1:19:25 What an interesting take. Riot noticed that Yuumi binded very well with literal beginners of the game at sub lvl 30, but she paradoxically also never allows anyone to go beyond being a literal beginner due to how little mechanical gameplay there is on her (especially post re-work). And she may even indirectly encourage beginners to never progress because of that.
"Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity." I feel like this very applicable when people hit that huge win streak. It can feel like a it's lucky or not earned. But it's not possible to capitalize on those free wins if you're not ready for it.
"I played Sage. He can make an Anivia wall, and he has a Revive. But the Revive seems pretty useless, it takes a long time. Your teammate's corpse would have to be like, behind a wall."
As a woman enchanter main who did start this game over 12 years ago /because/ of an ex bf, that was my exact experience/mindset/views on the matter---yes, i do feel trapped in support and as i have only played support for over 12 years I don't feel like I'm 'allowed' to branch out now as it's too late-this is not to say I don't absolutely love the champions I play and their role because I do. I laughed and felt my heart warm to hear that email, I see you sis and I'm right there with you! :) (I'm a Yuumi main too with over 1m exp because I genuinely love that champion, lmao. But, I have been very disciplined not allowing myself to play her at all the last several weeks and playing Zyra/Senna/Ashe instead trying to "learn to carry as support".)
I encourage you to take the dive into another lane. I'd suggest mid. Pick a champ you love, go into practice tool every day and cs the first 15 waves until you can hit around 70 to 80 cs, mostly by just last hitting and not using abilities, then you are ready to play mid. You'll have some hard times, but after 50 to 100 games on your mid champ you will have a whole new perspective on the game
@@benhughes5308 Honestly, I've always wanted to play Ahri. She's my favorite champion that I don't play-I love her old lore, lore is huge for me honestly outside of aesthetics. I did try Sera mid a few times when I got forced to mid, but she doesn't mid well--and I normally play her support if I do play her. Zyra mid doesn't work well either sadly. I truly appreciate the tip. I'll try that, thank you and happy holidays to you and yours
I had the same experiences, for years I feel trapped in support, but this season I encouraged myself to play Viktor and Vex and I really have a great time, you can try to move some champs from supp to mid so you can use to be in others lanes. It's never too late to switch roles!
@@Nyx-bq4sr I did try when I get forced into mid/jg because for whatever reason the game made me. But Seraphine/Raka/Zyra just don't do well mid--I'm not the first and I know I won't be the last to complain about that so I'll leave it there. it's not that the champs can't mid it's that they are completely outclassed in that role---and in Seraphines case she can't be alone as she has no mobility and mids need to be able to roam to help if needed. I've found Raka to be a better mid than Sera in all honestly. But, digress. In a perfect world, if I could do /anything/ I wanted I would want to Top Yuumi. I love watching videos of people doing amazing and interesting things with her, it always makes my day to see Miss Kitty shine off role and for people to see she does more than what they think she does. However, right now this requires more skill and in game knowledge than I have--so for now I'll just watch others do it and smile. I always said, if I did go mid I would go Ahri. I still remember when she came out and I just /loved/ her entire kit. The only time I do play her is in those RGM modes because who cares it's RGM, but I absolutely /love/ it. She has the /best/ skins too---it's a waste of money and a 'secret shame' but I actually usually by her skins just because I'm waiting for those RGM's to come around so I can play her and be extra pretty dancing around people with my foxfire. I actually did the entire quest line in TFT to get the extra special Ahri emotes---worth. I love the one she's like a cat, I think they were playing to Yuumi lovers honestly there. I've also (briefly) thought about Rakan mid because one of the things I love about Yuumi is her mobility and ability to move around team fights and position herself. It's really annoying to be caught by cc doing it, but it is totally fair and I actually think that's one of the better things they did with her. It makes you have to weigh moving around a lot more heavily in team fights--one of the small ways we can now show skill expression----digress. But, I love how Rakan is similar to Yuumi in that he can use other champs positions to move around. I would do Karma mid, I used to play her pre-rework and I've never gotten over what they did to her---I miss my exploding ranged shields on minions GDI. It's been years and I'm still salty af about it. She was my first 'serious' champion and the first one I picked to play for myself; as soon as she was reworked she just wasn't the same so I dropped her. I enjoy spell casters. ^_^; a lot. AD makes me uncomfortable and feel very unprotected/vulnerable, one of the reasons I am trying AD champs in support now (ashe/senna) because it's forcing me to learn where to stand and kite on my own---it's harrrrrd which is why my admiration for people who have 'fancy feet' has honestly increased even more. Honestly, if my brain allowed me to make another account-depsite the fact I have unlocked every champion...even though I only play a handful of them, I have spent way too much time/money on the account I have to start over, eff that noise. I think I would just sit pretty in mid come hell or high water and tell my buddies to eff off if they complained they had to support if we played together---dw said with love, haha. Heimer maybe as a back up if I didn't just play Ahri---I don't see her banned often tbh. Bandle City champions are near and dear to my heart; I just think they are the cutest.
@@yinyuestarsong4757I really understand your discomfort with AD champions, I have the same experiences and even though I played also for a few years now, I don't know what AD items do hahaha. This is a little bit random, but if you want to try it, if you have an Xbox pass you unlock all the champions while the pass it's active! I hope that you finally would be able to play Ahri, it's sounds like you really love her
As usual, this podcast hits home hard for me. Listening to others describe their struggles with perfectionism and allowing self to make mistakes, well it makes me feel less pathetic for having the same struggles. You guys are great. Thanks for all you both do.
Def not just you, I'm right there with you buddy. All my league friends leaving me in the dust (we can only play norms together now) because my main champion (Yuumi) can't carry and I only enchanter support. I've been trying to branch out to Senna/Ashe/Zyra but it's just been a shit show because even if I know what to do, I ping and I'm warding no one tends to follow so I attempt to do the right call on my own praying/hoping someone follows me and breaks out of ape hive mind mentality. I usually get jumped (no surprise, and yes it's on me because "even if you know the right call, stay with your team--you're support you don't make the calls even if it is the right one." Legit so hard to put up with dumbasses though, you DON'T do dragon if it's not soul WITH baron buff when you can easily push to take inhibs and END the game but no....ape hive mind at play and then we get wiped for soul/elder and the game ends...this has been a rinse/repeat thing) but I often do get the objective on my own. It's frustrating as hell. (Bronze/Silver elo for context---my friends (High gold/Plat) swear I'm not bronze/silver it's just the fact "You can't carry. Learn to carry and then you can play what you want.")
@@yinyuestarsong4757 "you're support you don't make the calls even if it is the right one" is not about 'the support', anyone can and should make calls(don't forget that in higher elos the support IS the playmaker and wins games alone from good roams and rotations) , but what's important for improving is knowing the right call, if your team doesn't follow it then you can decide whether you should e.g. take the objective on your own or go with the team to reduce their chances to int. Don't forget what's important is your thought process and decision making. It's enough that YOU know what's the correct thing to do, it will lead to improvement long-term, even if you follow your team and you all int. If you think that's what stopping you from climbing, I can assure you it's not, it's probably other things you're not good enough at yet. This is normal if you started learning the game on yuumi, as that champion prevents you from learning a lot of fundamentals.
