- Mo Rocca has a table at the recently re-imagined Eleven Madison Park, in New York City, recently named the number one restaurant in the world. So why, after reaching the pinnacle of fine dining, did the restaurant's owners decide to shut the place down and start all over again?

The old decor looked a lot better... Would love to go there one day though.
$300 a person. That's actually not that unreasonable for such an incredible dinner.
365$
2 ppl 750$ and you will leave starving plus taste completely blah !!! 100% TOURIST trap !!!! Go to Del Posto !!! Food will blow your mind !!!!!
@@lauranyc4966 the number 1 restaurant in the world "taste completely blah"? Some people will pay $$$ for broadway, concerts, collectibles etc, some people enjoy fine food. If u cant accept that u need to grow up
@@lauranyc4966 Gaia Italian cafe got more stars on yelp than Del Posto and it's about a third or quarter of the price!
$365 for a vegan meal, laughable...
I like the original painting much better. The artist ruined the previous art.
im afraid that quote is originally from Tancredi a.k.a. Tomasi de Lampedusa in "The Leopard". But it's a great quote
Great piece. Would love to visit this restaurant.
A beautiful, classic decor and food as art, and this 5 minute ogle is the only bit of it I can afford.
Learn to cook! Don't be intimidated by what you see here. A lot is presentation. It's called plating. Take classes, even weekend college classes. You can do it!!
Exactly. And just trust your imagination. You can make pea soup very easy and with some roasted seeds as sprinkeling and maybe a dollop of cremefraice and some chopped herbs as topping - you have a wonderfull meal for under 10 dollars for 4 prs. - and a concept/recipe you can flavour in many different ways :)
@Hello Lisa McAllister, How are you doing?
Badass!
I can't believe that they did this. A lot of $$ to destroy a restaurant, and rebuild it again. Nerves of steel? I would say so.
Beautiful, love too eat there someday
2020 Covid: Hello" 😅
It's nice they have table linens.
I would happily pay 300 $ for dinner there. Even for lunch
$300 sounds steep for a meal. But I'd pay that for the best restaurant in the world. Heck considering how many restaurants there are in the world I'd pay that for the 50th best restaurant.
Only in New York,no one would even think of doing that in NE.Ohio.Little wonder why everything's so ridiculously expensive there.💸
I much prefer the old historic decor, the new style is very boring- I was shocked that is what they came up with. Oh well. I won't be eating there anyways.
10/10 on the jacket-shirt-tie combo, Mo.
I enjoyed this segment, but visually speaking, the food and fashion really stole the show.
$300 per person??? How about for a table of 5?!
I guess, $1,500.
300 is actually not that much compared to Central Virgilio Martinez Restaurant in Peru
Gee, I wonder what 5 x 300 is...?
I want all the kitchen equipment they throw out!!!
Do they serve hot dogs asking for a friend….
It's scandalous that people can spend 300 dollars per person to eat a meal which frankly might not even fill them up.
So much cruelty, so many tortured animals... tragedy. I like food that doesn’t scream.
Almost five minutes of free advertising. And what drab and disappointing decor.
$300 a meal, artistic eating, makes you feel like your one of those uppity ups.
Sex and the city
the Taco Bell down the street from me was just renovated, will there be a story on that too?
I don't know, is that Taco Bell among the best restaurants in the world that's recruited dozens of artisans to reinvent themselves even at the height of their popularity? I'm not understanding the negative comments here. This is exactly the type of human interest story that Sunday Morning normally covers.
What a joke, specifically that step and painting , complete waist of materials
