I'm a pro DJ for 26 years (DJs don't quit, they work on side projects) and even though nothing you said on this video is alien to me, I too have learned a thing or two (like how to improve my since-always terrible baby scratch). Carlo the work you put into these videos even down to little things like finding that track what had the 1-2-3-4 and storing as a hot cue just to show us the audience what you mean by 4 beats before is unbelievable pal , you must put some mega time into these tutorials before you let us see them, A Truly dedicated guy to music and teaching, brilliant stuff keep it up 👍

Stratos Bordeaux they’re literally only $100 more than the current cdj 2000 nexus 2s and you get a heck of a lot more features, watch digital dj tips’ video on them, I’m sure it’ll change your mind :)
@@oisin7644 Still a waste of money compared to Denon. 100 more? They should be 500 less. Technology gets cheaper quickly and they don't have the optical drive which was the single most expensive physical part due to the buffer and isolation system. And they are using 2010 surplus components which even sub-100$ phones moved past 5 years ago such as resistive displays instead of capacitive (no multitouch, no gestures, no accuracy), no scratch resistant glass or SDHC card readers which are hilariously outdated, can only read up to 32Gb SD cards and only FAT32 format. All of this for saving basically nothing. Upgrading to SDXC would cost probably 15 cents per player. They are treating customers like idiots.

Commenting on a very old video sorry! I had a question. Really considering purchasing your beginner DJ courses! Do you answer questions from your students/buyers if they have any questions; like if they're struggling with their equipment or trying to master the skill? Sorry to ask. Knowing someone is really trying to teach vs. Just sell their courses is a huge difference. Most creator's aren't in the teaching business.
I already got these tricks down but it was nice seeing someone else do it on the same controller i have. I already got a routine that i like to do when transitioning a and b.
I try to include the songs in the other videos for the most part. For this one, well, it's been a while so I don't remember all the tracks I used. Shazam or Soundhound is your friend for this video haha
A couple of things. I understand why you used cue point A in the video, but when I'm setting visual cue points, I don't use A, B, C or D (1, 2, 3, 4). I used the next 4 (E, F, G & H). I also have a specific color code for visual cue points in Serato. I set all of those to light green so I know in advance what that cue point is for. I was also going to mention the "Clean echo out" FX as an alternative to straight echo, but you pretty much covered it in the last transition...
Check out my main How To DJ for Beginners video first Francis! Might be good to start there. I also do offer a more comprehensive DJ course on my sellfy page! Check it out! :)

any transition ideas for deep house progressive ect ... edm dub and the like have so many ways out of the song yet i have trouble doing anything besides the usually 2 min beat match transition . and drop switch for at breakdowns . other then that haven't even seen any other options from big names ether
Imo, beat matching is way more impressive. Nothing compares to hearing two tracks that you love, lined up and mixing. Not to mention, during those two or more mins, you can always flip the fader to one track or the other for little snippets that sound dope singled out. Decent blends are difficult for many without them using the sync button, which is why I feel many DJs resort to strictly drop mixing entire sets. I know you didn't ask my opinion, but I'll always feel a bad @$$ blend is better than a drop mix, which isn't really a mix anyway, any day. Stay up
Why not just lines songs up and have both playing 8 bars before the drop and chop them on the last bar before the drop? Trying to time pushing the cue button sounds risky for beginners.
