About 45 years ago my vet at the time showed me how to do this with one of my cats. They were house cats but occasionally squabled, which sometimes resulted in an abcess. It is imperative that the wound is kept open and flushed twice a day because it needs to heal from the inside out and if it seals up again before it is fully healed inside, it will abcess again. Since then I've always treated them myself and surely have saved a couple thousand dollars in that time. I've treated some horrendously large abscesses and it is amazing how quickly they heal. Thank you for sharing this. There are many things we can do for our pets. I'm a senior now on small fixed income so not running to my vet for things I am able to do at home helps and saves my money for vet emergencies I am unable to treat.

I took my cat to vet today they wanted 3,000 to 4,000 to treat it daily. What can I put on open wound daily? They said it needs to be open but to me it’s big. I paid for antibiotic shot and ointment but who can afford 177 a day to take him every day for them to do what that I can’t do at home my kids are crying like crazy
because they don’t want to loose him. He’s always been a indoor cat and figures the time he’s out this happens ugh!

This is a real Doctor! Interested in helping his fury patients. I have watched countless videos trying to help my Baby Stormy and the others don't explain anything or over explain or cut the video off. Leaving you more confused on how to help. I'm so grateful to you and your videos we were facing financial hardship and were debating putting her to sleep because she was obviously in pain yet we didn't have the money to take her to the very expensive local vets. She's 10 years and were also concerned about putting her under for surgery

Wish I saw your channel before today.
Took my Husky into vet on Monday after waiting a few days to get an appointment even though we are registered.
The lump she had for those few days was 3cm.
I thought the vet was going to lance and drain it but no. Put a thin needle in it then pushed it out and in three times then was squeezing the whole lump. Only a drop of blood came out of it.
Prescribed antibiotics and inflammaties for it.
Within 24 hours of returning home the lump became very red and hot now it is 9cm, she is in so much discomfort.
Called vet and was told to carry on with the course, dismissing the fact by poking it has made so much worse. Do not understand why the vet didn't lance it properly just like you have shown here.
Hopefully I will be able to find an holistic vet near me here in the UK.
    Thankyou for sharing your knowledge.

    100 percent worked for Mr.
So my sister got a new puppy
One night came crying, and her dog got attacked by a big dog. She was losing so much blood. I cleaned the wound and bandaged it and sent her on her way. Well the next morning came back she was still bleeding so I kept her for I can some how stop the bleeding and I did thankfully .Had her drinking pedialyte all morning .
She went to 3 vet they all denied her. Is what she told me so I said I'll keep her then I can atleast try .The poor puppy couldn't even raise up her head . I Was so nervous she would pass any moment but I had to keep trying . Well she was getting stronger her wound turned into an abcess and I followed they exact steps ! It did take 5 days for the abcess to be cleared and inflamed every single time I drained/cleaned it but it been two weeks since it healed up nicely and till this day i still give her olive tree extract 💊. Thankyou so much!

Thanks for this great video, and thank you so much for choosing this path instead of the twisted profit-before-patient pharma model. My vet doesn't have an opening until the end of August, and what I thought was a 'lump' became an open sore over night. Without you, this would have been a nightmare. Now, it is managable. I think more resourcefulness and self-sufficiency is going to be required of us all for the forseeable...

I once had success draining an infected puss filled wound on my cat with epsom salt soaks. Fortunately my cats wounds were on his feet so I stood him in a few inches of warm water with epsom salt at my kitchen sink. Within a minute I could see a string of puss draining from his wound. I kept him in the soak for five minutes. The wounds continued to drain even after the soak. I did this twice a day for just a few days. I could tell he felt better after the first soak. If the injury was on his main body I think I'd still try the epsom salt even if just a washcloth is pressed against the wound. This is what I'd be most comfortable with and that I could handle on my own.