Dear Curtis and Nathan, been watching you guys for a long time. I just here to give you guys some food of thought! A Korean challenger ADC youtuber called professor DDang also share an incredibly similar concept with you guys in his ADC guide that by doing basic fundamentals (champion identity etc.), one can win games even at challenger level. Maybe all great minds think alike!
I will say, watching Alois' content has made me a much more aware player. Like because of his emphasis on eco, minion waves, and watching for jungler, my lane phases have become infinitely smoother. He has me paying attention to those things even if i am not operating at the same level.
His content plus other educational stuff has made be die to jungler ganks probably 90% less often than I used to. Optimizing crashes, wards, and resets make the whole process a lot more consistent. In my last few ranked games, I probably died once to an ulting Rengar after I was already low from killing my lane opponent.
Just recently decided to start taking the game seriously and try to improve, your content has been a godsend guys, i dont understand how you dont have at least 100k subs. Keep it up kings
Alois does the unranked to master series so that he can explain the fundamentals he teaches while he does them, which he says he can't do while tryharding on his main. That being said, the important things I learned from Alois could've been learned with him playing on a second account in master/grandmaster/challenger where he wasn't tryharding as much so he could explain everything. Idk if i buy the "i need to smurf in emerald to be educational" angle, but I did learn quite a bit from watching him smurf even if it's shitty.
@@jonathanwynne6925and another point is that at high elo there are no moments off, just talking about something can make you not think about what is happening on the map and doing that makes games lose able.
I personally love watching unranked to masters because it shows me what the champ can do when played at a high level versus players at my elo. Like as if the challenger is doing the limit testing for me. Keep it up guys I love the podcast ❤
You still have to do the limit testing yourself. You can see what the champ can do, but you have to still do it yourself if you wanna master that champ. Just because Alois can out trade a Rumble as Kayle, it doesn't mean you can just go for any trade yourself
I think the difference in mindset of watching these kind of videos also mattered. What goob is saying is that the high elo players are showing what the champion is capable of, a goal that we want to achieve. While what Nathan and Curtis are saying is that these videos can be misleading in letting people think "a silver player can do this too." Both points are valid.
I love the illaoi example. When I play with my friends they always ban Zed, Illaoi, Briar, ect, and it took awhile to realize it's mostly that they just don't know the cooldowns or abilities of any of these low elo stompers.
this is why people keep bitching about zed even after he got nerfed to the ground lol. reddit is full of scrubs like this that just constantly complain about champions
I genuinely miss my low elo days where fights were full commitments every single time. Obviously heavy trading, identifying you can win the fight and pushing for it, or that you'll lose and disengaging is the optimal way to play the game, but few things are as unsatisfying as facing people who make the same assessment. They realize the trade is too much and instantly exit the battle. It's smart. It's the correct play. It makes them a good player who can survive to fight another day without giving away gold and XP, but god it's just so much of a let down compared to a good old fashioned brawl until someone just fuckin' DIES.
Valorant are entirely different champions from LoL, BUT the old saying for Valorant is that it's mix of LoL and Counter-Strike, FPS shooter with characters who have abilities. 3 main abilities, 1 always free, and an ultimate that you have to build up "orb points" to gain use of the ultimate. Orb points are earned by: kills, desths, and little orbs physically floating on set locations throughout the map teams fight over. hope this helps.
51:05 I wouldn't say it's useless. So long as the videos are prolific enough that you are not only seeing many different kinds of matchups, but also the same matchups again and again, and the higher elo player is explaining the concepts, there's a lot that can be absorbed through osmosis. DirtyMobs is the best at this that I've seen. He's posted so many Illaoi videos where he continually breaks down the nuances of his little tricks, and he executes the same general game plan formula every time. I found myself just absorbing a general feel for how to play the champion. I've watched tons of guides and coachings, and DirtyMobs has given me the best instincts out of all of them, at least for a specific champion. Most of my fundamental league knowledge comes from watching Neace's live coachings, which introduced me to the vast majority of league's champions on an extremely basic level, as well as introducing me to some extremely basic nuances on how to play.
You can put up Sage's wall to res people who die out in the open. Edit: Letting your brain rest while you're dead in Val is the same as alt-tabbing while walking to lane.
aahh, i wish you had touched on the rise in skill level of allies and enemies during the topic of the lp ranges. what i mean is that, one of the reason one has to constantly brush up on fundamentals is that while the fundamentals themselves don't change the execution of them can get harder when facing more skilled players. this is true in my oppinion for almost all fundamentals. enemies denying your reset, making it harder to cs, being better at trading and so on.
For some of the enchanters it's not about the champion itself but how they are played. Take Soraka for instance. She can sit back and heal, but really she's a fairly strong lane bully. Q + auto allows you to pretty much out-trade anyone in short trades, and you also win all-ins if you manage to silence a key ability.
I've been trying to get better about that very concept. You're 100% right. My buddies keep urging me to drop enchanters "they can't carry" but I see people do it all the time and I know with some practice if they can do it, I can learn to do it too. This made me smile.
@@yinyuestarsong4757 Yeah, it's all about playing it properly. That playstyle for Soraka only works if you can space really well, but if you're winning your lane through outrading you can also roam mid with the prio and help them get a good reset or even do a gank (no one expects the Soraka gank), and then use R to help win top too. So suddenly you're winning all three lanes and have the amount of presence of a jungler.
@@butterflyfx57 No one especially expect a random banana to half health them with a single point and click then they realized "HOLY SHIT when did Soraka get fed?"
I see you have "Can't Hurt Me" on the wall; did they listen to his audiobook version of this? He did it interview style, it was really cool to listen to. The interviewer would read the book, and Goggins would comment and add context from first person. Really cool listen.
I might be confused, but in this episode you spoke about live coaching being helpful, while in one of the last few episodes (I can't remember specifically) you said it was a detriment to the coachee, and only beneficial to a potential audience rather than the client themself. Can I take this to mean it depends on a case by case basis?
I'd guess it depends on the client. The coach can say the client what to do and the client will do it. If the client understands why he's doing it it's good because he will understand when to repeat what the coach told him to do without him having to say it (with a bit of practice of course). But it's harder to do it while you are playing. You are under stress and you have to play. It's harder to focus on both what you are doing and what the coach is saying, on the other hand a viewer can focus on what the coach says. It also probably depends on the coach how much he will explain about the moves
Live coaching is good to introduce concepts. It's bad at teaching you why or how. All you get is the feeling without the understanding which usually comes in reverse. It's better to show after the match "here with Ekko, you can go behind the wall, press W, and appear while they last hit" and then practicing this technique. But to just introduce the concept you can force them to do it and then your brain kind of gets some of it, so it's not totally useless. Post game analysis is always better because the idea settles much better. Then after you can do a live coaching session for that concept or smth. There are many things you can't do live at all because without understing you can't even attempt to execute. But for most you can give someone the feeling. Especially with super new players. Tell them to use E on the low health minion or tell them that when their hands are green, they can attack the enemy and it does more damage (Grasp of the Undying). The higher in rank you go, the more abstract the concepts become and more complex the patterns that coaching live just isn't reasonable. You can still do it and discuss it after, but if you discuss it after, might as well do it in the review or smth. It's hard to say. When it comes to time vs benefit, analyzing vods/replays is the best thing we have currently.
