And I'm so happy with the 351P! It runs great on GBA and SNES, I've nearly finished Minish Cap in the 3 days that I've had it. The battery is great, the software support is great, really, this is what I've needed for a long time, so thank you so much!

Thanks for the updated guide! I purchased a 351m and a Retroid P2 at the same time to compare them, and I agree that the 351m is way better for beginners. I returned the RP2 because it just needs more time in the oven to be user friendly and work out some of the software bugs. My screen wouldn't show a picture most of the time when the battery was below 60%. Start up time and overly complicated OS upgrade guides just make it too much of a hassle. Plus it does feel cheaply made compared to the 351. So the 351 needs two things to be complete that no one would ever consider buying a competitor. It needs a 640x480 4" screen, and more importantly it *needs* an HDMI out. The HDMI out was the main reason I even wanted a RP2. So hopefully this year we'll get a 352m with a slightly better chipset for PSP emulation, 4" 480p 4:3 screen and HDMI out.
My son asked for one of those handhelds with 500 preloaded NES and shovelware games for Christmas. Gonna surprise him with this huge upgrade! Thanks for your contributions and tips!

You are my go to when it comes to setting up Emulation Systems without a doubt your videos have helped me more than all of the rest. Thanks much appreciated
The only thing I need now is a guide on how to manually add boxart and video snaps to my games. It really bothers me how my rom hacks, homebrew games and some of my ports don't have the same treatment as the games that screenskraper recognizes. It would make me so happy if you put out a guide on how to do that! You're awesome, @Retro Game Corps ! Thank you for all your help!
It's a pretty labor-intensive process and I'm not sure I'd do a video on it, but it's very simple: create your boxart and videos (or get them from your favorite source), then go in and alter the gamelist.xml file to include them in your list (just follow the patterns for the other games). You have to do them one at a time so it can become cumbersome, but if you have a few games it's pretty easy.
@Retro Game Corps, one more thing! What is the ballpark for the preferred resolution of the boxart images? Also, can you walk me through obtaining videos? I have no idea how to do that, haha.
@@justinr1094 300px wide should be plenty. For videos, not sure -- maybe there's a place that has a repository, but I'm not really knowledgable in that area :)

I just got my rg351p and I love it so far. It’s my 3rd handheld but my 1st retro. I also took notes on how to back out of games and how to shut down the mini computer because that’s what it is essentially.
I don’t know if this changes anything for anyone but I just received my 351M and there was no sticker over the sd card so I guess they’ve stopped doing that. Also I’ve never seen someone mention it so I don’t know if they’ve always done this with these but mine came with an anbernic branded case and a screen protector that’s actually the right size. They didn’t mention that these things were included anywhere on the website so it was a nice little bonus! I was actually worried about trying to find a case that would work for this thing but anbernic took care of it for me. I’m super impressed with the quality of the device itself and the packaging and presentation in general was really nice. I’ve heard nothing but good things about anbernic but I was still skeptical buying a relatively unknown console from some Chinese company. They definitely blew me away, everything about it has exceeded my expectations so far, from the packaging to the build quality of the device itself. Everyone says the metal one feels really nice but i seriously wasn’t expecting it to feel THIS nice. It feels a lot more expensive than it is

It seems like Anbernic is the make to go for right now. I still dream of one that will go as far as gamecube flawlessly but I guess we're just not there yet. Maybe in a couple of years!

