Awesome video, I always enjoy the history behind the Michael Myers mask! I got myself all set for this Halloween. I got the TOTS Halloween 2 mask, a pair of coveralls, workboots, and i'm ready for a Halloween party! I'm 5'10 and quite lean, so i guess I can pass as H1 or H2 Michael haha. A happy Halloween in advance to you! :D
Nick Castle had kept the original hero mask after filming H1 and hung it on his wall, he kept it for 2 years and in that time it had yellowed, then Debra Hill had asked him to borrow the mask cause they couldn't replicate it, and he never got it back after H2, cause Warlock took it with the costume, boots and weapons, during the filming of Halloween 2, Warlock had added Velcro to the neck, due to it flaring out when he wore it, which he hated. and when he would pull the mask off, he grabbed the mask by the hair, pinched the nose then grabbed the eyecuts, which is why the mask has all the markings on it when you see it in H2, none of it was from Debras smoking, should you ever come across that false story. Debra DID keep the mask during the filming of H2, in a shoe box, but that was only after each day of shooting, not after filming H1.
Hi great video, but as I understood it the original Kirk mask was from an original cast of Bill Shatner made for Star Trek in the late 60s which was used in an episode that required a double of Kirk, Bill Shatner mentions this here ruclips.net/video/sMrM1qOurRk/видео.html
Hey, thanks for watching and commenting. I know Shatner doesn't think that the mask was based on the lifecast from The Devil's Rain, his reasoning being that the mask came out the same year. For me, his opinion doesn't hold up against the many sources that think otherwise. Take a look at the Devil's Rain cast. It just IS the DP 75 mask. It's the one all the replica mask makers have used.