I actually really enjoy Alois's unranked to masters series. I think he's very good at calling out every major decision he makes and why. He definitely spaces and outplays his opponent, but he tries to play noninteractice and calls out "spacing diff" or "well that was a bit of mechanics" when it happens. I don't think it's ideal, I'd rather just watch him play 50 games on a masters account, but that's not enough to rake in the viewers...
I don't quite get Curtis's point of it "being completely useless". When a low elo player looks at Alois being in their low elo habitat they'll see what he's doing differently from them. One will go "Oh, I would have done that instead, but this is what I should be doing here instead, huh". Obviously it's not entirely replicable but just knowing his thought process is helpful for improving.
I think challenger players doing unranked to challenger on champs they are not experienced on is the most useful of that type of content. Alois playing riven unranked to challenger is a bit pointless as he is just champ mastery gapping.
@monkeyman1118I've watched many of Alois' series and he would explain why he's able to beat a champion that's stronger than his. He wouldn't just dominate them in silence. That's the benefit, you get to hear a challenger think out loud in a matchup and rank you could be in next time you log in.
I wouldn't say Valorant is more forgiving as a game, that's Curtis' perception as a casual player. From a casual league player's perspective, dying is very forgiving in league too. You just sit in "time out" for a few seconds and you're back into it. The reality is that when taking any game seriously at a high level of competition, one mistake is often game ending, and it's all about mindset and how seriously you're taking the game. Dying and losing all your eco in Valorant is absolutely the difference between a win and a loss. Moving a pawn at the wrong time in chess is game over. I used to play WoW competitively and when you saw somebody on the enemy team use a cooldown at the wrong time, you knew that in exactly 1.5 minutes, you were going to win the game. League is probably more forgiving than most games tbh, in that you can make a major blunder and still win through no fault of your own.
Big fan of this comment. In any pvp game, margins which are made through mistakes will be capitalized upon at a high enough level and will subsequently occur less often. Basically every competitive game has a trend of safer player at higher levels of play/more developed meta, and it is up to the developers to make things as difficult to be safe with as possible
you made a comment about save rounds being "time off" in valorant, but the thing about save rounds is that your goal is too kill as many as possible and take ult orbs. Fighting for ult orbs is kind of like fighting for dragons in League. Also in valorant, agents like chamber and raze can win you save rounds because their ult can often kill two or 3 people without them having to buy a gun. The higher level you go, as people get better with the bullshit guns like the shorty it becomes easier to win save rounds because some dude will get a kill with a shorty, pickup a gun, then kill the other 4. just thought I'd add that.
re: low vs. high elo champ balance, I honestly think in most cases it's just a design issue. You might like Zed's kit, might enjoy playing him or have no issue playing against him, but if for the vast vast vast majority of players their response to playing against the champion is "I have no idea what's happening, what am I supposed to do against this," it's a failed design, and it doesn't really matter whether the champion is strong or weak; obviously when the champion is strong you'll see it more often, but the underlying issue will always exist.
To the enchanter point, I'm not a girl, but I did play a ton of support and specifically enchanters a couple of years after I started playing League. To this day, my highest rank ever achieved was playing enchanters (hit diamond 4 in two seasons back to back, back when d5 still existed. I never hit diamond before or again since, even after years of playing jungle), and Nami remains my most played champion ever, and my top 15 is like 8 enchanters, all of which I only played in ranked (I haven't played normals since season 5 lmao). I agree on most of the points the mail said, but I have a big disagreement on one point, and that's the "playing enchaters forced me to play defensive". The reason I picked up enchanters was because I could be super aggressive in lane, abusing range advantage, all while scaling into a teamfighting monster that denies every play the enemy wants to do. And I found that extremely fun. I found that playstyle by doing what Curtis said of "throwing shit at the wall and analyze later". I didn't watch any high elo player, or knew what Nami's identity was as a champion (or any other enchanter, for that matter). I just locked in my champ, and full sent it. I played hyper aggressive in every new matchup for months, then swapped to super defensive, and then middle ground. Tried seeing which matchups I can 1v2 zone off exp at lvl 1, which ones I needed to concede, which ones I could bully alone, which ones required my adc to step up, etc, etc, etc. I built my own view on enchanters' identity, and it wasn't a defensive one. It's definitely scary when you are a new player to full send it, especially if you are playing with premades and you don't wanna lose the game for them, but you know what? Still do it. Lose the game for them. You will lose a lot of games for a lot of people, and so will your friends. It's ok to go 0/15 on Lulu because you tried poking a Blitz at lvl 1 and made the game unplayable because you got hooked. Learn from it, do better next time. But don't sit back and let the game play itself. You can definitely carry on enchanters, but you're never doing that by afking 4 screens behind your adc
39:55 Been there before. Before I had serious work as an occupational therapist, my self-worth was horribly connected to this p*sspit of a game. Once I got my license and started working, I didn't seriously play ranked anymore and I don't tilt as often. I just stay on norms most of the time anyway. Besides, why spend time for an arbitrary rank in a video game? Its unfortunate that League was the catalyst for me to be extremely harsh on myself. I was already harsh and self depreciating already by default, but this game accelerated it to the point I'm still dealing with the fallout internally on a day to day basis.
My best friend is a support main and really really good Nami. I promise u its hard to find a more aggressive player than him and i wish u could see that when sayin enchanters that stay back as nature of the role haha ^^ Its awesome and hes often mvp and carry games in higher elos.
It's true, those are rare, but when you see a Soraka/Nami player playing in their face, poking them to death and spacing enemy bot like noobs it's sooooo good. Usually when they do that they just die tho lol
Why is it that no one references the ban rate of Zed in High Elo being high and only reference Low Elo Ban Rate? The High Elo ban rate literally is hovering around 15%-20%, roughly 5%-8% lower than low elos. Thats Diamaond+ and even Master+. Zed is one of the most banned champs in every single elo, its not just low elo.
Damn, was Curtis personally attacking me at the beginning of this video? LOL. I knew it was bad, but didn't really comprehend how bad it was. I'm really coinflip in lane, but I always know I can pop off in team fights. Great episode as usual gents. Also loving the Live Coaching on Twitch Nathan! Wish I could catch it live more.
I totally agree with the smurfing to diamond like series. They never say the dumb shit that they are NOT doing, they simply aren't even thinking about making the mistakes. I used to do taekwondo in university. I don't even know HOW to do a roundhouse kick wrong, I could actually try to imitate a student doing it wrong to show them how it looks like to others, and I actually can't do it. I've kicked probably 50000 times at least, it's less mentally taxing to do it correctly at that point.
