The INCREDIBLE ROLLEI 35SE 35mm FILM camera
Film Photography with the Rollei 35SE
Dusted off the wee Rollei wasted a roll of FP4 then made a half decent go of a roll of Rollei RPX 100.
    I'm loving this little camera.

Nice video and pictures. However somehow the scans seem to be partially soft. Seems be an issue of the scan and not the camera because even the film grain is soft in these areas.

cheers mate and yes deffo the scans, I have a poor set up I shoot the negs on a digital camera with a macro lens then invert the image in LR curves, it's far far from Ideal. When I get my life sorted I get a dedicated scanner and neg lab pro. Thanks for watching and commenting mate really appreciate the feed back.

This can be a bit tricky. From the start of the Rollei 35 in later 1960s up to 1980, all models with a Cds meter (and battery) used a 625 mercury cell. Its holder is accessed from the inside of the camera, at the top of the film chamber. You unscrew the cover to exchange a battery. These mercury batteries are no longer available. There are several ways to work around using other batteries, a subject for a different video. The last two versions of the Rollei 35, the SE and TE, use a different battery, which goes in a battery holder, which in turn fits into the top plate of the camera. He is'using an SE here. While the SE and TE specified a mercury battery, the completely different meter design unique to these two models allows the use of almost any modern battery which will fit into the holder. I prefer to use 4 watch cells because they last forever and cost almost nothing to replace when needed.
