Team iPad Pro 2018 here! This 3rd gen pro is still smooth & solid in 2022. Got my mom the ipad air 4 a few mos back and every time I use it, my OG pro still feels faster and better. If ur planning 2 buy a new air, check for older ipad pro models (2018 or 2020), it’s a better deal.
You will only feel difference if you're used to 120hz, plus M1 is wayy faster, it needs some optimization for air model.

@@shivamkrishn what about longevity? Future updates and all, plus you wont get the ipad pro og now, its mostly refurbished!
And 60hz will only feel slow if you are used to higher refresh rate!
@@SanDeep-wg2cf dear mr SAN DEEP, I didn't touch on longevity, I won't be using it for 8 years right to see all the updates and I'm 100% sure after 3-4 gens of iPad OS won't be giving exclusive software features to this M1- that's their clever strategy.
Regarding pro, Idk where u live but it's available brand new at online apple store as well as Amazon.

I’m on a iPad Pro 10.5 and I can confirm. The only major draw back for me.
I used to be like “YEAH RIGHT PFFF” then I got to test an ipad mini for like a month and I was shocked. Then I switched to an iphone 13 pro and I just cannot look at other 60 herz iPads or iPhones anymore. I still have a macbook air M1, but today I played a bit with the new mac book pros that have 120herz displays and ummm I had to stop before I bought one just for the god damned screen. 👀

I have the iPad Air 4 and even with A14 it feels amazingly fast and has pretty good screen quality and speakers. I have no complaints with it.

Ipad pro 2018 A12X is still a beast in 2022.
The 2018 Pro is killer, I’m still using the 12.9 2018 since it launched and I’m still very happy with the performance.
I also loved my 2018 iPad more when I knew that the M1 Pro thunderbolt 4 port transfer speed is very slow compared to what you should expect from it.

@@TiLovesTech totally agree. Thats why I’m still use the 2018. But I recommend the air 5 based on M1 processor. With M1 The user can get more updates and features support then the old “A”.

Me too - I only got my 2018 iPad Pro on Amazon renewed last Xmas. I had a 2013 iPad Air 1 before that which is still usable for the basic stuff so I’m keeping the Pro indefinitely. I wouldn’t consider the new Air - FaceID Pro Motion and the speakers seal the deal on the Pro. The Air is just too expensive for what it is and needs 128GB minimum storage to justify the starting price.
I’m kinda concerned with software support though. iPad Pros have been shown to get 7 years support before being cut off. Will probably wait until iPadOS 18 releases, burying my current 9.7” pro 2 updates deep, before trying to get an M1 Pro refurbished.

My iPad Air 2 has lasted me 8 years and still going, so I’m sure the iPad Pro a12z will do as fine like my air 2 has and that only had 2 gigs where the 2020 iPad Pro has 6 gigs.

Ok maybe the front camera is bad but i think senter stage is a very nice featuer and nobody use the front facing camera for other things so it is an upgrade i think

It would be relevant if Apple allowed VMs, make use of Rosetta, and let more direct access to the filesystem on iPadOS. Honeslty I got an M1 iPad just for the graphics, object scanning and note taking. I already have Ryzen PC to do heavy work.
The fact is simply that iOs Apps use only marginally the Cpu and Gpu. My M1 12.9” iPad Pro is like driving a Ferrari on a 30 Mph lane.

Do you think we should get Air14 if there is a 100$ price difference between Air14 and Air15 ? Not an artist or a gamer. Need for reading , notes and some content watching ? I know ipad 9th gen will fulfill my requirement but the design looks like a decade old + non laminated display. 60Hz is a major turn off for getting air 5.

@@Perfection100 For school, it really depends on what you do. If you're into mobile games then its great and if you're talking about youtube video editing, it can easily manage, but most people would prefer a regular computer

In school, we regularly do both paperwork and online. It is basically assignments on Teams or making videos and stuff like that.
my air 5 creaks quite noticeably, and I’m really not happy with the front camera quality. Not that I use the front camera to take photos, but still it’s shockingly bad. I have air 4 and thought this would be a nice upgrade but I’m returning it.
Air 4 is better in build quality. Air 5 has creaking sound.
If you are near a Microcenter, you can get a iPad Pro 11 M1 for $40 cheaper than the 256GB Air 5.