This is very off topic but I think you have auto focus on, if you set it to manual and get it in focus before shoot you won't get those little zooms in and out. I think it comes from one of you being a *tiny* bit further forward than the other or it's trying to focus on something else
I have a massive range in my skill gap rating am a enchanter main currently & I'm am silver 2 currently struggling to get back to Gold when last season I peaked at Plat I feel like the majority of my games are lost because of players loosing the will to play a game out to its end....at least 60% of my wins/losses are because players give up...I make mistakes and can point them out in reviews and try to improve but even with this I am always relying on my allies skill unorder to win a game I have a amazing knowledge base on matchups, tempo, division making, objective control but I fail to implement it at times. I invited a new player to the game and she was able to place gold and even improve to almost emerald under my guidance they still acknowlage me as a better player yet I fail to improve and other than getting lucky with my teams I don't know what to do
Idk where i saw it but it's true that challenger plays don't really work on low elo because low ELO players don't react like challenger players. It's always good to see challenger players teach how to carry low wlo by actually playing against low ELO players.
I think a big thing you missed with the low vs high balance is the fact that not everyone can be in the top 50% of players. Literally by definition, half of the players in the game are below that mark. The fact of the matter is that league has millions of players and letting the game be unbalanced for most of them is just unrealistic. There are a ton of players who play casually and don't want to improve, and they vastly outnumber high elo players. Telling 75% of players to "just get better" in favor of balancing around the 0.01% is simply unrealistic.
hi coaches, genuine question that i don't know where else to ask, how do you deal with not getting your main role? you both coach for one specific role and preach that as the best way to climb, but recently i've been getting my secondary role more often than my main and losing those games is seriously affecting my mental
I'm in saltu. If you're jg/supp, you can secondary mid and just dodge on the rare instance you get it. If you're mid/top. I'm guessing they would say you need to have 1 pick in your secondary that you can perform on. No other way around it.
kassadin is the hard drug for me, it masks all my issues because you just don't need priority, don't need to roam, don't need to contest lane, never really afraid of jungle because you are always pushed in. That champ teachs so little
Hi , i just leveled up to 30 and started ranked . After my first 5 games i was put into gold 4 and feel like i don't deserve the rank , i was ready to start from high bronze - low silver since i presumed that was my skill level and now i feel bad playing ranked because i feel like i'm not on the level of other players . Is it normal ? do i just need to keep playing and i will end up at my ''real'' rank ?
if you play and you dont deserve the rank you lose and you demote to your actual rank. But this gives you an opportunity to play against these "better" players and if you want to take it seriously you should review the game and just start by analysing all your deaths why did you die vision? matchup knowledge? etc etc so you dont make those mistakes again. The benefit it gives you if you play vs higher level players is that you die more often because you get punished more often so it lets you see your mistakes instead of it just not getting punished and you win games because the enemy is worse not because you are better.
Hey guys, thanks for the content as always! Just wondering, are you all planning a "Final Weeks of the Split/Season" episode for next week? Would love to see it!
I find the conversation around female characters and their role in games very interesting. On one end, my reflex is to feel slightly frustrated that riot games continues the cycle of what a healer should look like. It's no coincidence that Braum doesn't have healing spells. Same for nautilus. On the other hand, riot games wants to make characters play how your average person would expect them to. You see a buff guy, you're automatically expecting tanky, not soft healing. That's what game design is all about: does this champion's play/feel match their looks. The answer to that question lies in our culture; what do we associate with gentle care? Anyway, I think riot has done a great job of releasing badass female characters, but on the other hand, not a lot of caring male characters. I'd love to see this change
I really love that Curtis played valorant and immediately judged the best ability in the game as "completely useless". I love it because it truly shows that becoming good at a game is a singular process and each game is its own unique skillset.
Hey I like the videos and the positivity about this game is so refreshing. Im curious if youve talked about some flaws you see in the game though (not the community)? What needs to change?
If there are hard drug champions for each role, what do you think would be the "salad" champions? What do you think actually makes these champions hard drugs/salads?
It's been a few months so you might understand by now, but it's basically that you play 3 ranked games and don't play any more ranked games until you review those first 3 and find things to work on for the next 3. It keeps people from just spamming games all day and not learning anything. It's helpful to ask yourself, "Am I focused? Am I ready to do my best for 3 games today?" before playing. Playing when really tired or unfocused usually just ends up with people being tilted and losing a lot more often.
Ive been listening to the podcast for months now, and Its pretty cool seeing you guys talk about valorant too as its my main competitive game, and try to apply some of the general concepts you guys talk about to it, and yea the much lower downtime and snowball nature of league was and still is the most jarring part of the game coming from valorant, having no real breathing room makes it hard to keep the intensity for more than 2 games.
its so funny how they talk about gotham chess because they literally all look exactly the same lmao like the beard the short haircut , black frame glasses, white its spot on xD
34:53 i think that this is complete bs, you dont have to be a loser to get angry when getting disco nunud, human emotions are completely normal to have. if you dont get angry when getting trolled, there is something wrong with you.
I don’t think anyone said anything about being trolled though, did they? The example that the podcast guy brought up was people that were simply trying new stuff, not disco nunu’ing. Also, nobody even called him a loser for his anger- the whole section was about having empathy for other players. Did we watch the same segment? 😅 As a side note, I think there’s a big difference in results between letting your anger about getting trolled consume you vs. recognizing that it’s a frustrating event but not letting your emotions take over. It takes a shitton of practice and continual effort but it’s better for you in the long run.
@@zeldafan9656Your having conflicting opinions. You believe you shouldn’t let your emotions take over, meanwhile expressing having empathy for other players. Have some empathy for yourself first. You come first after all.
It is much easier to see the difference in skill, once you are more skillful than those ranks. The biggest difference I notice is that as players climb from bronze to gold, their champ and laneing mechanics improve a bit. A gold player typically is much better at respecting lane advantages of the opponent and playing at safe ranges until level up windows or minion advantages make it safe to trade again. Many bronze players really struggle to control advantageous wave states on purpose, miss appropriate trading windows, and often take really disadvantaged resets. Not saying those things don't happen even into even Emerald, but bad habits like that become increasingly more rare as players tighten up their mechanical skill and game knowledge. In those ranks, what really feels the same is the mid and late game macro which is often scattered at best and completely wrong at worst. Players until high platinum aren't playing for gold and XP. They only play for kills and objectives. If I play in a bronze or gold lobby, I can definitely feel the difference in the increased tempo of play as players are more confident in their roles and champions.
