when the chef/co- owner said tasting the food takes you back to the moment reminded me of the food critic tasting the Ratatouille in Ratatouille
EXACTLY
Ezra Garcia that’s so funny, exactly what popped up in my mind to! What a great movie...
I just don’t get why people are so negative interms of fine dining experience. Its not just about food. Its about the whole experience that you enjoy with all your senses. The quality of food served at such restaurants and the ingredients used are usually top notch.Well people who never worked as a chef or in Hospitality itself may find it very difficult to understand. But it is what it is,Its art on a plate created with passion and pure dedication.
Too many people find negativity so much easier. Trash whatever they don't/wont/ or cannot understand, or appreciate.
maybe because one dinner is my half month salary....
@@cskabos And a tiny little plop of food half the time. There is more to the quality of a dish than just personal taste preferences.
because there is more food tastier than these.. european thinks about quality but in asia for food its about quality and quantity.
serve some food and it would be appreciated. a dish doesn't need to be artistic. it needs to taste good and look like food. fine dining is a scam to anyone who doesn't have that kind of money. they serve bite size portions and call it a dish. it may be an experience, but a pointless one at that. I could eat at a diner and have a better experience.
Please GQ do a part 2, I would to see the Hamptons Restaurant and the new 11 Madison!
Gangreen167 there’s a show on Netflix called seven days out that covers the opening of the restaurant
thanks im tuning in now @@AJ-xf6um
2 years down the line ... and they're gone. They're not even featuring on the top 50 list.
@@deonellis8577 they won't feature in that list ever again. The organisation that makes the list made a rule that the past no.1 restaurants won't ever feature on the top 50 list again because this will make the list with the same restaurants every year. Instead, they made a 'best of the best' list which features this restaurant and other such restaurants in the hall of fame.
so he tells his hot dog story every time huh
Hot dogs can be one of the best things you ever tasted, but I know you are speaking metaphorically.
I mean when you're number one you can do anything you want.

Amazed how the Chef has no ego
on film
Great video. Knowing what it takes to run a successful restaurant this video gave me chills. So much respect for this crew
It’s 11 courses paired with wines, I’m a big guy and I get full before the end of dinners like these. Some people want the best iPhone, some want to try the best food....stop winging about money and how much things cost in this life.
Also, people who enjoy food are not trying to be better than you...
What a great comparison hahaha
Some see it as people flaunting their status. Which it sometimes is.
You can never have the best iPhone because it doesnt exist lol. iPhones are the biggest POS.
Just because YOU don't think you're better than anyone while you eat expensive food...
It's quite obvious that many many many people eat expensive food every single day just because they're rich. Not because they appreciate the food.
Let's be real. This type of establishment is meant for rich people. Just because poor people wander in and spend all their money.... Well they're fools.
"It's a matter of perspective and taste" with one precondition - money. But look, the poor complain about pretentiousness, but they are not going to be taken seriously or be undermined. What about Marco Pierre White? He had the gut to slap the Michelins and went down the ivory tower. To him, Michelins isn't about food, but about the story behind it that can be made up for better marketing. My mum cooks well too but since I am not famous no matter how much credit I give her, her food isn't going to sell. On the other hand, if Marco says this dish is inspired by my mum and starts telling the story of his childhood, pretending that the dish reflects this private story as if the fish bite you eat brings you to Marco's childhood, then the marketing comes and we have a wonderful pricy but sell-out fish bites. Business is business but they pretend to be Art. This is exactly what people condemn and have reservations for.
Restaurants like these are about the experience. The effort that the chefs put into the food. The care. The attention. The time. The patience. The creative thought behind curating food into art. So if you cant appreciate that then don’t go. But I would love to go to a Michelin star restaurant. I’m a chef. So I know the food won’t be full of crazy flavor. But the experience will be well worth it.
i wish i was rich enough to transfer 125 friends to the Hamptons
8:37 they even have the best gel pen in the world. Pilot G2 07.
How much is it
@@edwardjarvis3442 you can buy a 6 pack for $10. They're not that expensive, but they are the best. Made in Japan
You don't know what you're talking about. It's all about that Uniball Jetstream
Love and respect the positivity in this video, it is amazing.
Nino would've cleaned up the place nicer...
RedHead Productions Ramsey fans are Rollin in!!
I'm just here for the Nino
Yes but I would like to know if he will take photos of him cleaning just so we know that he did for sure.
I love the passion of those guys!
Wow. The FOH/BOH dynamic is stark in this video. I hope there was a least one moment when the kitchen and service staff were able to or even are able to have those kinds of moments. There's no them without us, man.
Beautifully put together, good luck to the both of them and their team

