I thought that was the starter cranking the engine over!!! Either the starter died or the battery did! I was looking for someone to turn off the battery switch until I saw that it was wiped off the back of the car by the other car!!!

It caught the starter relay shorting, turning the motor and the fuel pump feeding the fire. The non-existent safety crew wasn’t there fast enough to pull the power cutoff.

You see the video they made of the track crew how come it took him so long to get to Justin they made a video that the track crew was at Starbucks in a fire truck ordering coffee and donuts and s*** and they were sitting there eating all their stuff and drinking their coffee and then they were joking around decided to go save Swanson I think it was totally unprofessional of the track crew to put out a video like that joking around even though they were joking totally unprofessional for them to do that if I was the owner of the representative of that track I'd be taking some asses off the payroll for sure

How we can improve from this: blindfold yourself and practice getting out of your car once a day for a week, then every week after that for the next 7 weeks. Do it every winter before racing. Why? Because if you ever have the need to put that practice into use, you want it to happen as quickly as possible.
Really sad to see this happen, but happy to know both drivers are OK. That's what really matters. Looking forward to seeing both racing ASAP.

Also it’s super easy for me to arm chair quarterback, but why didn’t the track crew hit the power shut off? The starter motor ran for like 20-30 seconds, most of which was after flames were out.
