- I usually keep my job more of a private thing, but here is a bit of an insight into my current corporate job, how I live my life around my job, and the constant search for meaning in surviving here as a single woman living and working here in new york city. Also how working from home while living alone in NYC affects mental health. As always we have some fun together in my vlogs, so I hope you enjoy. Love you 💜

Can we normalize “average” lives? I live in LA and it has made me feel behind for no reason. Like I’m not excelling. But your vlogs are really helping me understand that life doesn’t always need to be expensive trips, grocery hauls, or parties every weekend to be interesting. Thank you Chelsea! 😊
❤️❤️❤️
Agree!!!!!
She s so REAL
This is real life for a majority of us 😆👏🏻👏🏻
I have been having the conversation of being average in my head. I was so glad to hear someone else say it. We aren't alone. Be average. You are fabulous
Agreed!! Nothing feels unique online anymore… we’re all unique tho so we ROCK😎
I’m average and happy
As someone who used to live a boring, mundane and ordinary life in NYC I kinda wish I had vlogged about it, so I'm excited that you are! Now I know I wasn't alone haha.
Ok. I need to know (for research) What changed? In a bit of a rut myself.
@@NY_Mountain_Man The pandemic caused me to move back home so now I live a boring life there.
@@rondonkulus Ahh that's very kind, thank you. 🙏
When I turned 40, I went to University to study English Literature. When I turned 51, I quit my job and started a home business making cookies that I sell to cafe’s. Sometimes I do a market stall to sell said cookies, depending on how the wind blows and how big the electric bill is this quarter. My whole ‘average’ career/life I did art on the side. After work, weekends, holidays. It was my bliss! Until I realised that in order for me live my authentic self, I need to be doing art full time and everything else as the side. It’s important that when I flip on a light switch, it actually gives me light, so money is necessary, but I promise you, it comes. Just don’t overthink things. The thing about life is that it can be lived regardless of whether you’re single, married, de-facto, widowed, or in a throuple. There is no rule book that we all fit under. You do you! You are killing it! And it’s never too late to do things.
I totally relate to your feelings about work. I stayed in food service jobs for a longggg time because I was waiting to figure out what my dream job was. Being unemployed during the pandemic made me realize how much I simply do not care about work or having a career, so I just picked something that felt practical. Now I'm in grad school and just got my first job offer for a non food industry job and I'm so happy to be moving on to something new, even if it's not a dream job.
I loooove your perspective!! Best of luck in your fresh start
working from home is the best, hate commuting
“Deez nuts, don’t unsubscribe” had me howling 😂
Im 23 and everyone my age is out partying . Yesterday I washed my bedsheets, and that literally made me so happy😂😂👏 Also it rained for 8 hours today and rainy weather makes me so happy so i enjoyed the clouds and noise rain makes today. Its the small things on a day to day basis its not always some big goal then ill be happy im starting to embrace small daily/weekly goals ad it helps my motivation alot
Love love this! Especially the clean sheets :)
I'm 31 so technically "supposed" to be enjoying stuff like washing bedsheets anyway - and I am! Can't say I did in my early twenties but I never did any partying, either. There is a lot of calm joy in everyday things and all the better when you do find enjoyment in them 💙
I’m 32 and honey, I have decentralized romantic relationships and prioritize the relationship with myself! There is a fire in me that I neglected during my 20’s. Now I’m letting it rage ❤
I am LOVING this energy. Yes!!!
👏👏👏👏
It's nice to see videos of normal people living normal lives again. The constant dopamine hits off even RUclips get simply too much.
Certainly makes me feel better about living in a quiet mountain home, away from anybody except for my S.O. Positive this says something about me. Either way, thanks for the video.
I've been subscribed a while, but this is first comment I've left on your channel. I really enjoy your "ordinary" videos Chelsea as well as your quirky personality. i am a lot older than you, but can identify with you speaking about not feeling fulfilled by your job but by things outside your job. I had that for most of my working life. It is so important to look for meaning elsewhere, and it seems that you are doing that! You go girl!
Nice to meet you!!
I used to be hesitant to travel because I'm single and don't have a partner to travel with. I did two travel tours alone and they were the top best things that happened in my life. Agree with what you said about not waiting around for things to happen, for a partner to pop up. Life is too short and we just have to enjoy the hell out of it when we can :)
Thank you for your authenticity; some vloggers glamorize what is not real.
chelsea!! I always appreciate your candor! I'm a fellow young adult living in nyc working remotely... and it gets lonely. I'm glad youre showing the nuances of living alone in the big apple, because we know it's not always as great as it's romanticized to be. Happy to see an average, normal life represented because so many influencers do not make that same impression to the world! keep doing you girl
Your vlogs are so therapeutic ❤
I'm early 40s living in the UK raising a 6 year old with my husband but I always had an urge to live in new york when I was in my 20s-30s, watching your videos is so fascinating, thank you for sharing them with us :)
Been in NYC 60 years - it is an expensive dangerous shiteholes. Trust me.