Looks like it's for real the best restaurant ever, so nice!
Forbes should be on the look out for a new contender in the top 10.
Signature Restaurant in San Antonio Texas
ricardo gutierrez i live in SA lol what restaurant is it
what dish is that at 0:42? looks like turbot
Empty plates, empty plates, empty canvas, I learn to add things all my life. Empty plates empty plates. take things.
Please part 2
Im watching many videos regarding this restaurant and it's really cool, but I'm sick of that hot dog story!
His philosophy of less is more mirrors that of Japanese flower arrangers where the space between the flowers in a floral arrangement is aesthetically more important than the flowers themselves. This is called 'Ikebana'.
Negative space and the art of non design are fundamental in all art all over the world. The process of negative palette is the purest form of that for me personally and really difficult. How do you create the same balance and depth by taking away? I think it comes to how we prep but I'm still learning
Daniel Humm seems to be high all the time
How to Apply this Restaurant for cook
Only thing i can say is WOW ..!
I'm currently studying culinary arts.i hope someday I'll become an executive chef
Alexa Esco you can n will do it
@@matkaplio5390 thank you
If you live in nyc, take advantage of it
If you wanna get better eat better go to restaurants try things you wouldn't and eat food you don't like! That last bit is essential to growing the pallet and understanding the importance of process in relation to produce.
When did they get #1? I thought austera still had it.
I know how good these chefs are and I know it's probably worth it, but I can't wrap my head around paying $500 for a single spear of asparagus and a couple dots of sauce
it’s never just 1 plate for that price. the $500 price tag includes usually a minimum of 10 courses and it’s rare to any room in your stomach after.
They look so serious and terrified the workers...it doesnt look like a big family 😶
jesus, the logistics of moving all those people and paying for them to live there. there is some serious money in this restaurant it is absolutely insane
They say madmen rule this world to create something truly beautiful. men with an unlimited source of imagination to obtain power. Chef Daniel Humm you are a true Man gone mad in the most beautiful and wonderful way. thank you for creating a new world and a new stepping stone to the younger generation. much love
This reminded me movie "Burnt"
Heston moved his restaurant to Australia!
Would he ever move on with the 'empty plate' philosophical point?
he folds his arms like Koffmann
plates emptier than my heart
''For me an empty plate is such a beautiful thing'
Cooking for me my life
Everyone that works at a restaurant totally goes to the Hampton’s said no one ever ......
Isnt this the exact same building as the Jean Georges in NYC??? Wtfs going on?
Yes it is, the same bum restaurant group, I’m glad you caught that FRAUD LOL 😂.
I wish I was part of this team... 😢
All these people talking about overpriced food, bla bla bla... Do you know that most great chefs don't make money with their michelin starred restaurant ? Some actually sell at a lost and compensate with their brasseries, minor restaurants, etc... So no, it's definitely not about money, it's simply about the love and dedication for outstanding cuisine
What about trying Colombian food like BANDEJA PAISA and charcoal grilled style chicken @ pollos Mario restaurant in Jackson heights Queens... yummy..
Respect
I'd probably still be hungry after eating in a place like this.
Not after 11 courses you won't
5:54 Wow did she just eat out of the plate.
that was no plate, but a tray
Cheeky nibble @ 5:54 ;)
No#1 restoraunt where you will be hungry after you leave your table
Dropped to 4th best this year.
Let me order a cheeseburger and some fries please...
Will I need to stop at In-And-Out after I finish my meal there?
No. You have 11 courses.
Yes, if you want good food.
'Minimal' food = Maximum profits!
Only here for the hats
emptier plate = better restaurant
Short lived. Noma opened again and Eleven Madison Park hasn't been in the top three since (I know Noma hasn't been named the best in the last couple of years, but it's a definite top three restaurant that takes up a spot).
5.15 ....The Dream Beaver
I probably couldn't afford the appetizer
how do they have a profit with that much staff...? haha
You are not paying the food.... you are overpaying everything around it
I will deffinetly never go there
I see you 5:55
Nice video. Thanks!
um how is his entire team so attractive omg
why did they move?
Did you watch this at all dumbass
Justin L nope lol
4:38
I know a lot of people who do not like empty plates 'o'
Someone needs a hotdog cart
The most amazing thing about this piece is that it's definitely in the running for "most boring thing I've watched this year". No insights were gained, no flaws revealed, no truths exposed, no story told, no interesting or stylistic presentation, just incredibly bland, bare anecdotes they've told thousands of times.
derp why’d you watch it then
@@fullmoonproductions7188 so basically what you're asking me is, why did i give the video a chance if it was going to end up being boring? maybe think about that for a second.
derp I’m asking more why you continued to watch it when you realized it was boring
@@fullmoonproductions7188 I'm a completionist? I dunno.
that’s true tbf

World best cap revival
The video does not say exactly when the restart happened with relation to COVID.
been there. first time at a restaurant with a michellin star. Super disappointing tbh
What was your experience like?
3 michelin stars , Pellegrino best restaurant in the world , relais &chateaux distinction..but i dont see no tripadvisor award??? Faill!!
This is not El Bulli.
McDonalds > That restaurant
12:38 He just threw that paddle so hard it disappeared.
Chef seems like the nicest guy ever. Something one never says about a chef. The rest of this seems corporate, contrived, pretentious, stuffy, trying to hard to be hip and modern and appeal to pretentious garbage people. Just the fact that they have a position called beverage director nearly made me vomit.
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Less is More!
Liked it much better before the renovation, sadly. So much charm. After it looks very generic. A real shame.
