Halo Harness - A Better & Safer To Walk Your Dog?

- In this initial impressions & insights video we take a closer look at a new innovative dog harness. The Halo Harness. Compared to traditional flat collars it offers the benefits of no neck strain/pressure to the trachea and esophagus, reduction in tangling or handling range of motion. Due to its half ring design it allows the ring attached which connects to your leash to easily move from side to side; you can easily direct your dog and adjust to different environments or walking positions.
With training and consistency, it is a great option to help reduce pulling and reinforce side by side walking position.
The harness itself is well constructed and has breathable padding. It allows for a good range of adjustment to fit medium to large dogs. It is abrasion resistant polyester.
We will be taking a in depth look and provide a comprehensive review once we have spent more day in and day out use. In the interim this may be a good option for some dogs and is a definite improvement compared to walking your dog with a traditional flat collar.

I just received my Halo Harness for my Airedale terrier and fitted it on him. Took him for a short walk and I think I like it. I haven’t had much luck with the front hook harnesses basically because I couldn’t find one that would really fit him correctly so that’s why I purchased the Halo Harness. I look forward to your updated thoughts after using it more. Thanks 😊
Update coming this week or next, overall I still like but but I have some specific areas where I prefer a traditional harness. Specifically for my reactive dog. How was the fit for you? I wish the back had an optional securing option to strap it a bit more. It may not be needed for all dogs and it would make the removal and placement more time consuming but for me I would prefer. Would appreciate any feedback on overall fit. Thanks for posting your update!

Could you review different types of dog food similar to fresh pet? Smaller Dogs without teeth have a hard time finding something they can eat, freshpet has been a blessing but wondering what else is out there along the lines of these none dry
one wet items.
Thanks for the feedback. This is something I can look into. To my knowledge, there are not many options similar to fresh pet as it is cooked/refrigerated. The most common alternates would be the cooked dog foods I have covered. Dehydrated food may be a good choice though as it is soft in texture and easy to prep. Beyond this there a number of stew options from Just Food For Dogs, Stella & Chewys, Open Farm, Wet Noses and Caru. A direct option that is like Freshpet is Tylee's last but not least Tiki Pet's ( one of which I covered ) looks to have number of options for smaller breeds that would favor dogs with no teeth. One item you may want to consider is goat and cow's milk. Goat's milk is a complete food and for extreme scenarios, it can be used a primary feeding food. So dogs do not like that much liquid so you need to balance it out with something else but it is an easy way to supplement the nutrition. For me, my go-to recommendation would be Answers Goat Milk allows with the fish stock. Primal Goat Milk is also a great choice and Only Natural Pet which you can get at Pet Smart is another good choice.

Not a fan of this harness.
You have very little control to 0 control of your dog.
The Halo harness is NOT ideal for correcting your dog at all.
You have more control with the harness you first show in the video.
I have 51lb bulldog I adjusted it to his body and it looks awkward.
It is constructed well but not suited for correction on walks.
Personally not with the $40+ price tag.

Thanks for your commentary, I would agree that if correction is critical/important for you as your dog may still be in training than a neck based collar or traditional harness is better suited, there are also some dogs due to the shape and or sensitivity to their underarms may not be well suited to the halo harness.