@@coolbrotherf127 thanks for articulating that. It rings true in my experience. It is a bunch of small things that add up to being better all around. Which explains why gold elo players are much more likely to be available for an objective fight. Silver players might stay in lane, but for cs/xp which is good. Bronze players will have just recalled or not be in lane for some reason...meanwhile iron players will leave their lane with a massive wave crashing into their tower to put 2-3 hits on the drake and plainly signaling to the other team that an objective is being taken. 😅
# Negativity... its sooo true, even without going so far as to say you have nothing else going for you.. Just compare a day where you feel good vs a day you feel bad.. On bad days I ping less, roam less , FF faster, will get grumphy on teammates ,... on good days I m all over the rift , pinging , roaming , trying to help the 0/2 player on my team. On a bad day even putting a ward down seems like an effort. League will not make a bad day better. Go outside , talk to someone, do some sports,... It will save your mental & LP ! # life coaching 51:14 Yes , sadly also a trillion more expensive. If you disagree & wanna do free coaching BBC guys , pm me xD :p And yes , i know not every coach charges $350 :')
I keep seeing posts on different videos of a high elo player saying they can coach a gold or silver into diamond or something in just under a month or something like that. I genuinely don't think this will change unless the community as a whole would drastically change. It doesn't help that challenger players keep making smurf content where they try to coach low elo players by playing like they do and they will see success just by applying one singular concept of gameplay while forgetting how complex the game actually is and how much of their muscle memory of being a challenger is the reason they can see the results they do to begin with. It's like they know they are smurfing but don't understand *why* they can.
1:14:54 LMAO the mispronunciation implies this is a word he's never had in his vocabulary and has just come across it for the first time, or he's heard it once before in his life that is hilarious
I see you saying people don't get stuck in an elo they don't belong but that's bullshit. You don't know what it is. I am main Ziggs playing mid, and game after game I get outstanding farm, I know the general macro concepts, I deal so much damage and I always win lane (almost always), and I feel it's just a stupid lottery because someone in my team will send the entire game sooner or later. I used to have fun with this game, now I can say for sure I hate it and I am uninstalling it today, I will never play again. But yea, you are wrong, the game in low elo is so bad that all you can do besides for doing your part is pray you have luck.
No lol every game is winnable even in masters+. Especially low elo where you can literally win 4v5 due to people not understand what to do and will just default to playing Aram mid. Also playing ziggs doesn’t help you, because well he is pretty bad champ.
31:49 A bit disingenuous as there are heroes that are WAY simpler in DotA than in LoL. I'm talking like 1 point and click stun and borderline 3 passives simple 36:22 Idk man this guy literally just described me in my late 20s and I hardly ever type in game outside of "bbbbb sylas is up" because I ran out of pings. When I used to play 1v1s with my older brother in DotA, he'd literally get so angry at dying and losing that he'd hit walls and look like he'd be on the verge of breaking his laptop. He went to university at the age of 16 on a scholarship at an Ivy League and had a steady relationship with a long distance girlfriend while working a 6 figure job. On paper things in his life were good and he only played the game casually with friends on occasion and yet he still got that upset. Now TBF there's probably undiagnosed ADHD involved to explain that level of emotional reaction, but it just goes to show that how you take things in game doesn't necessarily have anything to do with what's going on in your life.
I wanna comment on the women in league and enchanters support thing, maybe as a contrast or alternate perspective? The aesthetic about champions I have a really hard time seeing especially with league these days. When I was playing the game Vex and Akali were my most played champs, they are very 💅💅💅 and are also very agressive/comabative at least compared to enchanters and in Akali's case technically demanding relative to the roster. Generally speaking and historically in league as well, competitive/coordinated team games often have the cutesy characters and such being easier and/or more supportive, but this is not the case in 1v1 games. In Street Fighter 6 my current main is Juri who is 💅💅💅 and also the fastest highest execution ceiling character in the whole roster atm (yes I have a problem), currently 2/8 female characters are "beginner-friendly" which is pretty much the same with male characters. My point is I think champion aesthetic is hardly a factor when it comes to new female league players playing more support, and other contexts are much more important. Simply put every role and archetype has its share of queens The "girlfriend recruited" thingy I think is a much more relevant factor ESPECIALLY in the context of support. You wanna play with your partner? Play the duo role obviously, and literally every "relatable female champion" in support except for Leona (whom Beatta currently plays) and Renata are passive champs or at least can be played with very low proactivity. Alternatively, adc is the second most played role for female players. The adc champion roster is afaik the most woman-represented role (of all sorts of fields ie pirate captain, mercenary, mad genius, sherif, aspect of a god etc), but I think it's just less popular than support mainly because of less heterosexual boyfriends wanting to play support while their girlfriend plays the carry. All that said I socially got into league for the most part duoing mid-jungle or arams with a roommate so I really cannot speak from personal experience here As far as Yuumi, yeah that champion is an abomination and at least personally speaking offensive. The creation of the champion and maintanence of the attach mechanic implies that the devs are ok with a significant chunk of their female playerbase not really learning how to play league. If anything with the rework buddy system she's even more of a "just hop on your boyfriend on adc and afk" champion. Wish she was removed or fundamentally reworked but we all know the book and cat are here to stay... which is especially disheartening because as previously mentioned there’s been a lot of female representation in all sorts of roles and play styles like the whole second half of league’s existence
I want to respond to several points here as a woman who did start league over 12 years ago /because/ of a boyfriend who played league. (My relationship with the game lasted longer than my relationship with him did; I find that amusing but I digress.) I disagree on champion aesthetic mattering, it does matter-a lot. I honestly can't play ugly or weird champions. I want to find something in a champion I can identify with as I will be spending a lot of time with that champion; I want to feel a bond with them. I do agree with you, however, that there are tons of amazing women champions out there that aren't support and are still feminine-Akali being one of your examples; she's a champion I love in concept but I would never call her feminine in any way. Akali is not feminine at all, like at all. She's pure tomboy. Senna is a champion I find more feminine, despite being very strong willed/minded and is "cool." I would say Ashe is another example of that. Take it for what it's worth from one woman's perspective though. Just my two cents. I actually started because I wanted to play with my ex, he helped me make the account and he bought me soraka to start. I never got to choose, I just did what he told me to do and I found I actually liked the role (though, not surprising as I go support in every game I play. I enjoy the enchanter/healer role the most-my main game FFXIV I play Astrologian. It's just my thing) and just stuck with it for all of these years. To this day, over 12 years later---I can't play any other role than support because I freeze up and get too anxious as I feel like it's "too late" to learn another role since my account is over level 500 I get flamed which just makes the anxiety worse. (Yes, I mute unhelpful players as I'm not about that life.) It's been a huge thing for me to learn ad support with Senna/Ashe the last few weeks at my league friends urging me to try to pick up a champion "that can carry from support." The only reason I did that was so I could continue to play with them outside of normals because I was getting left behind which broke my heart. This is where you may hate me, I am a Yuumi main. I adore that miss kitty; she's my favorite and since the day she was released I felt I finally found 'my' champion. (I even bought the statue and some of the other merch with her on it to keep on my desk because I love her so much; I just love her lines and personality--she's surprisingly dark for something so cute and I love the combination personally.) but I will be among the first to say her rework is absolute utter trash and they destroyed that champion making her to where she has almost no skill expression, she's helpless without a team mate who can be relied upon not be a feeder and who knows how/when to move. I loathe the best friend mechanic, and in pubs I refuse to sit on my adc in lane until I know I can trust them so my best friend meter doesn't rise too high and I'm stuck with them so it's not the fabled "1v2" lane people complain about--and I do well doing that as well. (I have over 1m exp with her btw.) If you spent any time looking into Yuumi mains (Reddit community in specific) you'd find most of us /hate/ that mechanic/passive as well and want to go back to when there was more skill expression with the champion. I actually /hate/ that I can't pop off and get my passive off for mana regen/shield anymore and I'm now forced to sit most of the game on someone until I can do something other than shield/ult. There is more to a good Yuumi than you think, it's just there are so many many bad ones out there that the meme feeds itself. It actually boggles my mind Riot would make her champion for beginners---the /worst/ thing possible as she plays nothing like any other champion and it would make it /harder/ for new Summoners to learn if they started with her. It used to be so satisfying to be able to fly around my team shielding and getting off clever passives just to hop back on and root entire teams and do % health damage to tanks with my q. I'm no fan of the new ult either but I'm not here to rage vomit about what they did to miss kitty. I understand Riot wants to keep Yuumi weak because of pro play, but she's not in a good place right now for anyone. Please, find and talk to some high elo Yuumi mains---you'd be surprised at how much they can do and offer a team and the wealth of information they offer about the game in general. Not all Yuumi players are trash/trolls, most of us are really easy going and very passionate about making our carry the star and doing whatever we can to get them there.
