next is ok then install your new oil seal and after all that is installed and set up on the lower outer tube, then install a new dust seal, and rub some fork oil around on the inside and outside of that new oil seal so it can slide down onto the inner tube easier without doing that with a dry oil seal
Whats fuckin wrong with you pal??.is your video doesent know how to play in normal or in slow motion??.just asking man.tnx that youve read my txt and now your video is in normal and pleasant to the eye..from philippines with love..
Stupid.....stupid. (facepalms) Also, there's this thing called MUTING something. You probably have a dedicated keyboard hotkey ( if you were on a desktop when you watched this days ago), and also if not...worst case...you can LOWER the volume other ways be it turning your speaker knobs, or if on laptop...I'll bet you anything you had a dedicated mute button there. If you were on a phone, you already knew where the volume buttons were.. It's not like this video's host said anything in the video. Go cry a river back to teenie bopper radio station catering land.
I always come to "how to change fork seals" channels when I want to listen to heavy metal.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
No very helpful. Stupid music.
Funny that every time I hear heavy metal I want to change fork seals
This just sucks. They should remove this

Hello John, it's just long threaded bar with pair of nuts tightened against each other - very cheap gadget :-)
ok thank you i will watch the clip again to see what it looks like if i can pause at the right time
You completely missed out the point where you reseat the new seal and fit the circlip. That's my biggest headache.
Should be called how to chango oil fork i didnt see more than that
How did you seat the seals? That's what I'm fighting with.

Thanks for replying, only asking causd just got my bike, and never really needed to buy tools before until now. And my folks are leaking a small bit. Just ordered a seal mate. I'll see how that fairs

there is no unusual tools needed, only special tool is the long key to loose nut on the bottom inside fork which can be made out of usual stuff as a threaded rod with 2nuts on it (size depends on your type fork), set of alan keys required.

What bike fork is this
I have changed fork seal and it is leaking a little again... Why??
Perhaps the piston surface has some scratches or the seal was damaged during the instalation
Mine are leaking pretty bad i was hoping you could chainge them without taking the forks apart😅
jellebel222 hahahaha me too finding a video like that
Take them apart and clean them up or take them to your local motorcycle shop
The video does run a little fast. My biggest complaint is that U skipped actually installing the seals. Sure! U hit the seal with the ol' meat hammer a couple whacks but I'm thinking U had to use more than that. Didn't earn a sub from me this time...

Mine does not have any indication on how much oil it has.
In the manual i mean
Which oil you used for it?
owais khan Any fork oil with recomended viscosity (as manual says) or you can choose the viscosity to be hard or soft as you want
ok i see another problem at 6:13, you're pouring in fork oil back into the fork tube, did you just reuse your oil fork oil? and what about the bottom 6mm allen bolt I didn't see you install and torque that bolt into the damper rod

No explanation, music is annoying ,got 10 seconds before turning off m8 😒
what size nut did you use to remove for the inside of the fork?
Erik Chavez Hi mate, it depend on your type of bike, fork. Do some searching on google for your bike's fork :) (I think, mine was 16mil hexa)
For my 2000 Kawasaki KL250G Super Sherpa I used a bolt head that was 7/8" or about 22 mm.
Dig the guitar on video, who plays it?? Joe Saturani
