This song brought tears to my eyes as I look around and see so much hate over skin tone - realizing Jesus died for each of our sins, irrespective of ethnicity, gender, age or other differences immature people fight about.
"Then Peter replied, 'I see very clearly that God shows no favoritism. But in every nation, anyone who fears (respects) Him and does what is right is acceptable to Him.'" Acts 10:34-35

They were trying to get to heaven by their own power. They also missed the point! The only way we can get to heaven is through Christ, not through our own power. I will always love and respect Tobey (and Kevin but Tobey was more vocal about it) for his fight against racism. They were my favorite boy band as a kid--they were so cool to me and my brothers loved them too. we had the posters, books, all their cds and concert videotapes. Embracing all races is my creed. Though saved in 1981, working there with 90s Pxtian music on the PA and books on the shelves got me up to speed on my new Christian life including DC Talk. Great times and worth it all at minimum wage in a mall. Name change to Family Christian Stores, later both mall I’d worked in and Family Bookstores no longer existed: but the knowledge 🎶🎶”our rock is greater than their rock” lives on in me. (Though Terry Livgren & Kansas made it big & I loved them, & was part of “their rock,” surprise! He got SAVED!) (Search “Testimony of Terry Livgren”)

As I read and study His Word, He came as the one spotless, sinless soul sacrifice FOR ALL WHO BELIEVE IN HIM, even us petty Gentiles, as He says that if ANYONE BELIEVETH UPON HIM, they ARE SAVED. ANYONE. Yes, the Jews are God, THE FATHER'S, chosen people, but they turned their backs on Him. God is a Father of UNCONDITIONAL LOVE, and if you believe upon Him, IT DOES NOT MATTER what "religion" you are, as that is man made, then you are a part of His Bride that He is returning for. BELIEVE UPON HIM and you will be saved from eternal damnation! Thanks for all of your comments. Remember: the ONLY sin that can NOT BE FORGIVEN, is denying Him all the way to your earthly death.

I really never thought much of racism, I grew up in Idaho. But, I listened to and really liked DC Talk and Petra from like 1st grade. Fortunately though, I did meet an awesome brother in Christ many years ago, in my 20's at the same mental health outpatient clinic. We found out our circumstances were more similar to each other than my identical twin's are with mine. It was an awesome relationship that I know i will cherish forever. We both have the same diagnosis. We found so much comfort in our friendship. He is black and I am white. But, yes, it worked out very well.

+David Tingwald The Bible actually says that there is only one race: the human race. There are different ethnicities, skin colors, and cultures, but only one race.
Acts 17:6: all men and women come from one ancestor, Adam. That is the solution to racism: to recognize that we are all the same race to begin with.

+Marc A. I would disagree, based on the word blood as used in the Greek text. We are of one blood, seperate races, yet of one blood.
After JCs birth, (death more particularly, opening the way up for all 'whosever would understand'. Hence no longer was Marys family bloodline (back to Adam and Eve), on both her moms lineage (Aaron, priesthood), her dads (David, kingship), brought back together at his birth, the only reason a particular bloodline was ever needed to be kept pure, for that one reason, alone. Do not add one period (jot) into a sentence when interpreting the ideas behind the words in that book.
His death then opened the way unto all, with no religious tradition of man, of any kind, neccessary to be enlightened to JCs 'way' henceforth, period.
If you exclude for reasons not according to JC ie skin color, races, you will have in deed done so unto your own self, now and on atonement day and in that sense, directly unto JC, even if/when following all JCs precepts in all other ways.
      Suffer the (all) children...!
The ignoring of which, has penalties.
From what I've read anyway. js.

Allow me to point out for any newcomers to this song and video, that while this song does promote unity and caring for everyone equally (which some would compare to All Lives Matter), they also acknowledge the wrong done to some races and they warn that if folks don't change and repent and do better, "vengeance is the Lord's"...in simpler terms you will be PUNISHED.
This song was written more than 2 decades before the Black Lives Matter movement, but it did and still does a wonderful job of bringing matters of race relations into a Christian music scene that DID NOT TALK ABOUT IT AT ALL; while still ensuring they promoted the Biblical view of oneness and reminding us of a God who will judge those who do not respect His creation across the aboard (note how they talk about the fact that all races are God's valuable and artistic creation...all that was built up to let you know that casually mistreating His creation is an insult...it warrants respect instead - "I tip my hat to the colourful arrangement, 'cause I see the beauty in the tones of our skin.")

💖💖💖💖💖 I noticed that as well and love the part where they acknowledge that "Ignorance has wronged some races." Not enough people...especially white people...like to acknowledge the wrongs done to other races over ignorance and like to cry that they're being blamed for things their ancestors did. They don't realize that ignorance can lead to them repeating history if we don't acknowledge the past and fix the present for a better future for all!! I love people of all races but it really breaks my heart how black people have been treated these past few years. I'm doing my best to speak out against the mistreatment of all of them and have supported a few black owned companies by buying some amazing gear. My favorite shirt I bought says, "You don't have to be black to support black people."

@@amberscoutstarwatcher With love and respect, notice that you did not include God or anything to do with equality. Instead it seems that the divide is widened by your comment instead of brought together by it's substance. I only say this a a Christian to edify the church according to the Word of God so please understand that I pass no judgment, I only offer a perspective and ask that you consider it. Personally, I have children that are "black"," white", and Puerto Rican and am myself native American, Irish, German and Spanish by ancestry. Notice that I am not "white" because I am a representation of the artistry of Jesus and that is too narrow of a word to describe the depth of culture in all of us across time. By the standard of white or black, I am clearly in the white column but, that is the very essence of racism, to divide each other among immutable characteristics. I do say the location of my ancestors because it is relevant to the customs and traditions of their now passed away, long forgotten, ways. A lot of those ways have been edited by God in us to be more like Him. Some of those ways are captive by our ignorance yet they offer wisdom to heal the very wounds that we are trying to repair. The best way forward is to see each other as fellow human beings and all loved by the Father who know and believe in Him. I hope and pray you receive this message with love and peace.

@@amberscoutstarwatcher I can agree to an extent of what you are saying, but I have to digress. You comment that "especially white people" is very stereotypical. I am white however, I have different bloodlines in me. My mother was full Sicilian Italian, and my Father was a mixture of French, Irish & English. And if you know anything about history as you claim that it will repeat itself. You would know that the English enslaved the Irish and brought them here to the Colonies and treated them 10x worse than 90% of any of the blacks, yet do you see the Irish to this day complaining? Hardly! That's why they are called the Fighting Irish! It's in my blood! People need to get over themselves and turn to Christ! Otherwise, Metallica says it best: "Nothing Else Matters!"