@yinyuestarsong4757 league is a drug, relationships (hopefully) are not so it's not too surprising lol Anyways I agree with you on champ aesthetics, all I meant was that with recent releases female champs see a lot more diversity in roles and playstyles now. If Akali is too tomboy then how about Irelia? Point is most of the enchanter roster is pretty old, curious how many were already released when you first played or released soonafter. Personally I'm alt girl/tomboy so it's not too surprising that I played vex and akali lol. So within the context of most common roles for female players, I think aesthetics are less of a factor these days putting aside legacy players such as yourself And I will never hate Yuumi players ❤ and ofc high elo yuumu mains know their stuff, it's a pretty universal idea that to me obviously applies to video game character playerbases too (never hate the follower player etc)
@@Amaling I got a good chuckle at "league is a drug, relationships are not." I'm an astrologer with my natal Sun in 7th, Mars in Scorpio, and Venus in 8th IYKYK. 🤣 Irelia, I actually consider to be quite feminine-however this opinion is based on old old old lore-and very Mulan like so to me she's akin to a Disney Princess vibe. I think Irelia is actually one of the champions I love the most that I know I will /never/ play as you have to have BALLS to play her and I do not have the lady balls to carry off that champion. Quite intimidating to even think about. I personally think she's the most beautiful champion in the game, even if I hate her outfit on her standard skin---WHERE IS HER BROTHER I HAVE BEEN WAITING SO LONG RIOT. I NEED CLOSURE WITH THAT STORY! I adore Akali players, they have the fanciest feet around (meaning they move well) and I just looooooooooooooooooooove being able to go zoomies with champions like that but I understand my own limitations as a player/person and quite frankly I know I don't have the technical skill required to play those sorts of champions well and my reflexes just aren't fast enough-my anxiety would have my hands shaking even trying tbh as I feel like based on what my Akali main buddy told me you have to be /so/ precise I'd be worried about fucking up the entire time. Just know from this Yuumi fan, you are my /favorite/ champion on the rift to play with that isn't a Zeri or a Trist---or Blue Kayn because he's Daddy 😂 (hate playing with red Kayn but blue Kayn all my yes.) That's a lot to say, that's the closest I feel like I'll ever get to actually being able to experience what it's like to play that champion. Plus, it used to be really awesome to jump off and get a well timed passive bop off then hop back on into a cloud of smoke a la ninja kitty to shield. Being able to body block stuff for her and soak cc meant for her (or whoever I'm with tbh but it feels the most epic when it's with assassins) popping off only to escape in a puff of smoke with a well placed redemption/mikhaels feels /really/ good because people always go for the Yuumi and never the Akali while she bursts them down in that window. It's glorious and I live for those moments on the rift---Yuumi being useless is a sick joke to someone who can play off of others positioning well and to abuse her W mechanic with her E to soak while it's on CD paired with summs it often lets you live if your team mate can be ride or die with you 😈😻. Good Yuumi's are /very/ different than run of the mill beginner or afk playing with feet Yuumi's. (Again, I know I harp on the Yuumi thing but she's my most played champion and my favorite and I get annoyed at even these podcasters being down on her and the people who play her when we're not all the same.) also, have a giggle but....did you just call me old!? 💀💔 In a nice way but still, I cry! (Naw, I'm in my 30's. Aging is a gift denied many...I'm attempting to age gracefully.) Wanted to say Happy Holidays to you and yours and may it be merry and bright in case we don't chat again.🎄🎅🍪☕ Best of luck on the rift new friend. 🐱
Alois unranked to masters videos deal with the cope that challenger players can play x way because of good teammates, and shows what being a fundamentally better play actually looks like in lower elos
Playing Final Fantasy 14 after sweating for years on CSGO and League was so strange to me at first. It was so uncanny playing with people who actually wanted to be there and enjoyed their game, compared to League's player base of addicted manchildren that hate their game but can't quit.
Has Riot ever talked about having a few rank banded champions? Diamond + have all, Gold - Emerald a few less, Iron - Silver few less. Would potentially simplify the ban issues too
They'll never rank lock champs. If they introduced it now they'd have people in arms that they can't play their favorite champ. Also that's a huge chunk of revenue from new players is buying champs and skins for those champs
These guys are such insane moral grandstanders. The comment that in "ten years they've never seen a single person that didn't deserve their elo" is the epitome of arrogance and ego. Anyone who has played league competitively for ten minutes knows this is absolute nonsense. There are loads of players that are above or below the elo they are playing at. Even using your own logic, if someone climbs from gold 3 to diamond 4 in a few days, then they were playing in gold 3 at a diamond elo rating. So to sit there and act like everyone is just hardstuck at their elo and eventually it will just "balance out" is just virtual signaling at its finest. I'd like to enjoy these guys speak, but their false humility and big egos make this almost hard to watch.
It’s a little disrespectful to say „silver players can never hit a triple shuriken“ as if this was sone kind of bullseye shot… like I could also say „jarvans will never be able to land their q in silver elo“ the chance you miss is higher sure… but there might be players in silver who are genious at landing skill shots. You don’t get out of low elo just by landing skill shots. Anyways still a nice chat. But the idea that low elo players are simply horrible in EVERY aspect of the game is so wrong. I regularly play with a silver player while being platinum myself and he plays mostly mages so a lot of skill shots. The reason he is silver is definitely not his skill shot usage…
Anyone else just get annoyed at people doing stupid stuff i was like that when playing footy to though dont make the ez pass get tackled other team scores and your just like what are you doing.
Valorant is every bit as complex as league if you are going in with a competitive mindset. You treating a game causally or playing it casually does not mean it is casual... This reminds me of when silver league players say the game is simple and they lose because of OP champions or their teammates. IE you don't know enough about valorant to even approach it competitively.
