The song prom is about her not living up to her promises and expections she made as a teen she moves onto her adult life, and promises other than herself like family, friends and relationships. But in a nutshell it is about growing up so yeah. But the name of Prom has a deep meaning as it refers to the dance for all teens before they become adults, or the name supposed to mean "promise", but she doesnt fully say the rest - like in breaking a promise (idrk honestly, the latter is a popular theory). And I like the themes of self-control, responsibilty, purpose and growing up in the album. I honestly feel like should could have made something out of the conversations in the end, while they did touch on themes in the album like self-control or one's loss over control, they just felt rushed in there tbh(except for the one in Supermodel, that one felt nice). I think Frank Ocean did a better job with it. But other than that this album was good and I loved your honest review on it, Im glad to see a sane person actually reviewing and analyzing the album and not giving a cheap reaction video or dickriding on the album due to favorbility of the artist. I'm not getting a trey songz boyfriend number 2 vibe or even, funny enough, a The Weeknd vibe where this is all only for sexual gratification. Also, the whole "my man, it's her man too" It's not your man if you're not in a relationship, he's just a fuck buddy. Also, just general tone, it seems more like just a somewhat quiet acceptance of the situation rather than actively searching for a good time regardless of whether the person you're fucking is in a relationship or not. None of the aloofness you see with most male artist, and even female artists like Cardi b. Plus, she seems to get some validation from this "relationship"..."oh I'm able to keep his attention or fuck him better on the weekend than the girl he is actually in a relationship with." Almost a subtle form of revenge. Again, in context of the rest of the album, seems like a desperate grab for some type of relationship. Go Gina is such a bop, and I feel like it is fleshed out lyrically. The opening verse is one of my favorites on the entire album. Pretty Little Bird is extremely reminiscent of Jhene Aiko's track Pretty Bird from her album Souled Out. I can't help but think about it every time I listen to it.
The whole point of an interlude is for it to be short. It's not necessarily underwritten. I believe Gina and Wavy were written to be short for a reason. It wasn't until I repeated Gina several times that I realized it was a short song and then I thought, "why didn't she make this longer?", cause it did end kind of abruptly, but I honestly don't think it needed to be longer. Though I like listening to it, it's a song that sometimes I just want to finish it so I can move to the next song I want to listen to. Wavy on the other hand went with the name. When you're on a wave, things don't always continue, you just go with the flow which is reflected in how short the song is in my opinion. Issa vibe, a song to listen to when I want to get into a feel good mood.

It wasn't until I repeated Gina several times that I realized it was a short song and then I thought, "why didn't she make this longer?", cause it did end kind of abruptly, but I honestly don't think it needed to be longer. Though I like listening to it, it's a song that sometimes I just want to finish it so I can move to the next song I want to listen to. Wavy on the other hand went with the name. When you're on a wave, things don't always continue, you just go with the flow which is reflected in how short the song is in my opinion. Issa vibe, a song to listen to when I want to get into a feel good mood.
