Unfortunately the true time travel cut off point is 2020 or 2021, unless you are 1000% sure that you aren't in some shape or form a carrier of Covid-19. Traveling back in time after a pandemic is like being the pilgrims that spread small pox to the native people of that time period. I'm sorry to have ruined every time travel story that goes back 100 years or so, but I think about this a lot.

You can't even safely travel that far back, because you might introduce mutated variants earlier than they originally appeared.
Also, you might pick up a disease that's been wiped out and reintroduce it to the present.

Yeah. You jump forward in time and you catch some horrible future disease there’s no treatment for yet, and probably die. But you jump BACKWARDS you become a mass extinction event.
