your transparency and authenticity has been key to me continuing to click on your vids. Thanks for all you do for the community! The volume game is so important. I'm releasing a new song every week this year in 2021, 52 songs and creating content around it. Hopefully it turns into something. I've had songs hit the 3 and 4 million mark on soundcloud and youtube but have never been consistent, so those plays never turned into followers. This year is the year!
This is super inspiring bro. I've always thought that the only way to blow up is to get into editorial playlists but now I see the value of the algorithmic playlists. Thanks for sharing man!!!
The 5 to 10 year grind before you hot big is what people either forget about or just don't want to acknowledge. I know I get that way sometimes so it's nice to be brought back to reality.
Your openness to talk about your grind and successes as well as your transparency has helped me a ton! Honestly I went from not being able to get anybody to hear my music.. I’m up to 16-20,000 monthly listeners on the regular. I really appreciate it! You’ve helped so many small time artists!
3:35 thank you so fucking much for being honest about the process before you blew up. I literally feel the same way. we develop skills and a catalog of content over time and when the moment comes, we're fucking ready to squeeze the fuck out of it. thank you so much L.Dre! you're an inspiration to me.
Dope. Thanks for sharing bro. I am having similar success with Spotify (not as big as you) but my numbers have shot up as soon as I started making it into the algorithmic playlists. Now in a year I have over a million streams and still have yet to be placed on an editorial playlist. Keep creating.
Yo, I have been watching your videos for a good minute now, and I gotta say, the journey has been real. This is amazing, got me hella motivated. Seriously happy to see your success 🔥
Awesome video. I've had consistent growth and started getting on playlists and spotify radio. Everything you said resonated and showed me to just keep doing what I am doing.
Thank you for your input L.Dre! I’m currently in the process of making new music and building my brand. I’ve only been making music for 2 years now and I only started releasing stuff at the last leg of 2020. To now know how important it is to prepare for the *BIG* moment, this video is a great reminder!
Dude, you've inspired me to finally jump into making lofi hiphop. I'm not that good or anything right now but I'm trying and that's better than not trying and regretting to have never tried at all.
what i take from this video: even if shit does not look good now i can't force it. i just have to keep up my grind, give it time and be consistent and someday it WILL work. thanku bro 4 beein💞
I really appreciate that you say that this came from a long time of just working on your craft and releasing stuff to slowly build. Not like, just spend a bunch of money on FB ads and that's all you gotta do! Super rad to see your progress!
Shoutout L. Dre man for putting us on game. watching you the past week I’ve uploaded a beat tape and two singles. Sending blessing and positivity my guy🙏🏽💪🏽
thank u for making this video and its insperational as well bro. i found u through yt and i really like ur lo-fi bro i does really help me relax and get my work done so thank u bro and plz dont stop creating
Appreciate the transparency, as always. I have been enjoying your content for a while. Now in a place where I'm looking to get over the hump and pour more energy into my music. Keep grindin' is what I takeaway from this video. Have a clear strategy. No shortcuts. Let's goooo!!
Thanks for this L. Dre! Got me thinking a little about things. I have a viral RUclips video that's getting between 55-80 thousand views every month the past few months and it just keeps on going. It's awesome and is getting me subscribers but I won't earn a cent from it. Maybe I should try doing a remix of that song and then I can post the instrumental on Spotify?
I've honestly been making beats for the last 5-6 years myself. But I never truly started posting and using social media till now. Your videos have always been a huge help to me and I will definitely be using these tips and tricks. I also make LoFi music (smaller artist), but I have been using your previous tips from other videos, and I can say they have been working. I have been getting added to smaller to large LoFi Spotify playlists and I have a few collaborations in the works with other artists from around the globe. Thank you for being my biggest inspiration L. Dre. Much love man!!
What a great video! So helpful and insightful. You have a really chill way of explaining everything clearly, like I'm four years old, which I appreciate 🤣New subscriber here! Thanks for sharing your success, and a BIG ol' CONGRATULATIONS on all your hard work 👍
Best part was just understanding the entire breakdown! Love your focus (on chill beats) but also your tenacity of leveraging the different platforms to drive everyone to Spotify. Cray-zee!
Honestly, this whole video was a vibe and I took a lot from it. However, if I had to choose one part that meant the world to me it was when you went behind the streams and laid it all out for us. Saying "not every song is going to be the 1mil song" was super important for me to hear. By taking that and putting it into my own numbers it really gave me some perspective! I originally found you through my journey of remaking my LoFi (ish) Zelda EP and thought "Man I gotta take notes from this guy". Since then I've gotten so many ideas and it makes me even more excited every day to make my own RUclips videos and journey. Thank you for always being transparent and honest I appreciate you L'dre
I'm inspired and appreciate the consistent words of wisdom across all of your marketing videos: that the most important thing is getting the viewers to go to your songs on Spotify! Thanks bro!!!
Real fan of your work ever since I thought one day Marries Life would male a good lofi track and boom there it was. Got you on Spotify a lot. Thanks man.
So you got on the editorial playlist but what about when you get taken out? Has it effected your monthly listeners or do you have a strategy to keep those listeners?
just wanna say i love you straight off the bat. like your vibe, the way you explain everything, so down to earth and authentic. i've never heard your music before but this was in my recommended. there is so much I am taking away from this video and lots of things you are saying which are confirming what I believe will lead to a successful career - hoping to get there with my music soon as well. Now off to listening to your stuff on spotify
Great educational and inspiring video! No clickbait, just your honest and believable experience. I started making beats on Twitch last year and am planning to launch my RUclips now. I've made music over 20 years and people like you give me faith in my capabilities in doing a total leap of faith into music production! The way you broke it down and showed how everything connects to everything and the importance of utilising several platforms was my favorite part!
I was doing the classic thing of holding onto my material to wait for when the magic moment to put an album out comes. I built an enormous success on RUclips (4M subs + the #10 video on the whole platform) but didn't push the music because the videos were doing so good. But with all this material just sitting there, I rethought the whole thing and now I have singles planned all the way to next July. This video was great for me for making success in streaming music come more into focus.
Thanks for all the help and advice from your channel. Ey yo Dre you honestly should start a beat-making academy. Maybe with a discord server and courses. I would join :D Keep up the good work.
Bro you honestly have one of the best music producer/content creator career models in 2020/2021! This is amazing. Whenever someone tells me “you can’t expect to make money on streams”, I’ll show them this video. 👌
your songs are nice and relaxing. I think you have a nice tone and your music is very suitable for a lot of listeners out there. I make dark techno and vaporwave and I find it hard to find my options to get those two different styles on Spotify playlists. One day at a time and will try to put into practice some of tips in your vid :)
Thank you ! Saw your video awhile ago wasn’t sure about how to get onto Spotify. I got my first song out on Spotify thanks to a video I watched on your channel gave me a spark of hope thank you!
There is some great life lessons and advice in this. Thank you so much for being so transparent. Especially stressing how long you been doing this, and how not every song needs to get millions of streams. Thanks dude! 😀🎉
You, Chris Punsalan, Servida, Andrew Huang and many of the new music producers of this era have really been showing many of us the possibility of making a living as music producer without having to rely on placements. Thank you.
Thanks for this video L.Dre it's refreshing to hear the pathway to success, you inspire me to keep going and continue chasing the dream of turning my craft into my career.
This is a long vid but hope at least 1 person gets inspired by this and starts GRINDING! Like if that person is you 💯
Keep it up bro! inspire by you ☺️
