Love my 83!
The World needs as much Steve Magnante as possible.
Long Live "Junkyard Gold". The best MotorTrend program they've ever had.
86 was the first year for fuel injection and true dual exhaust. My favorite year of the Fox body.
I see so much of the Mustang’s original intent in the car. Fun cruiser for just tooling around (as we used to say). Appears to be well cared for and preserved. Thanks as always for sharing ~ Chuck
His knows the subject he is presenting very well
Car presets very well, and having Steve M showing it doesn’t hurt! Although a 6 cyl, automatic, this car is priced to be a great value for someone just getting in to the collector car market.
You may want to re-check your math. A round trip from the Ford Rouge plant to Cars and Concepts in Brighton would have been about 100 miles
👍👍
Nice. Is it for sale? I had a 86 LX 5.0 Coup when I lived in Taunton and I thought it was awesome. Would love to find a 5spd convertible version for my Florida retirement years.
Im not a fan of Fords. Not even the Mustang. But I'd take it
No, that's not correct. Dearborn Assembly manufactured these (closing in 2004), not River Rouge. According to the HOC website this is a V6:
No VIN, can't win, but easy to figure out, no doubt: 1FA for US made Ford passenger car, B for manual seat belts, P27 for Mustang LX convertible, 3 for 3.8L V6 with fuel injection, then a random check digit, G for the 1986 model year, F for Dearborn, MI assembly and the rest is the production sequence.
No tag, can't brag, but this should be code 1C Black exterior paint.
Lol.....120 hp and 205lbs torque from the factory V6.
@@ogg-men Yup, nothing to write home about. LOL.
DAP is referred to as part of River Rouge, quoted as the “B” building of River Rouge.
@@charlesdalton985 I know that. However, the correct place of assembly to refer to is "Dearborn, MI" as that is what the factory literature states. The plant that assembled this vehicle is no longer in existence. It closed in 2004.
I wouldn’t give you .05 cents for an 1980’s car!
why, are most cars from that time bad?
The quality was pretty bad, I owned 2 of them
4-lug wheels. Rear drums. No oil cooler. Taxi cab interior. Hard pass.
......junk.
@@ogg-men then and now
I mean, that's how everything was in '86. I don't like Mustangs, but they were no worse than anything else (possible exception for 4-lug wheels).
That’s what a true musclecar originally was, and should be today; lightweight, base interior, no power windows, no AC, no power steering, drums, nothing that is unnecessary. I run 11 second street cars and drive them almost daily, no PS, no PB, 4 wheel drums, 3200pb plate. A man’s car.
BTW, guys were going bottom 10s in these cars with 4-lug wheels over 30 years ago.
What a horrible time for automobiles
Automatic.....lol