*READ THE ENTIRE POST BEFORE COMMENTING PLEASE* Most of you "coaches" are completely out of touch with what lower ranked lobbies really are. You completely deny how your teammates impact the game. IF what all you say is true, I should climb in iron if I consistently get S rankings. Last night I played 8 ranked games in Iron. I took a few years off from playing LoL to stream high level Apex Legends. I was also professional Halo 2 and 3 player. So high level gaming is nothing new to me. 3 games I got an S, 2 games A+ and 1 game an A. My lowest ranking was a C-. IF what y'all coaches say is correct, that I just to focus on myself, I should have climbed given my rankings. I ended up negative LP and only winning 2 games in the end. If you don't play a hyper carry champ who can 1 v 9 or the latest busted champ, there is literally nothing you can do by yourself. Why would you make a game that invalidates certain roles or characters like that? Which is sad for players who enjoy solo Qing and playing support like myself. Which brings me to my overall point. Basing your rank simply on wins is outdated and doesn't make sense at all for a 5 v 5 team game. Let me explain. I could go Yuumi and attach myself to a God tier challenger adc, not press a single button all game and still progress if we win. WTF? Why?? Its not even logical. Why not base progression by each individual performance? Or at the very least punish players for excessive deaths. If I die 12-15 times in a 20 min game, I should be severely deranked compared to games where I only die 4-5 times. Also, why isn't a new season an ACTUAL reset? Everyone should go back to zero. Your a god right? Why shouldn't you have to prove it season after season. Maybe it would get some fresh players into the higher rankings and make for a better game because of it. The LoL ranked system is outdated and it wouldn't take much to correct it. Also, why isn't there a true solo Q? Where everyone is solo Qing? Literally a couple of little tweaks could easily make ranked a better experience for everyone, including lower ranked lobbies.
You're wrong. First thing, i could get that account out of iron. Second 8 games is not enough to make couclusions. It'll take you dozens or hundreds of games to clmb. And there ARE 4 other players in your team, so it is possible they just ran it down these 8 games. But your opponents also have a team of similar players. If you are better than the average, your team will be better than average and you wiĺ win more games. Not all, but more. The system being win based has reasons. Over enough games it will always be fair. A performance based one would be complicated. Because the game is kinda complex. How would it know, that the 0 4 1 trundle solo won the game by spltpushing. How would it know that the rest of his team has bad scores because they needed to survive a 4 v 5. To be fair, riot is experimenting with one in the new season. But a win based system is fair.
Why isnt there a real reset? Imagine starting a game at start of season only to get destroyed by a challenger. Would that ne any fun? Would you really learn anything? At high elos there is a decay system, so you need to prove you are really good. At lower elos it still ranks you down at the end of season so you need to fight to get back

1:19:25 What an interesting take. Riot noticed that Yuumi binded very well with literal beginners of the game at sub lvl 30, but she paradoxically also never allows anyone to go beyond being a literal beginner due to how little mechanical gameplay there is on her (especially post re-work). And she may even indirectly encourage beginners to never progress because of that.
easy to learn - nothing to master. low skill floor and low skill ceiling
"Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity."
I feel like this very applicable when people hit that huge win streak.

Can you invite Shok to the podcast? would rly enjoy his input on your concepts😊
YES PLEASE
I've spoken to him and invited him, next time he's in Melbourne he said he'd be happy to! - Curtis
@@BrokenByConcept thats awesome 😍
Dear Curtis and Nathan, been watching you guys for a long time. I just here to give you guys some food of thought! A Korean challenger ADC youtuber called professor DDang also share an incredibly similar concept with you guys in his ADC guide that by doing basic fundamentals (champion identity etc.), one can win games even at challenger level. Maybe all great minds think alike!
I will say, watching Alois' content has made me a much more aware player. Like because of his emphasis on eco, minion waves, and watching for jungler, my lane phases have become infinitely smoother. He has me paying attention to those things even if i am not operating at the same level.
same he has increased my play by probably a whole rank or two. Now I just need to practice and play more on 2 champs and ill finally peak.
But when he's smurfing, his enemies are making the same mistakes we would make or our enemies would make.
Ppl cry about zed because the urf build that was going around that made zed an absolute cancer
already 5 seconds in and i know this will be a great episode, curtis failing to address the BBC’ers correctly is too funny🤣
WELCOME BBCers
I genuinely miss my low elo days where fights were full commitments every single time. Obviously heavy trading, identifying you can win the fight and pushing for it, or that you'll lose and disengaging is the optimal way to play the game, but few things are as unsatisfying as facing people who make the same assessment. They realize the trade is too much and instantly exit the battle. It's smart. It's the correct play. It makes them a good player who can survive to fight another day without giving away gold and XP, but god it's just so much of a let down compared to a good old fashioned brawl until someone just fuckin' DIES.
If you want to brawl to the death from time to time, ARAM is the mode to play.
This is the right proper way to kick off a week! Excited to watch this one as well.
This. I have noticed this as well as I get better, you have to start back at square one as soon as you rise in rank.
guys for the next episodes can you edit the pod by rotating it a little bit just so the video isn't tilted?😭
@@butterflyfx57 No one especially expect a random banana to half health them with a single point and click then they realized "HOLY SHIT when did Soraka get fed?"
there is any video or episode about how to improve at vod review? things to look for when doing it?
Another awesome video. Thank you for this incredible content.
hello fellow BBC lovers
The higher level you go, as people get better with the bullshit guns like the shorty it becomes easier to win save rounds because some dude will get a kill with a shorty, pickup a gun, then kill the other 4.
just thought I'd add that.
i wish i was good at aiming and positioning lol. i want to get good at valorant but i just can’t play that many games to a high level
re: low vs. high elo champ balance, I honestly think in most cases it's just a design issue.
Love the long episode! Please make more of these long videos
I appreciated your comment.

Been there before.
Usually when they do that they just die tho lol
loving the 20 min convo about swingers
Love the energy guys!
27:35 this sounds an awful lot like ARAM
I totally agree with the smurfing to diamond like series.
They never say the dumb shit that they are NOT doing, they simply aren't even thinking about making the mistakes.
I used to do taekwondo in university. I don't even know HOW to do a roundhouse kick wrong, I could actually try to imitate a student doing it wrong to show them how it looks like to others, and I actually can't do it. I've kicked probably 50000 times at least, it's less mentally taxing to do it correctly at that point.
Big episode for me no lie. Needed to hear a few of those things
Serious question, I would like to ask if you have any suggestions for a Support role coach, I'd like to get better myself.
They have episodes w/ this topic so u can search for it
kassadin is the hard drug for me, it masks all my issues because you just don't need priority, don't need to roam, don't need to contest lane, never really afraid of jungle because you are always pushed in.
Every New account starts at Gold 4 pretty much
Hey guys, thanks for the content as always!
Just got gold this week thanks to a change in mindset
Hey I like the videos and the positivity about this game is so refreshing. Im curious if youve talked about some flaws you see in the game though (not the community)? What needs to change?
If there are hard drug champions for each role, what do you think would be the "salad" champions? What do you think actually makes these champions hard drugs/salads?