Despite having a 351p with ArkOS and 351m for 351Elec and watching your videos from the start I still find myself watching every video 🎉👍
Haha, I appreciate that Shaun :)
My RG351P is coming tomorrow thanks to all your videos and guides. Can’t wait!
Have fun!
Holy smokes, good timing dude! I literally got mine today, opened the box, opened RUclips, and behold! This video at the top of my feed. Thanks for giving this system so much love!
Looking at the comments, seems I'm not the only one!
Glad I could help!
Waiting for my first RG351M and this video answered so many questions which otherwise would have required me to spent several days looking. Thanks a lot man.
Glad I could help!
Wow, I just got mine yesterday, AS WELL, crazy how so many are of the same "groove" and was looking for a video, just like this as I heard you could go to a 256, plus you gave me every thing and more to make this really lil unit really "sing", so just ordered my samsung 256, FYI, 33 bucks amazon, and got a usb card reader that has a micro sd, for 7 bucks on sale Amazon, so I look forward to doing this revamp, so could not be more thrilled with just stumbling on your channel today, can't thank you enough
Anbernic and entire retro community owes You man!
So happy that you guys got your channel back
You are my go to when it comes to setting up Emulation Systems without a doubt your videos have helped me more than all of the rest.
Between ROM hacks, homebrews and fan translations, I have almost 250... That'll be verrry tedious, haha.
Thanks for the help!
The book you just took out then put back says 2 amp right on it. And yes, I just noted it outta the corner of my eye as watching this.
This is absolutely essential stuff if you are getting one of these, thanks a ton for all of the videos on the subject.
Thank you for this! The scrapping feature is one of those things that I was wondering how to do it correctly. Keep up the good work!!!
Great video, Russ. And really thoughtful of you to put together this updated, more comprehensive guide, considering you've already covered each of these points in other videos.
Much appreciated!
Another great overview. Just bough an Anbernic and this is perfect for someone like me who is new to the whole retro gaming scene.
UNBELIEVEABLY helpful, thank you so much!
I am currently testing an RG351P and waiting for the RP2 to arrive from Ali Express. Your videos have been extremely helpful and I couldn't have figured all this out without your excellent videos. Thank you! If I decide to keep the RG over the RP, I will most likely upgrade to the M model and do it all over again, cause this stuff is fun :-)
Great timing! Mine literally just got delivered.
Hope you enjoy it!
You are an awesome person, thank you very much for the help! My little sister wanted this game so much and I managed to configure it properly thanks to you!
Ordered mine yesterday. Gonna save this video. Thanks man!!!
Getting my black 351M any day now. Super stoked. Will definitely watch this again.
I just got my rg351p and I love it so far. It’s my 3rd handheld but my 1st retro. I also took notes on how to back out of games and how to shut down the mini computer because that’s what it is essentially.
Jesus man, you're my hero. Thank you.
My pleasure!
It feels a lot more expensive than it is
This video is a God send idk how anyone could dislike
Your content alone, got me to purchase one of these! Great videos!
Thank you for making all these videos, I can't wait for my RG351P to arrive! It's still WEEKS away but gosh
I feel like it's gonna be up and running with zero tweaking 🙌
Nothing comes perfect out of the box. Even the simplest "plug and play" experience needs some tweaking to fit with our preference.
Have fun!
So I’m completely new to this world of handheld emulation and I gotta say I’m really thinking about an RG351M instead of buying a modded GBA. I found my old Game boy Sd and after reliving some childhood memories I’m glad I stumbled upon this solution to retro gaming. Thanks for this video I will be following along once I finally order one🙏🏼🙏🏼
Thank you for this, I bought mine used and didn't get a manual so I didn't know not to use the reset button. I have the M and the build quality feels excellent, thank you for your upgrade guide
This video has sent me down a rabbit hole
My rg351p finally arrived just today, this video came at the right time!
Nice!
I love this video so much! It helped me set everything up with my new RG351M!
June 8th 2022 and I'm here learning and loving these videos!
Was literally planning on buying today! Thank you
Great timing!
Most helpful video because of you i just purchased my first RG351M and will use your content to get the most out of it thank you so much for being you!
Awesome, enjoy!
My system is arriving Friday and I am going to be following this video for sure ! Ty
Thank you! I hope I can do that! 😅 Good channel, directly subscribed! 👍 Greetings from Germany.
Hey man, I want to thank you. This has been so incredibly helpful. All of your links and everything are great. Thanks again, so much!
My pleasure, thanks for stopping by!
It's January 2022 and I'm using your 2021 guide! Fantastic video and great help for the new users :D
Fantastic setup guide you've created. Got me up and running very quickly. Thanks!
Perfect summary dude! Great work again ;)
I love this channel, you have such a calming nature and there's no bs. It's to the point, clear and it often has a cat as well. Great stuff.
I've been looking for a handheld that will do 8/16 bit and PS1 games and was going to get the 350 but then I saw a second hand 351p on eBay for a really nice price so I'll be back here setting it up for my pal (as a gift!) and I think I'll have a little play on it as well and then hunt down another. It seems like Anbernic is the make to go for right now.
I still dream of one that will go as far as gamecube flawlessly but I guess we're just not there yet. Maybe in a couple of years!
Finally got one! Just came in the mail today.
Thank you for telling me about the screensaver video option, that is so sick!
Happy to help!
Had one of these in the post a day or so ago after watching a previous video.... now this... perfect.
Awesome, enjoy!
Just ordered 2 of these and can't wait to put your videos to good use!
This video made me buy RG351P. Thanks!
