That's what I call a one-girl total work of art (Gesamtkunstwerk) and a legitimately confident performance. No doubt about that - this is an undisputable case of grandmastery (at the age of 21): Hitting like a sewing machine, being precise like an atomic clock - with optimal usage of the available biomechanical features (Kanade is a wondermaiden of delicate build), showcasing an amount of musicality as if being blessed by Euterpe in person (a flute player, but it's a fact that she just loves every musical genius); plus an orchestration that might challenge the whole percussion unit of any symphony orchestra between Berlin and Boston. Finally the body aesthetic of a ballerina (who prefers acting to reacting). And as an encore the peak of professionalism: being done and letting the sticks cautiously float down onto the snare drum to avoid any audible artefact of rim and drumhead. (Such level of perfectionism is actually too much for me...) - The extolment is inevitable: Miss Kanade Sato, you are one of the most appealing artistic phenomena the YT has to offer. - Yes, it's true: This is a monstrous compliment for a young musician who is still on her way. But I have no doubt that you, Miss Sato, will never lose the ground under your (virtuoso) feet. Your home culture (for which I have deepest respect) guides you, your home culture protects you. Meanwhile I have relished many of your sessions in the YT and I know from experience that an artist conveys more than only personal talent and skills when performing. So I hope that it is not too insolent to suppose that you have reached your state of artistry not least because of your solid fortitude, your imperturbable way of working hard. No need to change your self-concept of being a thoroughbred musician.
