Hey this video is really awesome. Have been watching (and will continue to watch it again and again). It's interesting how proper form makes all the difference in whatever sport we are doing, e.g. deadlifts, squats, SUP racing, SUP paddling.. rock on.
I love your explanations! you use many ways to explain and we understand more and more! Great teaching. I will began ISUP this year, and expect to put in practice all your teaching!
Thank you so much for this video! I can't wait to put this to action. My paddling is sure to improve drastically. I am doing my first race (non-professional, just fun) in two months!!!!
Nice demo - grab yourself a Hamboards paddle if you do a lot of street paddling, well worth it over the Kahuna Stick. Although - in Nosara, I'm guessing not so much on the skateboarding.
Great video, loads of information in there!! But one question, why does the paddle exit the water when so far behind your feet? My trainer insisted that I should remove it from the water when on feet level, as the rest of the stroke is counter-productive (pushing the water up, the board is pushed back down, into the water)
Nice video, many very good points. Maybe the canoe accelerates because it was lower in the water and as it rises it planes better. Me I bend the knees, and push my board down and forward just before paddle entry, hence my board is rising and planes moments before it would if I used paddle power and speed to plane it. I paddle at the top of the up down cycle. Of course the higher the speed the more continuous the plane, and the slower the speed the more vertical motion can help me.
Did you ever try to put a float on the paddle right past the flap, so you can put some weight on it? I thought about it because I have a bad back and rollerblade with poles and lean on them a lot to use them like crutches
Went on the river this afternoon on my race board, I applied your tips. I definitely noticed more speed straight away. Thanks mate
Best break down and illustration of paddling techniques on RUclips. Thanks alot.
Thank you buddy for all these teachings. I go back to your videos each spring when I restart paddling. Best regards from France 😉🤙
Absolutely perfect explanation. I loved the super high attention to detail throughout the entire stroke. Can't wait to see more of these. 10/10. 😁👍🔥
There are 10+ videos on stroke technique and technical sup maneuvers coming! Glad you enjoyed this one. Stay tuned for more!
Wow! This explanation connected so many things for my paddle boarding! Thank you 🙌🏼

Thank you for your generosity. Would it be possible to know the paddleboard and rider´s sizes?
This is a 14 x 25' and I'm 6'3, 200 lbs.
Nice video, many very good points.

What model of qb paddle you use whit this board? I have this board and want try qb V-drive model, what you think?
What hardboard would you recommend for downwinding in 30-60 knots ?
30 - 60 is WINDY! : ) SIC makes some good downwind boards. Make sure it's super stable for you. Stability is speed and power!
