I agree. Generation 5 has my favourite visuals of the series. The 3d games are flat and boring with main characters that look like they have no soul. I've heard that they literally made hd models and scaled them down for each system. So if it's true even the new games on switch use the same models made for other games just not as crunched down
The Ichinose stuttering, the GSC chromatic phrases, the wild driving percussion...it's Unova style, but I dare say it's something even better: the Fang style!! :D
I feel the Gen VII E4 theme is drastically underappreciated. Because the whole games music, aside from themes of villians, has an island/vacation feel but the dissonance and screech of notes give a sense of "O Shit, these guys that were playin with me, theyre serious now." I feel its more to convey a turn in story and feeling from a kid having fun on vacation to the definition of true competiton in the Pokemon world.
Also felt in the godly intensity of Ultra Necrozma's theme or the dark twisted horror of Mother Beast's theme, both great climactic songs for very different reasons. Edit: I missed the "aside from villains" line. My point still stands though.
I hope you do more like this, you really went the extra mile with that custom midi. Good job! We need more of this in a world where people mostly throw random samples onto a pre-existing midi for quick views. Thing about that is, you can't be accurate to a previous generation if you don't replicate the musical quirks of that generation in the notes and stuff. Not that those people really care, haha.

To be honest I find this version LEAGUES better than the original. It hits a lot harder with the more intense electric guitar, and I find Gen 5 already made really good use of percussion so this makes it a lot cleaner as well.

I absolutely HATED this Elite 4 I couldn’t pass it not even with my Ash Greninja they always ONE showed my Pokémon I stocked up on like EVERY healing item and ended up with like 3 potions and 1 revive after the Elite 4 heck not even legendaries FREAKING LEGENDS couldn’t tank their hits it literally took a hacked shiny rayquaza with the electric z move as a regular move to beat them with most of my team still intact and even then it got one shotted I feel bad for hacking but I literally ran out of ideas also btw most of the moves I got one shotted with were not very affective

Also some later parts are pretty muddy. :x I mean, the same instruments were used and all but I don't think they were used correctly during some spots. Like how the baseline just randomly switches instruments when it shouldn't at the end. That's just what I think, though.
it works better for this soundfont. trying to exact replicate the music would ruin the feel since It should have a little difference to make this feel unique and work with the soundfont properly