So I heard people were complaining about the built quality of Ipad air 5 being worse than ipad air 4. For example, on ipad air 5 they can feel the internal components by pressing the back plate and it also makes a creaking noise. Can anyone who owns an ipad air 5 confirm this?

As a 2018 IPad Pro user i believe the IPad Air 5 is a beast got it yesterday started a side by side IN PERSON NOT IN VIDEO and it is an actual beast all my Stream games look cristal clear the 5G Speed is insane works flawless I’ll give it a 9/10

What's the point though of going from a 2018 Pro to an Air 5? You've got a worse display and worse speakers, no faceid. You've basically gained nothing except a better SoC which you can barely feel.

They did f up on that when you grab the IPad with your hands in landscape you block the damn speakers they should of think about that and put them on top not bottom but oh well it is what it is guess IPad air 6 will have them lmfao but i aint gon buy

Who cares about 120hz kids?! It’s a freaking optical effect, nothing more, face with it! It should have a mini Led display instead of that obsolete LCD with terrible contrast ratio, THAT’S THE REAL POINT.

The M1 is definitely better but you cannot take advantage of the full power of even the A12X in iPadOS anyways… the best value now is still the A12Z iPad Pro refurbished an amazing deal if you can find one in stock. More ram, 6GB than the 2018 and performance is still amazing. The price with the 128gb or 256gb is a much better deal than the M1 Air

I would say as long you have anything better than a A11 Bionic chip your iPad is pretty much okay
While I do love the 2018 Pro more (speakers) Notice how the Air 5 is also on 54% and the Pro is on 83% battery? That big of a difference can really affect the marginal difference here, I feel like making a judgement based off one application sample is weird. And while the iPads are “plugged in” they are not at all charging, the symbol in iPadOS for a charging iPad should be green, and should have the lightning symbol. Other than that, good video

I am concerned about how futureproof ipad air 5 is. Will this last long since they changed it to M1? By last long I mean before you notice a lag.
Rn Ipad Pro 2020 is better than Ipad Air 5. But if you want to keep it for 5 to 7 years even more, Ipad Pro 2020 is going to lag. But M1 Ipad Air won't lag because it has 2 years of more software updates and the M1 which will be very powerful even after 5 years compared to A12Z which will be slower in like 5 years. So like im buying a new Ipad next month and Im going for 256GB Ipad Air M1 instead of 256Gb Ipad Pro 2020 because im planning to keep my Ipad Air for around 5 to 7 years

Got a little bummed seeing 3 devices supporting pencil 2 and similar form factor. But you’re right, still have some edge with the display and speakers. But also faceID and other advantages of TrueDepth like Memoji, Animoji, etc. for now… 😂

Well first of all lets look at the video title" Slower than a 2018 Pro?" well if we did not know the 2020 iPad pro had and a12z chip inside it and the iPad air 4 with a14 and crushed the iPad pro 2020 with it's performance, and what's the video title, SO YOU SCAMMED US. Don't think this is all there's MUCH MORE. Next when you did the front camera test you are claiming that the iPad air 5 front cam is much worse than the iPad air 4, but how is this possible during the event it was told told to us that the front cam megapixel is upgraded from 7mp to 12mp, SO DON'T THINK IM DUMB CAUSE YOU JUST SWITCHED THE IPAD NAMES MEANING THE IPAD AIR 4 IS THE AIR 5 AND THE IPAD AIR 5 IS THE AIR 4, SO YOU SCAMMED US AGAIN. Next when you did the iMovie exporting test, not to mention but the iPad which was named "iPad pro a12z" had actually got thicker bezels and the iPad which was named "iPad air 5" had thinner bezels, but the 2020 iPad pro has thinner bezels right, WHICH MEANS YOU SCAMMED US AGAIN. Last but not the least, during the sound test you mentioned that the 2021 iPad pro was much louder , but in reality its peak was just 2 decibels louder that means YOU SCAMMED US AGAIN. Hey man, can you please talk about the awful build quality of the new 5’s (put pressure on the back and the display literally ripples and actually shows where your finger tips are at the back). So many RUclipsrs are just dismissing this but so many people are experiencing this issue…

Center stage is good for Visually Impaired people because it’s very difficult to point the camera even if we could just move the tablet this is the best feature Apple has made
