This is my first time hearing this joint.
This came out 95/96, the beats rhyme and life era. The first song was dope, but you really can't pick a favorite because it's all dope. Mobb deep rhyming with ATCQ? Whoa!!!
Q Tip produced a few songs such as Give Up The Goods for Mobb Deep back in 95 so it seems reasonable they collabed

Tip's house had burned down , along with some of the recordings for The Love Movement album (which explains why the album had a lot of fillers)

Dilla was class, but let's remember Tribe was not as good with J Dee. The best 3 tribe albums were there 1st 3 and not Beats Rhymes and the Love Movement with him.
Barry Murphy maybe not Beats, Rhymes, Life but they did their thing on The Love Movement.

I went to a small college in northern Maine in the 1990s. It was the boondocks, only 10% Black & Latino students. One weekend, De La Soul came to perform, but they were very snobbish towards us. They cracked jokes about "being in the middle of nowhere" even though people came from all over to see them. They performed a few weak sets, and left. I didn't like De La Soul for years after that. The very NEXT week, A Tribe Called Quest came to a nearby college to perform (this school was even deeper in the woods, yo!) we went to see them, and HOOO! They ROCKED THE HOUSE!!! It was the best performance I had ever been too. Tribe made everybody feel good, no snide remarks, just rocking the music and showing fans love. I turned to my friend and said "...this is what makes Tribe special. THIS is the difference between them and groups like De La!" I have always loved ATCQ for that night. Thats my Tribe story.

Radi Choudhury. Ha ha, well I forgive them. I encourage you to see BOTH if possible. When I retell this story, people tell me that musicians aren't perfect, and that must have been a really bad time for them. People have told me WORSE concert stories, actually! So all is forgiven! Ha ha.
