In democracy, you rule as you elect your representatives. What a joke. My representatives are elected by simple minded individuals who simply don’t understand what is democracy. And some of the representatives hadn’t spoken anything in parliament all their lives. What a great democracy we have.
Not the fundamental rights. See the Indian Supreme Court case Kesavanandha Bharathi-which Malaysia has follow. That case ruled that the ‘basic structure’ of a constitution (on fundamental rights for example) cannot be taken away even if one political party had 2/3 majority in parliament. And thank you for bringing this up!
The concept of basic structure was a concept imported from Indian Court and being accepted by our judiciary. Thanks to the late Mr Gopal Sri Ram. However not all our top judges accepted this concept. Some are very vocal with this concept especially our ex CJ and a few.
