    Dad had four belt driven rock pickers, when us kids refused to pick up rocks, he would whip the fan belt off the Fergie, and there would be a sudden interest in picking up rocks.

    That used to be done by hand and then dry stacked to make fences, you have enough rock there to build a mountain. Driving in the wet dirt takes some skill and Matt has that down pat. It is great that you are all such cheerful people.

    Seeing that wet black soil road driving brought back memories of driving out your way for overnight parties at some of your neighbours back in the 80’s! Come hell or high water, we were getting down those roads to have fun!!

    That rock picker is one tough machine. Best part was seeing Brad smiling when he was giving you info on running the rock picker. So glad he's back home safely with his family. I can't imagine trying to work ground that has so many rocks and several are the size of riprap. You guys collect enough to line water ways to stop erosion pretty quickly. I'm blessed that the most common here is tree roots. We still break disks and planter's. Can't imagine how much damage you guys have working those fields every year. Great video Matt.

    What a machine, that low down slo mo was unreal Matt, you had a good teacher as well, especially how to hit the go fast button 😂. Exciting ride him, reminds me of my days at Bunna Bunna station trying to get out to Bellata on the black road 😬

    What type of rock are you picking? sandstone?.00
    The machine you are using is designed and buildt in Finland, and tested on field where the rocks are mainly granite.
    Hard core you might say 🙂

    Always wondered why a manufacturer hasn't made a rock picker that has a cone crusher incorporated into it. There seems to be a lot of time spent going away and tipping off. It could crush the rocks down to about 20mm and spread them over the picked ground.

    • @charlesyeo8252
      @charlesyeo8252 10 месяцев назад +4

      They do make a machine that breaks up the rocks but it is a third the width as this machine and needs twice the power.

      When your core competence is farming, not material handling, adding a material handling feature like rock crushing would be far too maintenance intensive, IMHO.

    Need a tractor with a seat that swivels, never made sense to me that more of them don’t do it given how much time you’re expected to be looking in both directions. I agree with an earlier comment, might need to start using some of that rock on the roads around the properties, not that there’s anything wrong with a good drift session. LOL.
