The History of British Democracy || Part Two: 1500-1660

In this video series, I will tackle the story of how Britain became one of the defining and first democracies in the world, from democratic elements in the Dark Ages to the foundation of a truly free and universal electoral system after the World Wars.
This video part explains the struggles between the early Parliament and the Tudor/Stuart crowns, Humanism, the English Civil War in depth, political philosophy development pre-Enlightenment, Cromwell's Republic/Commonwealth, and many of the political groups that emerged in the 17th century. This part goes through around 1500 to 1660, stopping just short of the Stuart Restoration (spoilers!!)