Thanks for watching! ❤️❤️❤️
I love arrugala had in this afternoon
It is never too late. Do it, see if you or your husband can get a transfer for a few years
Yes! "Normal" lives need to be more celebrated and embraced. Normal can be/is enjoyable, fulfilling, and special because we make it that way. I think I live a "normal" life... and like you, I have always struggled to find meaning in my full-time work - except my side gig which is a passion. I always found the "living" to be outside of my work life, still to this day. And good on you! for not waiting for a partner to "live" and experience more things in life - you are such a strong, young woman! I have also had my heart broken, many times, including one divorce, so I've learned that life is meant to be lived - whether with or without a partner - it is up to us to live our life fully regardless of the relationship-circumstance. Thank you so much for your videos... Can't wait for the next one! 😃💓
I’m sick of people expecting you to be at point x by age x. It is ridiculous. Love that you are just getting on with life and enjoying yourself!
I can sooo relate to you regarding wanting to find value and meaning in the work we do. I've been lucky a few times with finding meaning in the work I do but that's definitely not the norm.
Just a 30 year old married mother of 2 from Nebraska watching NYC vlogs as if I’ll ever be able to live this life 🙋🏼♀️
Girl, 40 year old mother of 4 from NC. Lol
Always nice to see a new post from you! I spend most of my time in a bubble working from home, so its nice seeing someone else in their little bubble and connecting even just a little bit! Hope your week is starting out well! 🙂 (and the bite of banana for potassium to prevent cramping gave me such a moment of deja vu for when I used to run!)
genuinely so grateful for your content. we live in a world where every video on youtube has to be aesthetic and romanticized and that's made me feel so leftout and feeling like im not doing enough to make my life more exciting.
I agree. It's cosy and nice to see more everyday content
You really show the reality of living in nyc but actually you make it look kinda fun i think it's your vibe
i luv u and good luck with your life and mental health ❤❤
1. I absolutely love watching people with normal lives that I can relate to. This is what I want to see.
2. You look like a young beautiful Meryl Streep😍
there is something so cozy to me about winding down in your own quiet, and private place with a busy city whirling outside your walls. Idk why, but a calming apartment just hits different in a big city. Like, so much can be going on outside, but you can have your apartment be as quiet as can be, because you have control of it. I guess you appreciate the comfort and solitude much more. I can vouch because I go to school in the city of philadelphia, and I enjoyed living in an apartment this year so much! I'll miss it, I made it so cozy and comfortable, and your apartment reminds me of mine so much!
thanks for this reminder :) so grateful for this little bubble of peace
Heyyy… love ur videos. Scottish guy here living in the Amazon with my Brazilian husband 🦄 as someone who doesn’t speak Portuguese… (yet), your videos bring me a lot of comfort when I’m feeling a little homesick and/or lonely 🥰 sending love from Brasil. 🌈☮️
Let's get you to 100K! I love your editing and music selection. I'm so glad to find this community of people keeping it real. I was beginning to think our species was going extinct.😁 Today is the day I hit my first bell...exciting times!
Love The realness of your channel and your perspective on not waiting around, so true. Love the channel 😊
Love your personality and love being able to relate to you and know im not alone!
Sometimes the “ordinary” lifestyle is far more interesting than the “exciting” and “extravagant” one
Thank you so much for you videos. I am recently undergoing some huge life changes (switching universities and my field of studys) and it is so refreshing watching someone who shows that it is ok to not have everything figures out.
Much love from Germany;)
This was such an uplifting video. Thanks for sharing! 💙🫶🏼
You spoke from my soul when you were talking about finding fulfilment outside of work and your entire situation. Currently in somewhat of a quarter life crisis and trying to go into personal assistance as well. Finally feel like I found someone I can so closely relate to at this stage of my life. Thanks for sharing ! 🙏🏻
Nice to hear just a little about your job in this vid even though I get trying to keep it private.:)
I want you to know that I watched your video and paused halfway through to go on a jog around the block 2 times, so thanks for the motivation!!! Always love your vids so much, particularly because I'm in NYC too! :)
I work on the ocean and I can completely relate to you about work. And I was just in new york I have seriously considered moving there. The energy of that city makes me feel amazing!!!
Yes why wait for a partner to live your best life? Your videos show everyday life which I love! The simple things truly are the most valuable! 🥰🤗💗🌷
I love your channel. Thank you for highlighting the normal stuff. 😍
I really like the "precap" montage at the beginning of your videos.
