As a die hard Rays fan I have to say I do see your point but Glasnow should be back very soon and on top of that the Rays are known for getting production out of pitchers others team couldn’t. I’m have a good feeling the Rays will pick someone up or make a trade to help the bullpen and be right back on track again because that’s what they always do
We don't even need to trade for anyone. We can send chirinos fleming or Rasmussen to the bullpen as long relievers now that Glasnow is healthy. Obviously it depends on how well Rasmussen comes back in August. In the meantime Armstrong and Kittredge should be back within the next 4-6 weeks.
@@acruzro95 Kittredge is the key for me. If we can hang around and be a solid team until he's back, I think we have a great stable as we did previously. Adam (despite some recent shakiness), Fairbanks and Kittredge is a lockdown 7-8-9 inning combo. If we can get somebody else plugged in at a high-level, that would be icing. I think the Rays also do a good job backloading starting pitchers whereas other teams let them eat innings all season. The flip side is our bullpen is tired. If we can find a great balance and have people be rested, but well-versed, that's a dangerous combo going into September / October when it matters.

Rays have been incredibly great! The series losses were blips as they now continue to dominate. The team does almost everything right to win and really are within reach to win almost every game, often coming from behind if needed to do so. Best team so far by far and if they can continue to be close to this good will be standing all the way to the big dance this season. Yankee fan here so I am not thrilled to be saying all this.
And one month later my Orioles are one game behind you guys. Your little seven game slide helped us quite a bit. But it's going to be a fun rest of the season there's no doubt about that. Just wrapped a series with Boston to improve to 43-19. Important series coming up against the rangers who are just tearing the cover off the ball and pitching very well! Should be a good litmus test! The pen is shaky, no question! Adam seems to have righted the ship at the back half of the pen and the addition of Armstrong should help steady things as well. This front office is, in my opinion, the best in baseball! I don’t doubt them and believe they will do everything they can to help bolster the pen.
Ok Glasnow is pitching Sunday. The 20-1 game was against all Durham pitchers and they came in and it was a learning experience. Yeah that's how they do it and they go back to Durham and work on it and come back much better. Its not a magic wand and it's only 1 loss. The bullpen has been riddled with injuries and they kept winning anyway. They will be coming back too. You forgot to mention that the Rays are the fastest team, in MLB they lead in stolen bases. They are bringing up Bruhan today from Durham and he's the fastest one of all. We have an outfielder in Durham that's even faster and might be the fastest in MLB. true, but they’ve also beaten some pretty good teams. I try not to pay too much attention to schedule difficulty for any team because at the end of the day it’s still hard to consistently beat any major league team no matter how good you are
Look at their may schedule, theyve played the second best record in baseball 3 times now and have not had a break all month, they probably have had one of the hardest schedules in the entire mlb

Hell ya. Dodgers though were tied for 3rd best mob record to the orioles. Nonetheless, the rays are gonna be fine. They need a couple bullpen arms which come cheap at the trade line. Having a strong offense was a surprise and really elevates their shit if a WS title. I hope they can sustain this.