I'm kinda new to the channel but can someone explain the 3 block idea
It's been a few months so you might understand by now, but it's basically that you play 3 ranked games and don't play any more ranked games until you review those first 3 and find things to work on for the next 3. It keeps people from just spamming games all day and not learning anything. It's helpful to ask yourself, "Am I focused? Am I ready to do my best for 3 games today?" before playing. Playing when really tired or unfocused usually just ends up with people being tilted and losing a lot more often.
Damn it i thought it was "Elo Rage" a podcast about tilt and rage in game. That would be very useful
Listening to this while playing 300 LP masters, lowkey good for winning when I hear Curtis explaining something.
Ive been listening to the podcast for months now, and Its pretty cool seeing you guys talk about valorant too as its my main competitive game, and try to apply some of the general concepts you guys talk about to it, and yea the much lower downtime and snowball nature of league was and still is the most jarring part of the game coming from valorant, having no real breathing room makes it hard to keep the intensity for more than 2 games.
im def in the range u guys speak of in the first 20 min. I need to be a bit more consistent and im easily masters.
Anyone can recommend me a video about resets mid?
its so funny how they talk about gotham chess because they literally all look exactly the same lmao like the beard the short haircut , black frame glasses, white its spot on xD
Curtis didn't get the shorts memo ;(
Describe League in one word: Unforgiving.
I have a range between d1-e4 never now what I am peaking
34:53 i think that this is complete bs, you dont have to be a loser to get angry when getting disco nunud, human emotions are completely normal to have. if you dont get angry when getting trolled, there is something wrong with you.
I don’t think anyone said anything about being trolled though, did they? The example that the podcast guy brought up was people that were simply trying new stuff, not disco nunu’ing. Also, nobody even called him a loser for his anger- the whole section was about having empathy for other players. Did we watch the same segment? 😅
As a side note, I think there’s a big difference in results between letting your anger about getting trolled consume you vs. recognizing that it’s a frustrating event but not letting your emotions take over.
I have never been high elo. But I would say bronze/silver/gold are all mostly the same. Hard to see any big difference in play within these ranks.
I swing 500lp at times. Really have to examine my own death spiral.
I'm a low elo giga noob but some of my best games are on taliyah ignite electro/FS/AC & DH
And that was before I even knew about odeysus(dont mind the spellin, i know its wrong)
Isn’t this Beata girl from Slovakia?🇸🇰
1:14:54 LMAO the mispronunciation implies this is a word he's never had in his vocabulary and has just come across it for the first time, or he's heard it once before in his life
that is hilarious
and then the " I think so" LMAO so none of them know the word ahahha
I'm talking like 1 point and click stun and borderline 3 passives simple
36:22 Idk man this guy literally just described me in my late 20s and I hardly ever type in game outside of "bbbbb sylas is up" because I ran out of pings.
Should get you both into monster hunter world

WHAT THE HELL IS BAD MMR ALL I KNOW IS PROCESS RAAHHH
Simply put every role and archetype has its share of queens
The "girlfriend recruited" thingy I think is a much more relevant factor ESPECIALLY in the context of support. All that said I socially got into league for the most part duoing mid-jungle or arams with a roommate so I really cannot speak from personal experience here
As far as Yuumi, yeah that champion is an abomination and at least personally speaking offensive.
(My relationship with the game lasted longer than my relationship with him did; I find that amusing but I digress.)
I disagree on champion aesthetic mattering, it does matter-a lot.
(I have over 1m exp with her btw.)
If you spent any time looking into Yuumi mains (Reddit community in specific) you'd find most of us /hate/ that mechanic/passive as well and want to go back to when there was more skill expression with the champion.
@yinyuestarsong4757 league is a drug, relationships (hopefully) are not so it's not too surprising lol
Anyways I agree with you on champ aesthetics, all I meant was that with recent releases female champs see a lot more diversity in roles and playstyles now. If Akali is too tomboy then how about Irelia? Point is most of the enchanter roster is pretty old, curious how many were already released when you first played or released soonafter. Personally I'm alt girl/tomboy so it's not too surprising that I played vex and akali lol. So within the context of most common roles for female players, I think aesthetics are less of a factor these days putting aside legacy players such as yourself
And I will never hate Yuumi players ❤ and ofc high elo yuumu mains know their stuff, it's a pretty universal idea that to me obviously applies to video game character playerbases too (never hate the follower player etc)
@@Amaling I got a good chuckle at "league is a drug, relationships are not." I'm an astrologer with my natal Sun in 7th, Mars in Scorpio, and Venus in 8th IYKYK. 🤣
Irelia, I actually consider to be quite feminine-however this opinion is based on old old old lore-and very Mulan like so to me she's akin to a Disney Princess vibe.
(Again, I know I harp on the Yuumi thing but she's my most played champion and my favorite and I get annoyed at even these podcasters being down on her and the people who play her when we're not all the same.)
also, have a giggle but....did you just call me old!? 💀💔 In a nice way but still, I cry! (Naw, I'm in my 30's. Aging is a gift denied many...I'm attempting to age gracefully.)
Wanted to say Happy Holidays to you and yours and may it be merry and bright in case we don't chat again.🎄🎅🍪☕
Best of luck on the rift new friend. 🐱
I love BBC
Alois unranked to masters videos deal with the cope that challenger players can play x way because of good teammates, and shows what being a fundamentally better play actually looks like in lower elos
I would say leauge is 100% more relaxing thant counter strike.
Hearing that you guys never played GTA 5 hurts my soul..
Playing Final Fantasy 14 after sweating for years on CSGO and League was so strange to me at first. It was so uncanny playing with people who actually wanted to be there and enjoyed their game, compared to League's player base of addicted manchildren that hate their game but can't quit.
Didn't she recruit him?
Just downloaded Valorant to feel the same thing
how tf y'all have only 15,000 subscribers, this shit way better than Oprah. she don't even play midland smh
Week 2 of asking for an ADC Guest :D
Yea being good at playing aram doesn’t translate to winning ranked soloq.
Anyone else just get annoyed at people doing stupid stuff i was like that when playing footy to though dont make the ez pass get tackled other team scores and your just like what are you doing.
can we invite katsurii the GOAT
These guys really disrespect disrespecting
Valorant is every bit as complex as league if you are going in with a competitive mindset. You treating a game causally or playing it casually does not mean it is casual... This reminds me of when silver league players say the game is simple and they lose because of OP champions or their teammates. IE you don't know enough about valorant to even approach it competitively.
Why is Curtis so BUILT?

Most of you "coaches" are completely out of touch with what lower ranked lobbies really are.
Attaching yourself to an ADC as yuumi? We have a word for that 'boosting'. You could. But nobody cares about your rank if you got it that way.
Excessive deaths? There is a strategy thatallows you to get a lead dying a lot. See theBaus
Why isnt there a real reset? Imagine starting a game at start of season only to get destroyed by a challenger. Would that ne any fun? Would you really learn anything?
At high elos there is a decay system, so you need to prove you are really good. At lower elos it still ranks you down at the end of season so you need to fight to get back
The true soloQ could work.