Chelsea!!! I love your videos soo much. You need to post more .. for my mental health! 😋
Keep up the hard work!
you're so funny and down to earth! love your vids ❤
Your vlogs are so good and refreshing 😊 also a 27years old living in alone in Ghana abs pretty much working from home through your perspective seems a lot fun, unfortunately not mine as a health worker it can never be possible but I find joy in them as I document my days everyday 😊
Hello from New Zealand, love your videos, thanks for making them. I worked for 2 US banks for 13 years and regular trips to NYC and I often wondered what life was like living in NYC
Chelsea, just stumbled upon your channel a few days ago but wanted to say that I really appreciate how you share your life and how you’re vulnerable with mental health! I can relate to a lot of what you share - I’m also a 30-something year old woman living alone and lifeing it out and my birthday is 9/20! Excited to see what’s in store for you
Nice to watch you vlog again (I've missed you and your videos) and that you are well.
these are the *exact* types of vids i've been looking for!! thank you!!
I love your sense of humor. And cheers to arugula! I love it!!! ✌️
I found your channel by chance and I'm loving it. your videos are great and authentic. good luck.
you are literally my new comfort youtuber! been watching your videos for a while & i just love your energy, i definitely take inspiration from you
Hey!!! I love your videos so much! I’m from Brazil and I am moving to New York City later this year, can’t wait! Your videos have helped me a lot hahah
I love your videos so much Chelsea you are so relatable...i always get so excited whenever you post..watching all the way from South Africa❤
Thank you for sharing your work from home days. I also live alone and agree that working from home isn't the best for me. My office goes in one day a week, and I will happily go in more if they require it. I also agree with your comment about work - it's not my passion, but I am good at it. Thank you again, have a great week!
Yay! Another Chelsea video :D I see that you enjoy dried mango from Trader Joe's because I see it in your videos every single time! I also love eating it, and recently I discovered a recipe where you put dried mango with plain yogurt in a jar and leave it overnight (I usually cut the mango into pieces). It tastes amazing! Have a great week! :)
you're so relatableee! love your videos Xx
First ❤. Also I’m really liking the new apartment layout. Love the feeling of switching things up every now and then.
I just started watching your vlogs today and I've already subscribed ❤️ love your content
I am enjoying your videos so so much, thank you for your content! I really appreciate you taking the time to do your videos for us, greetings from Germany
Love watching these “average” live videos! No fake filter, just so nice to be able to watch a “normal” day in the life of someone living in nyc. Personally living in the uk it has always fascinated me watching how people live their lives in the big ol us of a and it’s making me wish one day to “visit” and never leave 😂.
It’s been an absolute pleasure, and cannot wait to see and hear more about you and the daily life of chaotic nyc!
All the best to you and all of your community!
Yayyy! New video. Honestly the best thing to start my day! ❤
🥹💕
was just binging your vids. perfect timing!!
❤️❤️❤️
we work to live, not live to work. its a means to an end to get us to where we need to be whether its travel, or food, or just meeting new people
I always get excited when I see you’ve posted a new video. I love catching up with you, feels genuine and true. Thanks for being my comfort watch channel ❤
I always love seeing your comments, friend! 🫶🏻
Always excited to see your new videos on my home page!
I just so enjoyed watching this video. Your so fresh and real. Thank you for sharing your day. Hope to see more :)
new subscriber here! And love your ordinary and relaxing NYC vlog! ❤
Love this update Chelsea ❤. You’re doing exactly what you need to be doing in life. Your early thirties is the time you think about what you really want in life and your young and capable enough to invest in yourself with a lot of enthusiasm. My wish for you is that you develop and implement a financial plan for yourself now. This is an important part of your life to get settled. I have so many fiends who waited for Mr Right and he failed to show….they are now without financial support and facing retirement with very little choice. You’re always so honest and self deprecating ❤
I've never found meaning or purpose from a job either. It has always just been an income to do other things. It's nice meeting people and working together on projects, but I always wondered "why do we do these things?" and feeling like a cog in the system.
My bigger issue is that I struggle to find purpose/meaning outside of work too. I am in a bit of a down period right now though so everything feels hard and pointless and I'm trying to pull myself out of it with differing levels of success day to day.
I also walk fast wherever I'm going, even if that is nowhere.
Living a simple life and learning to do things that bring me joy is something I've taken away from your channel. Plus it''s fun to watch your vlogs as I am folding laundry or cooking dinner because it feels like I've got a buddy lol
I have been on a watching spree sit for the past five hours. You are sssssooooo amazing
Your vlogs are so peacefull ^_^ Im kinda new here but YOU GO GIRLLL🔥🔥
I'm not first, but I love your vlogs so so much!
Found you yesterday and binging ever since. You have a je ne sais qua about you. I dont care for NY at all, but YOU keep me hooked 😂
This was the most enjoyable thing I’ve watched in a while! Good work! ❤️ That thing you said about walking too fast? I say that all the time. Lol
Glad ur posting more so true about broken heart makes you feel alive
I loved the first 23 years in NYC. If it makes you feel better, your kitchen is 10 times better than most rentals in Toronto! LOL. Hardly anyone updates their kitchens.
