It's simultaneously kind of wild, and also totally unsurprising, that Mclusky would be one of the (very) few bands who actually sound **better** live as a reunited act.
My nan is dead now, but she took me to see Mclusky in Porth in about 2002 (I think). Unbeknownst to me, she sweet talked the promoter and wangled her way in to watch the last few songs, describing it as "fucking slamming butt, fair do's".
Just saw them live in Portland, and this video doesn’t even do the tone justice. Damien plays an upside down bass as well, which is always a treat to watch someone be good at. I can barely handle it the right side up. Damien seemed to be using an orange terror, but at European gigs he uses a AD series orange amp. Killer fucking band anyway. I hope they play here again
@@IAmTheBestMang In this economy?! Seriously though it's far away and expensive, plus I dropped my specs in the "mosh pit" at the Fleece so I think the universe is telling me no more gigs for a while.
You glorious bastards!!! This recording gets played religiously every week. Saw ya at the Electric Ballroom last year, best gig i've ever been to. Many thanks
Andy slagged me off for wearing a King Adora T shirt once when i saw Mcklusky in Newcastle. I was indeed wearing a King Adora T shirt. It only cost a fiver. He was right to call it out in any case.

LOVED your Ruts reference. I will have to revisit my Mclusky CDs with your ideas in mind. Decades apart, you might be on to something these two stellar acts gifted us with. RIP Malcolm and Paul

One of the greatest bands in the history of the universe!

I'm not prone to hyperbole, but Alan is a Cowboy Killer is probably the greatest song ever written.
It's a Sister Sledge cover?
Well-recorded, well shot live Mclusky, it's a dream.
This may be the best live performance on RUclips. Thank you!!!!
Agreed, except for this! ruclips.net/video/8wDQKQ3c9zw/видео.html
One of those 425 upvotes was from a member of muse.
Great set.
That bass tone is just solid, thumping.
Check "That Man Will Not Hang" from live at Clwb Ifor Bach. That bass is just epic :)
Anyone know the secret to that bass tone? It sounds like an even more unhinged version of what Dave Riley was doing in Big Black.
@@cftvdata just shitload of distortion and high end

Andy F. does NOT like Country Gravy! This is great footage. Good post. A real good watch with medical marijuana.

This is excellent and with no crowd either, great job!

The Great Mclusky
chapple still missing :((
The saviours of early 2000s music... when everyone else still thought Nu-Metal and Oasis/Spice Girls was a good idea.
Saviours ???
I know no1 who knows this band. Never saw them in alternative mags in the early 00s
@@jameswallis4220 well aren't you just an angry kitten...

Any excuse for Damo to get out of baby duties.
Well looks like Mark Foley was right.
