@Gaye Fanner Premieres are video release moments where the video goes live, with you present on the channel replying to people. RUclips announces them on YT and it seems you can draw in a crowd. I think I will do a premiere again when I hit 1000 subscribers in maybe 2 years :)

There is a video somewhere on my substrate. In general, 1/3 clay based, 1/3 vulcanic and 1/3 organics, in equal grain sizes.

This is really wonderful, and I have since acquired a couple lovely rocks, muck, and a couple new seedlings to play with. Thank you for all your excellent instruction.
Yeah, I water as normal, making sure there is always water landing on the rock draining between the rock and the foil. Within weeks the roots push into the pot

Very nice video! I do have a question I have been told that aluminum is poisonous to plants, it doesn't look like it's true though if you use it to wrap root on rock over a period of years...
hi Jelle, nice video! root over rock is one of the sides of the art that I am yet to try. maybe I'll try one this spring. what substrate did you use to glue the roots onto the rock?
I can fully recommend you give this a try. Do let me know when you do! The substrate I used was ground coco fibres, these do not decompose, and do not hold nutrients which is great for roots to go out and explore!

Hi never seen tin foil used like that can't wait to give a go as have a couple of root over rock planned for the spring. How long do you leave it in place
hey louise, over the next week (?) I will bring out a new video on root over rock, might be worth watching that one too. Leave it as long as you need to get main roots established. For me, that can be years. Others lift the roots above the groun within a year.

How soon after I initially set up the tree over the rock can I check the roots to see how they’re holding?
Depends a bit on the species. A fast growing one after 1-2 seasons,
Is it possible to use cut putty to get the tree to stick to the rock to get it started?
you could I suppose? Never tried it.
I have done this and have used coco peat as the substrate. Ive also wrapped it with the foil. But the question is how do I water it ? Can I open it and spray some water or leave it like that? Please comment
I just water the whole thing. Water will seep between the rock and the foliage and roots will grow fast aowng the rock, down into the substrate below.

Hi, nice Video but I read that this stones have a lot of Calciumcarbonat and that is not good for Bonsai, is that right and how is your Bonsai doing now?
Calciumcarbonat highers the PH level up to over 7 and most bonsai need a more lower acide PH level, isnt that bad?
You need to pay attention which rocks you get. Seiryu rocks are suitable, and are also used a lot in aquascaping.