I sure don’t miss standing in line at a grocery store and feeling like a champ by making it home on time. It wasn’t for me but I am happy you enjoy what you have for sure.
You brighten my heart ❤
I'm glad you got some time to decompress while working from home! I've been working from home since the beginning of the Pandemic and at first I hated it since I lived with toxic family, but now that my fiance and I have our own place, I LOVE it :) Also hated having to take NJ transit everyday, my commute was 3 trains and 1.5 hours ish each way before I started WFH
Also LOL to the city walk! I also would walk super fast and "with purpose" whenever I lived in DC, it took me working from home and walking our dog to finally start walking slowly again lol
I'm so glad that WFH is a better situation for you now! Congrats on getting your own place too :) I can't imagine a 3 hours commute each day... hell no lol
Just wanted to give a quick congrats and shout out on hitting 40k subscribers! So happy to see this channel and you flourishing. Always sending you the highest and healthiest vibes 💜
Thank you!! 💘💘💘
I completely relate to your feelings about work. I happy & blessed to have a job but at the end of the day it’s not fulfilling. I just turned 32 & I totally get your statement about not waiting for a partner to really live your life. I guess that’s where my mind has been & I couldn’t put it into words. Thanks for reading my mind Chelsea lol
You have such a cozy life. I love it! I’m the same when I go for a walk - I can’t slow down. 😂
The "slow down, it's okay" because you were walking fast made me feel so seen hahaha. I feel like i'm always going at 100 mph, even if i have nowhere to be. I need to slow down and enjoy life, even if its just walking in the rain for some fresh air :)
You’re killin it, don’t let anybody tell you different.
Great vlog! At 6:23 it was so trippy because I’m sitting on my sofa in the exact same position, also on my lunch break WFH, then you got your phone out to watch stuff too and it was like looking in a mirror 😂 safe to say I feel represented haha
Your channel is taking off and I am SO happy for ya! Keep pushing!!!! Love ya ❤
Thank you!! Love ya!!
@@ChelseaCallahan ❣
Rain in NYC must be amazing! I visited 3 times and always had super sunny amazing weather... hopefully next time I get a rainy day 🤗
Complete get the working from home thing, I also live by myself and work from home a couple of days a week. This is enough for me as I need interaction with humans.. lots of love from across the pond x
I enoy unwinding with your videos!🌺🌻
Wohoo you took us outside! Im here for the ultraboost lights. This vlog slapped hit all aspects of life. I got my run montage! Curious what your aesthetic is/ how to dress in nyc you always touch on it though you took us pant shopping always do a get ready with me vibe but yea if you get bored or have to do a reup on clothes could be cool. Also Celsius sponsor this woman did you see that lighting rain in the background & a celsius in hand send this woman a pallet of celsius!!
You’re awesome hahaha
Great realistic video! Thanks 😊
Great video. Oh I know how you feel about life. That struggle is real
The crappy part is I live in Prince Edward Island, Canada.. It's a Island with great beaches but besides that not much to do here. Winter is worse. Lol. I think I live life waiting for something to happen that won't. But it is hard to get out of that mind set. People say get over it, but not that easy
You got the best content on your video like working from home
There was a great article in Slate about Trader Joe's and how all of the staff love it there because everyone hooks up. Probably why the vibe is always so pleasant and relaxed.
Thank you for this I am 33 and I have been in two long term relationships for all my twenties and last year I ended my last relationship and I feel like I just started living 🎊
18 year old planning to move to nyc in a few years! I love your videos :))
Chelsea Callahan, we NEED your ASMR channel! 😅 I dunno why your soft-voice and whispers are so relaxing 🤷🏻♂️
Ahahah I'll never say never!!
I used to work in a warehouse, but that was during the pandemic. The start up company I worked for ran out of money so they laid all of us off. Later on I found the job I currently work for, fully remote which is great, I love it! Tho the hours can be long. I usually find a new park to go to somewhere in the city, or I always head to LIC waterfront after work to destress a little 😅
Love your videos, and we couldn’t be any more different. But, you always make me smile, thanks.
I love that we still connect :)
Im so glad i found your channel. 🥰
Learned something today: the english word for this special kind of spicy salad plant! They use to grow in my garden like weed, I do nothing for or against it! They are delicious.
Keep up the good work, Lady 😉
Sounds like we have similar skillsets! My background is in video editing and now I'm a production manager / post-producer. Not everyone has that multi-tasking, coordination, process orientation brain! A big pro of this type of role is that it can be done remote.
OK, I just saw this new post; I will pretend I didn't see it so I can watch at work Tues. I must be strong !!!!
Hey love your videos ❤