I went to a doctor to open up a deep heel wound that was poisoning me. My veins were turning purple and black and blue or whatever colors and my leg was swelling to the point I had to cut off my jeans.
The doctor drained me and sent me home.
    It came back..
But the doctor visit was so painful and horrendous.. one of the worst experiences of my life (and I had two children naturally)
So I took a razor blade and opened up my own wound and cleaned it out myself.
I took my dog to get his abscess drained and he gave me two medications instead..
My dog is going through he11 and back with these things. I have a Great Dane. Nothing is worse than an overreacting 150 pound dog scared of the world because of the drugs he's given.
It's just a small abscess on his toe! Why couldn't the vet just do it?!

omgoodness, thanks so much. I had been putting castor oil on what I thought was a wart above my sheltie's tail. It wasn't a wart, it was something else. It popped I guess during the night and now I had blood ooze in the coat. So following your video, I cut back the blood matted fur to get a better view, carefully tried cleaning it with peroxide-which she wasn't having. Switched to contact saline solution, which she tolerated then found the opening, put some teething gel on it as it was so sensitive-that eased her wincing and whining, gave it a small squeeze and out popped the nasty, ugh. creamy icky with what I think was a plug. Got tweezers to pull out some skin pieces that poked through-maybe a sac? Flushed the thing, got it dried and cleaned looking, filled the hole with manuka honey, topped with gauze pad and medical tape. I felt confident pausing the video as I completed the process/steps. I think she is gonna heal just fine. Appreciate this SO much.

Please read. My dog has an abscess in her face. The vet originally thought it was a tooth abscess but later identified cancer in her mouth, and now believes that the cancer is causing the infection, and the only way to treat her is chemo, or euthanasia. They said because the infection is in her face that they couldn't remove the infection, even though it had been lanced once by another vet. The infection is the only thing causing her discomfort. The infection secretes very little from the original lancing ~2 months ago, and the abscess is growing. Can I try this? I have no other options..

I was bitten by my 2 yo Aussie while he was having a seizure. He was on my bed and I put my leg on the edge to prevent him from falling. So the puncture bite is on the back of my calf. Not very easy to see well. 🤓

So I thought my dog had a tumor I’m not sure if he has an abscess or not, he had a lump that was squishy and yesterday it popped and it was bloody. I can’t afford the vet and I have no idea what to do, will this work on him?

Hi! I went through you Chanel and you already helped me so much! I have a lot of problems with my Shi-tzu Lucy. She has as dust and dust mites allergy and it’s bad. She’s now 8 years old and we still can’t find the perfect solution. Nothing seems to really help besides bathing her often with special shampoo and taking apoquel everyday and flax oil. She still scratches herself so much until she gets bad hot spots. And gets yeast infections so often. We went to so many vets and spend so much money and there’s still nothing that helps her 100%. Do you have any tips? I would really appreciate it. Thank you! 🙏

I love your videos. It's so helpful to have more education on animal health.
If a cyst is round, movable (as described by vet) and filled with completely clear fluid (it has drained on its own and completely deflated, only to fill up again a day later). Does this indicate that it is lower risk? My cat is 12,i would like to avoid surgery if possible.

Hi I found an abandoned persian cat in my backyard. Among other problems, its tongue is the most worrying. It sticks out and almost always touches her palate when i look in to it, there's like a clear swelling underneath its tongue. This makes eating a bit of a challenge for her and she also drools so much creating a foul smell. I'm still a 2nd year vet student (in a 3rd world country) trying to save money to take her to the vet but in the meantime is there a home remedy to treat this swelling ?

If the mass has mostly come out ( after doing several Epsom salt compress/bath - treating the surface with antiseptic- it had burst out through the wound sight - without making an incision- ) 2 hrs after the last compress, I noticed the yellow liquid all over my cats fur. I cleaned it again. Soaked the sight well, put on medicine.
My cat peanut recently had surgery, so I still have some cat liquid morphine znd I gave him some. He's purring at my feet...I do have multiple types of antibiotics due to having my own abscess and crones disease,, is there a type of antibiotic I might have I can give my cat? And how much...thank you for any help you can give 🙂
